Verse 20: This principle applies to congregation meetings. Since Christ is in our midst during congregation meetings, we should be mindful of what we do and what we say.
  • BSP on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
Verse 22: This doesn't mean that we should literally keep a count and only forgive 77 times. We should be generous in forgiving as our Heavenly Father is generous in forgiving our sins.

    Jesus is dealing w/relationships
  • Jeff Berry on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
Can you pay all that you owe to God? Because that is what He expects from you if you do not forgive your fellow believer! Verse 35.
  • Jeff Berry on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
As a toddler taking his first step, our Father (with His hands stretched out to catch us) is waiting for our first steps toward Him.
  • Jeff Berry on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
In Chapter 5 Jesus uses an extreme exaggeration (hyperbole) to warn believers of sin. Here in verses 7-10 (and again in Mark Chapter 9) He is warning nonbelievers who "despise" believers and would cause them to stumble.
  • Mandisi on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
    about forgiveness
  • Ike Obi on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
This is a message about forgiveness, based on our fellowship with God and fellowship with others. Are there unforgiveness in my heart; are there areas of unforgiveness that I need to forgive? What do others see when they see me?

THIS CHAPTER AND BEING REVEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT MEANS THAT WE SHOULD BE HUMBLE IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THIS IS THE DUTY AND SHOULD BE THE DUTY OF EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIAN. FOR THE KEYS TO SUCCESS IS PERSERVERANCE AND HUMILITY. GOD BLESS AND I PRAY THAT EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIAN IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE - THAT WOULD BE ON A UNIVERSAL BASIS MEANS WE SHOULD STRIVE TO BE MORE LIKE JESUS EACH DAY.

  • A disciple on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
" Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Child-like does not mean being infantile in your behavior: it's not thinking and acting like a child, when we are grown up men! But it is love out of the innocence and purity of a good conscience, faith without hypocrisy, and the hope! "Acting like a child" is different.
  • Cross N. on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
Dear Boba Fett - I like that you appreciate the teachings of Jesus even if you claim that you are not a Christian. May I just add that aside from your entering a spiritual state every time you play with your lego, Jesus is telling us that "being a child" means possessing a humble and teachable spirit like children :)
  • Arley3 on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
Matthew 18:15 doesn't say anything about whether you have forgiven the trespass or not, nor does it say anything about whether or not the brother has repented of the trespass. It doesn't say if thy brother has ought against you. It says, "if thy brother shall trespass against thee... ". Talk things out. Make peace with your brother. Don't look for excuses.
  • LadyA on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
I Trust in GOD and will not be distracted. Prayers is what I need to keep my mind on JESUS CHRIST! I am a child of the KING! Having child like Faith
  • BSP on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
Jesus came to save the lost ones. We are grateful for the ransom of Jesus because without this ransom we would still be lost and with no chance of survival.
  • Lilian on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
For the Son of Man has come to save for the losts. Thank you Jesus for being a good Shepherd to us We've lost once but you have come to give us life in abundance By your Blood you paid the price for us Thank you Jesus for your love mercy and grace Amen hallelujah

  • Peter A. Okebukola on Matthew 18 - 7 years ago
Like the lord in verse 27, Jesus is willing to forgive all our sins so we can be blameless when we appear before Him at His Judgement Seat. We should also adopt the same posture of forgiving all those who trespass against us, countless times.
  • Rashard Wilson on Matthew 18 - 8 years ago
    Love this passage
  • Wayne on Matthew 18 - 8 years ago
Jesus says, v. 3 except you b converted and become as little a child, you shall not enter the kingdom of Heaven. There is no merit in just acting like a child.
  • Boba Fett on Matthew 18 - 8 years ago
Although I'm not a Christian, it's nice to know that Jesus approves of my child-like behavior. When I play with my Star Wars Lego sets I become child-like even though I'm 38 years old and thus I enter a spiritual state of mind that can be called heaven...
  • GeraldineCole on Matthew 18 - 8 years ago
PRAISE THE LORD JESUS WHO WAS SENT TO EARTH TO DIE IN OUR PLACE AND HE WAS SENT BY HIS FATHER WHO IS GOD. There is nothing on this earth we can do if we want to see Jesus one day but to do and live by his Word everything else is vanity and Act chapter 2 V 38 when U follow that first then you will be Saved. Then study the word and the bible will show yoU how to live ask Jesus to lead u to a Church were he wants U to be .because preacher are not like they use to be most of them now just want Money they will not help the people that need help but only help themselves Jesus is not please we shall reap what we Sow Amen
  • Carolyn dantzler on Matthew 18 - 8 years ago
My youngest son referred me to this chapter regarding his older brother. I appreciate the fact I have somewhere to go for direction in dealing with our broken family. I hope we all realize we have a go-to book to give us guidance.
