God is very Persis in giving directions and he said in the "name" not "names" plural forum. if he had wanted us to baptize in the titles or names of God he would have used the plural here but the Hebrew word for "name" is singular and can not mean in the names of anything or anyone. You error in that in the scripture it is saying name of and then gives three different titles for that name. Just like I am a father and I am a son and I have a spirit, but my name is Rick! There is no three separate persons or a trinity mentioned anywhere in the word of God! People try to explain away that Jesus was none other than God himself manifested in the flesh, robed in flesh and dwelt among us. NO Person other than God can forgive sins, NO ONE BESIDES HIM! So it had to be God almighty that was formed as a man, not a separated being other than God!

Wa-a-y back in '14, a person said the ascension wasn't mentioned in Matt., but that it was in Luke and this made him doubt the veracity of the Bible. Well, this person has LOTS of company. Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve, but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

Love For TRUTH (Amen!!) There are a 'few' of us on here - Matt. 7:14
  • Mark Wettengel on Matthew 28 - 7 years ago
When Jesus told the disciples to baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy spirit in Mt. 28. and then Peter says for them in Act. 2 to be baptized in Jesus name, It means, "in the authority of" In Mk.16:15-20 Jesus say's, "These signs shall follow them that believe, in My name they shall" Name is referring to authority. Peter baptized in the authority of Jesus name Mt.28

  • Love for Truth on Matthew 28 - 7 years ago
Amen "baptizing them in the Name" the Apostle Peter was there when Jesus said this .Was Peter disobeying Jesus or did he understand what the name of the Father,Son,and Holy Ghost is when he told everyone of them to be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins in Acts 2:38 the Apostles only baptized in Jesus Name throughout scripture

    I really like that verse

Jesus himself is a word of God. God our Father sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ becoz of his love to us John3.16 so that you and me will have life in abundance. Jesus came to fulfill the Scripture and paid the price for us by his blood we are pardoned Jesus wants us to be his disciples and have obedience to his words. If we love Jesus will keep his commandments. Praise you Jesus Amen

I GIVE GLORY TO MY BIG GOD, BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN MY ALTHOURITY WHAT HIS SON JESUS CHRIST HE DID, HE TOLD ME TO GO IN NATIONS TO PREACH HIS WORD, AM ALREADY TO DO IT MY GOD! HALELUAAA, GLORY TO YOU LORD!!!
  • Jean-marie Gaugo on Matthew 28 - 7 years ago
This is a mission of salvation ordered by Jesus, it must not be neglect because of this mission depend the growth of the church. If we go not and teach not all the nation all the men and women we keep our neighbors from salvation, and we obey not to Jesus. We must go everywhere and teach the gospel to get many souls to Jesus. Baptism is a mark of god's covenant with the one who accept Jesus in his life baptism must follow the decision to follow Jesus. And it is good to baptize sying: "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" as Jesus said.

The writers of the New Testament accepted without question the deity of Jesus Christ, and they never speculated about a plurality of persons in God. All speculation occurred in the post biblical era, relying on formulas and words not in scripture. Obfuscation (to obscure something, make it 'fuzzy', confusing) usually results from human attempts to go beyond what scripture has proclaimed. cont.

Satan has blinded the world to the truth of the Bible. What we aught to do is ask ourselves how. Most people in the West have faith in the theory of Evolution and so don't believe Genesis as historical fact. Because they don't believe Genesis they doubt the veracity of the rest of the Bible. See what Creationists have to say. It will encourage you in evangelism.
  • Hugo Guzman Fernandez on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
In the last two verses of Matthew 28 Jesus is telling his disciples to go throughout world and tell them about Jesus dying on the cross. We as Christians of the 21st century need to do the same thing Jesus told His disciples to do, we are losing too many Christians today because we don't go and tell the GOOD NEWS. We need to step up our game and do what Jesus told us to do.THANK GOD I'M SAVED
  • Mari on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
I was baptized in Jesus name. Acts 2:38. Also Matthew 28:19 it says in the name of the father....(his name is Jesus)
  • Irene123 on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
To TKN95 - Bruce confused my answer to you. We know the Disciples/apostles began witnessing right away - in Jerusalem and nearby towns, but to get them to go into the then known world - Asia, Turkey, etc. God had the Romans start persecuting them so they'd leave Jerusalem.
  • Bruce on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
Tkn95,Irene: disciples went out preaching the word of God instantly after they were baptized! Jesus told them to wait until they are baptized Acts1:4-5.
Irene: they didn't know it was Jesus. Mary thought he was the gardener. Acts20:15.

You right Jesus is God. 1Tim 3:16; Isa 9:6; John 1:1; 1:14; John14:7-9 Father is a title, son,a title, Holy ghost a title. Look at the word name if it was three it would of said names. Also Acts 4:12; We read all in Acts about baptism in the Lord Jesus. Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. 1John 5:8; Deut6:4; 1John5:20 God will open up your understanding to the scripture if you will allow
  • Irene123 on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
To TKN95 on Matt. 28:19 - Here are 2 answers - they DID baptize in the NAME ( Acts 2:38); they DID go into all the world, albeit a little slowly ( Acts 11:19). But even today, as Christians, we are sometimes 'slow' to respond if it seems scary or what ever the case may be. But HE knows how to get His work done, i.e, persecution, and etc.
  • Tkn95 on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
Why did the disciples not do as Christ said in vs 19?
  • Irene123 on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
I just now noticed this (as many times as I have read it!!); they believed Jesus as soon as they saw Him. The disciples didn't until Jesus broke bread with them. Not always, but as a rule women will accept the truth before their men will - be they husbands, brothers, what have you. Women are more 'tender', as a general rule. I know some say more gullible, but - that's God's doing.

Matt. 28:18; And Jesus spake saying, ALL power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
Matt. 28:18 - Proves Jesus is God; Jesus is God's name; "ALL power is given to me"; Deut. 4:39; 6:4; Isa. 42:8; 43:11; 44:6, v. 8; Eph. 4:5; Philip. 2:9-10; ALL power; God does not know another savior beside Him.
  • BSP on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
This verse shows that Jesus was given power and is only second to God in his power.
  • Lilian on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
Jesus is keeping his promised to us that HE WILL GO TO OUR FATHER AND WILL PREPARE A MANSION FOR US. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US. OUR JOB NOW IS TO TRUST JESUS AND OBEY HIS WORDS. OUR OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORDS IS THE KEY TO OUR SALVATION. LETS GIVE THANKS TO THE BLOOD OF JESUS AND PRAISE HIM AND WORSHIP HIM. WE NEED TO LIVE AND FOLLOW LIKE JESUS THAT'S ALL HE NEED. AMEN
  • Funke Ogunsola on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
All power, absolute power has been given to Jesus. My Lord, use your power to secure me totally in YOU forever. Let my family, friends, and all that love you be saved by this Power. Let us all be delivered and set free totally from this world by this power. And at the end, count us worthy to be with you. Amen.
