Faith is everything in momentarily. That comes by hearing and hearing the voice of God and believing what you can't see. Then you will see, come true and it will come to p***.(habbakuk 2:2-3)
Jesus said “Elias truly shall come first to restore all things”. People missed the Elijah of their day. Have you recognized the Elijah God sent us for this age?
In verses 12 and 13, Jesus was saying that Elias had been reincarnated into John the Baptist. This proves that what was shown to me was merely the truth, and that is all of the five main religions are based around it. When will mankind open the eyes?
@Afriyie,
I believe that this verse has been removed from certain versions because some so called translators (I believe are not authorized by God) have decided that everything is done by faith and that prayer and fasting is not a New Testament church age function. It takes great faith to participate in prayer and fasting.
@Afriyie,
The best explanation on why certain versions of the bible remove or add to God’s holy word (King James 1611 version) is the men behind these versions are bold enough to usurp authority over God’s authority. Men have been doing so since 1881 under the umbrella of reasoning that they are doing society a tremendous service of providing (or perverting) man with easier to read and understandable versions (I dare not call them bibles) sometimes good men of God doing the devil’s work with good so called intentions. All they really have accomplished is to add confusion and doubt into the very simplicity that is in Jesus Christ ( II Corinthians 11:3). There is still a remnant that believes in ( II Corinthians 2:17). Take heed from Revelation 22:18, Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:6.
@Afriyie,
Most of the times translators of such versions of the Bible often provide reasons which motivated the deletion. You can find those reasons in margin commentaries.
God bless you.
The two manuscripts mentioned by Nannoulou, "Codex "Sinaiticus,Alpeh" and "Codex Vaticanus, B" are based upon corrupted Egyptian/Alexanderian manuscripts/texts, Westcott and Hort and Bruce Metzger(co-editor of UBS's Critical Greek Text). The drive and brains behind this blatant attack upon the King James Version is none other then Westcott and Hort. Their Bio's are in the streams of obtainable information/knowledge for any and all seekers of truth as it relates to our Creator God. May the Blessings of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ be upon all who read this post!
On my earlier comment. It's ok for the translators to use shekel for the text; however, it's wrong for the Bible commentator not to know what the shekel symbolizes.
It is part of a parable. After his disciples have been called and leave behind their old nets they will go fishing for people using the net of the good news! The temple tax was supposed to be used to keep His Father's house clean. Jesus tells Peter to go to the lake and cast a line. Peter is to go to the lake, instruct the convert in the good news and take him up from the waters in baptism. What is the 'weighty' thing drawn from the mouth of the newly baptized? The translaters of the Greek of course assume it is a coin since one sheckle, 'the weighty thing,' would mean that Jesus is offering the temple tax for both Peter and Himself; but the thing that is 'weighty' is the praise and thanksgiving that comes forth of the mouth of the newly baptized. The cleansing of the temple that Christ desires is for gratitude and thanksgiving to be given to his Father!
matt.7:27, is a verse i believe that can give you something which you need by believing that Jesus is speaking to you that, your first job that you will have, give some part of your salary to your friends, to yourself and also to Jesus.
This is an extremely interesting detail which explains illegality of taxes that every government today takes from its citizens; taxes (about 10%) are to be taken only from conquered nations, what is the rule that is explained in Mk 12:17.
It seems that this verse ( Matthew 17:21) does not appear in some of the very oldest manuscripts that are available to us. For example it does not appear in the Sinaitic code or the Vatican code manuscripts - for this reason some translations omit it entirely as it seems that it was added later on and not part of the original.
While I agree that fasting may be a good thing - we should not add to or take away from the Holy Writings however good our intentions may be.
the bible say grater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. from glory to glory .he is the light we are in the light so we are the children of light.
I am wondering why in the NIV and other newer translations the word fasting is just a footnote. It seems to me that fasting is a very important act of spiritual growth that we need more of and we need to be taught about it and encouraged to do it.
For the first time, I went to the commentaries page.......so many God's and Jesus'. So many Churches of Me. I'm aghast at the sheer uselessnes
of the Bible and Matthew Henry.
So many English's. So little scripture. Matthew Henry is in heaven. Thank God. Jesus is also there, in Heaven. I am not He. So simple.... I will follow them, not you of so many words. In obedience, not opinion. Only Jesus was tranfigured, and like Peter, I have been rebuked.
I...only see Jesus. I..no longer exist. So as nothing, I pray ...read the book. Read Matthew Henry. Continue to ignore me. I am blessed. God help us all. We will all sin again. Love Jesus,so simple.....
I do not believe Christ was poor He Just didn't cart a lot around with Him If He Was Poor why would he tell us that we would be supplied? Matt ^ tells us how we will be clothed better than Solomon The word also tells us if we are obedient he will bless us with abundance
