Hi Sacha, I hope you and your family are well, you may be right about the Ark, I don't know if anyone knows for sure if the Ark of the Covenant was in the Holy of Holies at that time or where it is today, but you know those guys would not have let the people know if it were missing. The veil was so large and thick, it is said it was as thick as the palm of a man's hand and at least 30 feet wide. It is also said it took 100's of priests to manipulate it. I don't think the earthquake did it I believe it was an angel or the finger of God, just my thoughts. Have a wonderful afternoon, Ron
Romans 5:7-9 came to mind for me. It doesn't answer your question directly, but indirectly....
that a "good" man will not know the Lord's salvation if his goodness is his own. It is knowledge of our
sins and our sinful nature that opens us to call out for Jesus Christ and his salvation. Otherwise we remain dead in our "good" works, though to the world we may appear important, powerful or saintly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Dan, I wonder whether you're thinking of 1 Peter 4:18. And there is also 1 Corinthians 3:15 but this speaks about a believer's (dead) works are burned up though he himself is saved.
Hi Ron ,it may also be worth noticing that the veil in the temple was ripped from the top downwards ,thus exposing the fact that the ark of the covenant was not there and hadnt been there for a long time .
Don, yes we see in ( Hebrews 9:6-14) With this, it shows Jesus went in once and anointed the Holy of Holies not made with hands. Jesus repaired the dwelling place and made it possible for God through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus to dwell in us. If we look at verse 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing. Remember when Jesus cried out and said it was finished. He gave up the ghost, the veil of the temple was rent in half and God left the temple made with hands, the service in the temple made by hands was over, and soon in that generation, it would be physically gone and may never be again. The animal sacrifices that never covered sin ended on the cross.
Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well of this very thing, the hour was coming and it did. The temple worship will no longer be where God would be worshiped and later on the temple would not even be there. (John4:21-24)
Only my opinion, this is the place in John 14, Jesus went to prepare for us, on the cross, mansion (dwelling place) Strong's 3438. mon, Definition: an abiding, an abode. God dwelt in the garden of Eden with Adam but was demolished with sin. Now since the cross, the body of a believer is the dwelling place. Jesus's sacrifice and anointing of the Holy of Holies in heaven, God could send the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus to dwell, abode in us. The law is written in our hearts, not on paper.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
(It is at the time of Christ's return that Christians are taken to heaven to be where Christ is. If Christians were already with Christ prior to that, there would be no need for Christ to receive them to himself.)
1 Corinthians 15:22,23
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
(It is at the time of Christ's return that Christians are made alive. If Christians were already alive prior to that, there would be no need for them to be made alive.)
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(It is at the time of Christ's return that Christians are caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. If Christians were already with Christ, there would be no need for them to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.)
Linda, May CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.
I AGREE AND BELIEVE everything Jesse said in his comment to you. I will expand MY BELIEF a little more.
I BELIEVE that Christ; with the elect, are and will judge the world (Satan's kingdom that Christ took back at HIS resurrection). ( Matthew 4:8-9) ( Revelation 11:15) ( 1 Corinthians 6:2) ( 1 Peter 4:17)
I BELIEVE the parable of the workers; those called to work in God's vineyard, are the elect. Those called in the first hour are the apostles and others that took part in Pentecost. Since that first hour other workers have been called; till the present hour. Ourselves now being judged by the word of God; by our brothers before us, they being ONE IN CHRIST; have also become THE WORD, the BOOKS. ( Revelation 20:12) ( Revelation 20:4)
Matthew 19:28
Romans 11:31-32
Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature WAITETH for the MANIFESTATION of the Son of God.
Romans 8:21 Because the creature ITSELF ALSO shall be DELIVERED from the bondage of corruption unto the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Revelation 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me. thou must PROPHECY AGAIN before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
I BELIEVE at the departure of this body we will be given THE FULLNESS OF GOD; which also will be HIS BODY, OMNIPRESENT able to judge others as he now judges us.
I firmly believe that when we die, our soul goes immediately into the presence of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:1 says, "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle (physical body) were dissolved (physical death), we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Paul goes on to say in Verse 6, "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body (physically alive right now), we are absent from the Lord:"
But then in Verse 8, he says, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Please notice that when we're here, the Lord's with us but we're not with Him in heaven. But as soon as you are absent from the body, as soon as you experience death, which means separation, as soon as your spirit leaves your body, you're in the presence of the Lord.
Paul said that his physical death would be far better for him than remaining alive because he knew that he would be in the presence of Christ. That is given to us in Philippians 1:23.
In Acts 7:59, at the stoning of Stephen, it tells us that as they were stoning him, he was calling upon God. And this is the thing that Stephen said first of all when they were stoning him. He said Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. It reminds me of Luke 23:46, "And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said Father, into thy hands I commend my Spirit. And having said thus, He expired or gave up the ghost."
So, when we die, our physical body goes into the grave and waits until the resurrection where we will receive a new glorified body. But at death, our soul separates from the physical body and goes to be with the Lord immediately.
Hi Willow, your absolutely right, let Jesus take the wheel, let Him be the captain of our ship.
Matthew starting at chapter 5, the Beatitudes and sermon on the mount is one of my favorites, also Galatians chapter 5 explains the works of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:12-18, I would they were even cut off which trouble you. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
I was looking for verses on gossip and lying in the KJV bible and this verse really spoke out to me, I have been out of touch lately with my church and reading of my bible and just neglecting my relationship with God and Jesus. As a result I find it easier and easier to get away from my resposibilities as a christian, and in today's world it's more important than ever to lean on God. So the reason I was looking for these verses on gossip and lies is, I found myself getting caught up in this at work a bit with much regret and guilt. So I felt this verse is a good reminder to Let Jesus take the wheel as I can really mess things up when I am not listening to God.
Salvation requires more than just believing. There is a misconception that many Christians have - that all they have to do is proclaim that they are a sinner, ask for forgiveness and call on Jesus to save them. Jesus Himself said "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Later in Matthew, Jesus follows that up with, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."
Let's analyze the first quote, first. Do is an action word and certainly not passive. It requires us "to do" something. But what? The will of My Father. What then, is the will of God? The will of God is not an abstract idea that is so complex we can't know what to do. Rather, the will of God is made known to us by His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, and relayed to us via Jesus through the Bible. So what does Jesus say we must do to obtain salvation? Jesus is asked what must one do to obtain eternal life. He first responses with several commandments. The guy says, "I do those things." Then Jesus replies, "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." Sell what thou hast requires great faith that the Lord will provide. Give to the poor is charity, which scores mega-points in getting to heaven. There are several references to charity including: And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity; charity covers a multitude of sins, and
though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
Giving with a pure heart (doing charity is the will of God) is an action item and is a major key to eternal life. This is a major stumbling block to many complacent Christians. Remember: faith (that God provides for us, charity (is love) and hope (Jesus comes soon).
Regarding the simplicity of salvation , John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
There's some that taste of the Holy Spirit, they partake of the Holy Spirit, they get the knowledge and enlightenment of the basic truths and foundations of the things of Christ, and they might even in their mind believe that it's true. But that doesn't mean they are saved. A person must completely surrender their life to Christ, and trust in His power to keep them saved.
I believe in the permanency of salvation because I know who saved me, and I trust in His promise that He will keep me saved by His power. Salvation has nothing to do with me. It is all a work of God. The only thing I contributed to my salvation is the sin from which I needed to be saved from.
A person has to ask themself who they are trusting in when it comes to salvation. Are they trusting in themselves to keep themselves saved? Or, are they trusting in God's keeping power. Jesus promised to never leave us nor forsake us. If we are merely partakers, playing the part, we're not saved. A person must fully surrender to Christ. Once His Spirit indwells us, that is permanent, eternal, and therefore as long as He is in us, there is no loss of salvation. And He has promised to never leave!
These are Hebrews and Jews who went back and denounced the whole thing and were back professing their unbelief, and hatred, and anger toward the Lord and they were doing it publically. You see, a person can be in a group with believers and seem just like everyone else but not be saved.
They can give up their old lifestyle and seem to be following the Lord and then after some time just walk away and go right back to where they were before. And people might wonder what happened because they seemed like a believer.
Well, if you understand the parable of the sower, you know what happened. Only 1 out of the 4 people that received the seed gets saved. There are three others that heard the same thing that the saved person hears, but they have different reactions.
One of them is a person that's excitingly, with joy, hearing the word. But then when tribulations come, and by the way that's how you grow, through trials and tribulations, but when the tribulation came, they quit because it's not exciting anymore.
Now it's down to living life. Now it's down to trusting the Lord, and learning how to live by faith! And to the flesh, sometimes it's not as exciting as it first was. So they quit!
The indication in the bible that a person is saved is that they make it all the way to the end. All saved people make it all the way to the end.
A person who is not saved can look, act, and talk, and believe just like a normal believer. You can learn the language and learn the doctrines, and learn the lingo and say "praise the Lord," and you can learn how to put Jesus bumper stickers on your car correctly, and then one day just disappears.
The proof that one is saved is that they make it to the end. Why? Because we are kept by the power of God for salvation!
So he encourages believers to move past the foundation doctrines and elements of the things of the Lord, mainly because the people who stay in that area can either be saved or unsaved.
It says they were made partakers of the Holy Ghost. Notice the emphasis. They were partakers, that is, they were in this interaction and the Holy Spirit was ministering to them. They were partaking of the Holy Spirit as He was enlightening them. But notice they were partakers of the Holy Spirit. The emphasis is the Holy Spirit, not Christ. The Holy Spirit's the one that's ministering. They didn't know Christ.
Hebrews 6:5 says, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
All these tastes, it's like sampling. A non-believer can sit in with believers and receive the same ministry of God's Spirit to that group, even in their own lives, as to the truth of Christ.
So they have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come. They were actually there to participate. I recall the ten lepers that approached Jesus and wanted their healing. So He healed the ten lepers and sent them on their way, and only one of them stopped and returned to worship the Lord, and the Lord turns to the disciples and says weren't there ten lepers? Nine of them just took their healing and took off. Only one turned to worship Christ.
There are people who participate in the powers of God's Spirit moving in amongst His people, and they're not even saved.
Hebrews 6:6 says, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
It says if they shall fall away. There's no "if" in the Greek text. It's just after having fallen away. They've already done it. It's after having fallen away. And you can see in all these things that he's listing, they are all past tense. It's something they used to do that they don't do anymore.
Verse 4 started off by saying it's impossible for these people. Verse 6 says to renew them again unto repentance; Impossible!
Seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to open shame.
I don't believe a truly saved person can ever lose their salvation. The book of Hebrews was written to the Hebrews, Jewish people. They were following along, partaking of the truth, but never really surrendered their lives to Christ. It's not talking about a saved person walking away and giving up their salvation.
These Hebrew people were being enlightened to the truth, but when the time came for them to make a decision to surrender their lives to Christ, they would turn and walk away because it was a difficult decision for them. If a Jewish person surrenders their life to Christ, it would cost them everything. Their family would disown them, they would lose their jobs, and they would even be kicked out of the temple.
You see, they were being enlightened, but they were not saved. They made the decision to walk away because surrendering to Christ would cost them everything. So the verses in Hebrews are not talking about a saved person losing their salvation.
The writer says in Hebrews 6:4, for it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and the word enlightened means to have your mind illuminated to the truth. An enlightened person doesn't necessarily mean that person is saved. There are some who say that only believers can be enlightened. But John 1:9 tells us that the light, who is Christ, enlightens every man coming into this world. Every person is enlightened to the truth. So everybody gets enlightened but not everybody responds in the same way.
Secondly: and have tasted of the heavenly gift. They've participated with the things of Christ. They have participated with the Holy Spirit. They don't have Him living inside, but they tasted of that heavenly gift that God gives to His people. They're sitting in amongst God's people and they're participating and they're receiving.
As i witness to people I am finding more and more people who think they have lost their salvation, both young and old from homeless to elderly and most read the bible or say they do, they all without exception bring up the book of Hebrews, willfully sinning after knowing the truth or Esau about finding no repentance it is heartbreaking to see the pain in the eyes of some of these people. I think maybe some can't forgive themselves, some almost cause me to change my way of thinking because i struggles with some of those issues this is a tough subject and affects many more people than i thought. I could use some help with this subject so when i see them again.
We have to give an account of all the idle or useless words we say, is this for the saved or the unsaved? There have been many times i have spoken out in anger, even when something inside was telling me to be quiet i have given in but afterwards i usually regret it. What about things we have said to ourselves, say someone spreads a rumor about you or a friend or even says something that was told in confidence and you say things you shouldn't have in the car on the way home.
Just so you know, many Bible reading Christians don't believe that. Do you truly believe that saying a dirty word is just as bad as committing mass murder? Or do you believe that someone committing violent rape is no different than telling a white lie?
This needs to be called out, because sometimes even Christians use mental gymnastics to pretend that their sins are 'ok'. No, it's not ok. Jesus said to not sin. He said cut off your own hand if you have to, to stop sinning. Do absolutely anything possible to stop it and avoid going to hell. If you ignore Him and sin, that's like you slapping Jesus in the face. If you keep doing it, it's possible you're not even a Christian. A Christian is a Christ follower which is an action. People who enjoy committing sin and following the world will probably go to hell, whether they call themselves a Christian or not. That is the reality that fewer people these days are grasping the seriousness of. Matthew 7:20-23.
If sin didn't matter, why would there even be a judgment day and why would sins even be reviewed in front of God? Sin absolutely matters and every single thing you do to violate God's commands will be judged. Romans 14:12
I think the false assumption comes from misinterpreting a verse. Sin is sin, but it does not mean all sin is of the same severity. That is a false assumption. For instance blasphemy is different than blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Jesus says flat out that you will not be forgiven for the latter. There are more Bible references to prove that sins have different severity. Matthew 12:36-37
We cannot talk of one sin as less bad than another sin. Sin is sin and all sins are bad. God can forgive us even if we sin against Jesus. But God will not forgive the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The sin against the Holy Spirit is the attitude of a person who chooses on purpose not to believe God. That person has chosen strongly to oppose God's work by his Holy Spirit. It is such a strong decision that the person will not ever change his mind. These Pharisees saw the good deeds that Jesus did. They said that the power to do these deeds came from Satan. They called evil good and good evil. They could see the truth but they decided to oppose it because they are demons. This attitude puts such persons in a state in which they cannot repent. As they cannot repent, God cannot forgive them. And they cannot believe in the Lord Jesus for salvation. KJV Matthew 12:32
that a "good" man will not know the Lord's salvation if his goodness is his own.

This is a very important question like many other questions.
What happens to the soul should be one of the most important questions to everybody.
Firstly I would like to advise that the answer must come from GOD through HIS WORD.
Let us read or hear what GOD says through HIS WORD.
I Love The King James Bible because through This BIBLE, I came to realize who is the BISHOP of my soul!
Please read :
(1) 1 Peter 2:25 " For ye were as sheep going astray, but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
(2) Colossians 3:3 "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God"
Amen

Jesus could not ever break the law of the Sabbath....Why?
Answer: Because Jesus is The "New Law" HE Is The Sabbath! To GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!!

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
All we have to do is believe PERIOD
Hebrews 6:18-20
One more, I promise!
Will continue:
I'm running out of space but will continue:
God bless...
