Hi Genie and James, I think you are right. I can't see how Jesus would be commanding his followers to help all poor people like welfare queens or illegals or people who choose to get addicted to drugs or have babies without fathers. Those are bad people and don't like Jesus. Why would people be poor if they followed Jesus. Jesus gives his followers all! I know!
I believe the door that is shut represents the moment spoken of in 1Cor.15:52. In that moment one must have already accepted Jesus Christ if they have not the door will be shut to them. The wise virgins were the wise mentioned in Matt. 24:45 who were ready for that sudden moment.
You have ten Virgins they all as we are looking at it as ten Christains five of which were prayed up and as talents have done what GOD had intended for them to do. However the five foolish had been Christains but have strayed away from GOD doing the thing of the world and wre not prayed up and was not about the Fathers buisness. Sound to me if you are not ready and the Bride cam eand the door shut then the foolish just lost out.I am not the judge but we need to get and stay ready for the journey home one day.
I think what i've always thought. You give and you feel good n get good back. But if you don't give or be not nice or friendly or help a neighbor you don't feel good and you get that in return. Not good not GOD.
Sarah
It is preparing us as christ will ne returning one day and everyone will be judged We should always be watchful .be ready feed upon the word fast and pray and be in readiness for his return either by death or the rapture
@ Christo... Revelation 12:7-17
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
God gives us many chances in life, so we need to stay with Jesus at all times and be ready. Never let a crack come in between you and God because Satan is standing by to steal, kill and destroy.
I have a son who was damming God today, in my car, I've been helping him alot, but I cannot handle his attitude toward our heavenly father, I've decided he needs to learn. To lean on God more, maybe its time I stand back abit.
All the 10 were Virgins [saved] 10 is the number of completion [the entire church], all had oil in their lamps [notice that in all translations except KJV it says "our lamps are GOING out" meaning they had oil [the Holy Spirit]. The "going out" pictures those believers who were quenching the flame/Holy Spirit. This parable has nothing to do with Salvation but rewards because you cannot go and buy salvation.
If we make the radical assumption, based on recent scientific discoveries, that when Jesus says this he is LITERALLY speaking of His connectedness with ALL of mankind, then there are profound implications to all His actions and statements. He no longer symbolically died for my sins; He chose to take on the suffering of being a mere man before Pilate and his enemies so that after I stood before my sister's anger denying that I felt anything; I could see the love and strength of his actions and the pitiful smallness of my own.
The Scriptures were written to be understood at that time. There is certainly no reason to think that God incarnate was unaware that we each carry in our cells the mitochondria of Eve that we will pass on to the last living human.
I was taught "even that which he seemeth to have" as per the Wycliffe Bible.
My sense of it is that if a person is obsessed with their poverty, always considering what they have NOT, then they will continue to lose even what they seem to have. If on the other hand a person is appreciative of what they have, giving thanks for it, taking care of it, then more will be added unto them.
As Christians we need to remember when Jesus was in the community of man, many helped him both Jew and gentile. We should lead by example in how we treat others, being as Christ like as is possible for us, that we treat all with respect and care, no matter their situation - rich or poor or in between. I personally feel if more of us acted this way and put others before ourselves, there would be less hatred and greediness in the world.
Sadly, man seems to judge others by how they look or the evil acts of a few, rather than as all mankind are God's children.
I think Jesus refers to those doing His Father's will. In other words; if God tells you to go and feed a person (stranger or known) man or give water to someone, or to clothe someone, or to visit a sick person or someone in prison, DO IT. Whether they are saved or unsaved, if He has directed you to do these things it will be as though you have fed Him, or gave Him water, or clothed Him, or visited Him. Well done thou good and faithful servant,thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord!
In the context, it SEEMS like Jesus could be saying that whomever treats any DISCIPLE well in real need is helping him. It COULD be that Jesus is not speaking of all the poor, etc., who neither believe in Him nor care to attempt to do His will. What think ye?
Mt 25 : 28 Take therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has made ten . is very interesting God Almighty gives to each who has accepted Jesus His son the ability to fulfill the calling He has placed in him who he called . To my understanding this talent was what He was best equipped to use to the fullest . How ever instead of been content and thankful for his rich abundant gift he coveted what was given to the others and failed to make use of his wonderful talent.
Brothers and Sisters, Please understand; that this life, is not for us to just feast on for ourselves; But it is for us to be fruitful; Meaning to be productive, in the edifying of other people's life.
Once we accept Christ, as savior of our life, and begin to live a righteous life, that's not all that is required of us.
Now we must fast, pray, and study our word, that we may grow there by, and then begin to multiply our gifts, that God gives to us, to win soul unto the kingdom. ...... See if we only focus most of our lives on our own prosperity, and lag on the well-being of others, then well be like the foolish virgins who did not have enough oil for there lamps, for when the bridegroom came; therefore he can't remember you when your time is up, because you did not have much of a positive impact on people's lives, during the time you were on earth.
So we must be careful, not to become idle in doing God's will, and we must first be diligent in finding out what God wants us to do, then be dedicated to doing it, cause idle Christians are in danger of being unknown, and cast out into outer darkness, where part of the torture; among many is regret.
So we must become active in kingdom building, and stay active till the end, to receive God's rest.
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
The sheep and goat judgment will take place when the Lord Jesus Christ comes in the second advent to establish His Kingdom. Before Him will be gathered all the nations of the world, and He will set the sheep on His right hand, and the goats on His left, then he will say I was hungry, and you feed me, thirsty, and you gave me to drink, sick and in prison, and you visited me. Naked and you clothed me, a stranger, and you took me in. Then shall the righteous say when did we do these things? Jesus shall reply, in as much as you did it unto the least of these my brothers, you did it unto me. All those nations that fail to provide for the nation Israel will be the goats, and they will be told to depart from Him into everlasting fire prepared for the devil, and his angels. The sheep on the right that did provide for Israel will be allowed to enter the kingdom of God.
This has to do with the ability of separation from thoughts that emanates from the left hemisphere of the brain and integrating into the right hemisphere, to commune and feed the Christ within us, and nothing else.
Jesus was killed by the Jews because he called himself the Son of God and refused to be called the Son of man. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 reads "God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things that are strong." I believe Matthew 25:1 means, that a ruling Religion that defines heaven in its terms (be likened to the real heaven) will state that a man can have many wives; 1 groom and 10 brides. Or, perhaps these "brides" that are required to have oil may be nations that are required to have energy reserves when the Son of man takes over. Verse 8, This is exactly opposite of what Jesus taught! Only a selfish, non-Christian person would not share. Would Jesus accept a person that lacks charity? Jesus tells us to be charitable. Verse 11, Jesus is LORD of Lords, so not every man called lord is Jesus! Would Jesus turn someone away because they lacked something that can be bought or were slow in coming to him? Jesus forgave the thief, while on the cross; he does not reject people because they come to him late. Verse 14, This is the parable spoken of in Luke 19:11-26; people want to know when Jesus would return. It is shown in the Bible that he will not return until after 3.5 years of WW3. The Son of man is the evil “nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return”. The people of that kingdom that is overtaken did not want to serve him. Verse 24, Jesus does not steal! Reaping where thou hast not sown, Jesus is kind and loving to those that serve him. His lord (Not THE LORD which is Jesus) calls the man wicked because the man did not give the lord more than his lord gave him. This lord does not deny that he steals! Verse 27, Jesus does not approve of usury! "If he has exacted usury Or taken increase -- Shall he then live? He shall not live! If he has done any of these abominations, He shall surely die; His blood shall be upon him." ( Ezekiel 18:13). Verse 29, This sounds like a caste system will be set up. The rich will be given what the poor has and the rich has to give to the ruling ”lord” to win his favor. Verse 30, Jesus does not destroy/cast out people that are not able to teach his doctrine or that are not good businessmen. Verse 31, The Son of man is evil and the holy angels will meet him in battle; the throne of glory for evil is WAR. Verse 32, The Son of man will rise to power at the signing of the WW3 peace treaty and separates Christians to be persecuted. Verse 34, JESUS, the King, calls out to his followers. Verses 35 and 36, Jesus explains His chosen people have charity, kindness and justice. Verse 44, Jesus tells the followers of the Son of man that they turned away the poor and did not help those in need.
This passage is os meaty as the brother said in December you can break it down as the spirit of God gives you utterance. 5 wise and 5 foolish is people of today1. Wise is trying to live a holy life and the foolish is lying, stealing, cheating, fornication, adultery, killing living like the devil would have them n not referencing God or the Holy Spirit! Those are the goats that will be sat aside for the Lake of FIRE and the sheep will be ushered into the KINGDOM as God's children! The talents are concerning the wise with tithes and God blesses more. The narrow minded stingy that won't even give God the 10% He desires. The are without and will not rap more because the won't plant in the Kingdom. The talents are also to be use to usher people in to the Kingdom for God, a lot of people sit on the talents God gave them and do nothing with them! You Reap what you Sow!. Sow much, reach much! The sick, hungry, naked not free in prison are all children of GOd that suppose to be blessed by God through others that are more fortunate than some. GIVE and you will receive; for He said you have done unto me when you help others. Bless someone daily in words, deeds or needs! Be a blessing and receive the blessings from God that returns 10 fold!!!!
Matthew 25 can be a difficult chapter so we must remember some of the basic rules of interpretation:
1. Matthew is a book about the king of the Jews ( Matthew 2:2);
2. Until the cross they are under the law;
3. Jesus first came to save his people the Jews ( Matthew 1:21);
4. Much of Matthew is prophetic given to the Jews for the future, knowing that the Jews were going to reject Jesus as their Messiah. The titles of each book are clues to whom that book is directed at, Jewish title or gentile title. In chapter 25, if a person stumbles over the doctrinal intent then, it will be difficult understanding the spiritual intent. I believe that this chapter 25 is mainly given to the Jews in the tribulation age. Trying to place this chapter in the church age will not work and here is why.
a. Kingdom of heaven is a Jewish term;
b. Virgins = 144,000 Jews from Revelation 7:4 3;
c. The church is always without exception referred as singular (never plural);
d. Oil = holy spirit and it can never be purchased but given when asked for in church age;
e. The wise virgins trimmed their lamps = good works;
f. The foolish virgins did not trim their lamps = no works;
g. In church age we are saved by grace not by works;
h. The 5 virgins go out to meet the bridegroom (church age saints are caught up to be with him);
i. I believe there will be a tribulation rapture ( Revelation 11:12) and the 5 wise virgins that took oil, (in church age we receive oil (holy spirit)) go up with Christ in the tribulation rapture ( Revelation 14:12-16) and the 5 foolish virgins that did not trim their lamps go into the millennial age after second advent of Christ.
Jesus truly and really is coming again. Eye has not seen nor ear heard the majesty, but Jesus will come in at the darkening of the sun and the moon. Yes it is true. He will come at the end of time. Live good lives. If you do wrong repent and change your ways. We must try to be perfect even though we are not.
I WANT TOO BE MORE AND DO MORE FOR JESUS THAN I'VE BEEN DOING FOR HIM.GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TOO ME AND MY FAMILY.RATHER BE THE WISE BRIDE THAN THE FOOLISH ONE.GOD IS SOOOO GOOD!
This chapter teaches me alot about sowing, investing for real life and speacially spritually. So life is all about what you sow or invest today. Investing or sowing is like you're preparing of something happen in future.
