I believe much of the bible has been construed to fit a person 's of the cloth regardless how true he maybe , Its being misconstrued to fit their being many rich and wealthy ministers use the HOLY BIBLE for this purpose self gain . They practice their stories and wisdom daily to render income onto themselves , However if they have taken the oath of poverty and maintain that live style . they are closer to the truth than those who accept the poor hopeful people money ? Service to God isn 't about wealth its about GOD and understanding the truth . Look at all the Churches proclaiming to be the true religion . Jewish were close ,then came Catholic 's who were closer ,JESUS Peter Paul ect Priests and followers of Jesus . Jesus was carpenter in early Life as was his Step Father Joseph early man . Mary was Natural mother flowing from God . The Angel of the lord came upon Mary that how Jesus was made Earthly , And we all have our Angels if we chose to use them . Look at drunken alcoholic they can be saved by faith alone Higher Powers than themselves they cannot quite alcohol without help spiritual help , God or maybe an Angel accept faith as it happens to you your life should be dedicated to Faith belief Death is coming to all of the Earthly things so believe in yourself Guilded by the real word and faith PEACE : May your friends and neighbors always respect you ! : May bad luck and misfortune always neglect you !: May the Angels always protect you ! : And may HEAVEN accept you !

on Verse 9 I have thought that when Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world it was not the power to rule those kingdoms, but he was offering to give Jesus all of the souls of the people within those kingdoms, after all that was what Jesus came to redeem.

Verse 1, The lesson that is taught is full of symbolism. The wilderness is the souls of persons that can not discern what is right and what is wrong. It is a place of spiritual searching for the truth and understanding of the words of God. Jesus is led by the Holy Spirit to face the Devil for the souls of mankind. The fast is not a literal not eating food. The fast is symbolic of 40 days and nights of facing sin being tempted with false doctrine and laws and not taking it into ones spiritual being. Jesus is the word of God, the bread of righteous doctrine. After 40 days of facing sin- Satan, Jesus was hungry for the souls of the people in the wilderness to eat his bread, the true words of God.

It seems to me the lord looks to us to resist temptation with the spiritual resources at our disposal. Prayer, the word obedience, faith. When we are done he sends angels to strengthen us. The same sequence occurred at Gethesemane. Only after Jesus declare that His father 's will be done did the angels come to minister to him.
  • Pamela wright on Matthew 4 - 9 years ago
It seems that John the Baptist and then Jesus was attempting to show the other Jews that they needed to repent from their sins and live a better life...and that was radical causing a stir...then making that belief criminal. So John was eventually beheaded and Jesus had people believing He was holy and so He was killed too. So, once Jesus, who was holy, was crucified then those who believe in Him worship God in a new way...following His teachings. OK I get it.

Jesus does love you. You bring people to get closer to Him I know because I'm one of them.

All sickness paid for at the cross. Your healing already completed at the cross. Do you have faith the size of a mustard seed? Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Jesus said " heal the sick and set the captives free.
  • Horace on Matthew 4 - 9 years ago
Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Live by following all of his instructions as to what to eat and what not to eat and follow all his laws, etc. These are my thoughts.

I 'd fasted since I was 14 yrs old ,30 days of Ramadan once a year as the order of our holly book I felt so great .......never gave up even the longest and hottest days of the summer ..........but 40 days n 40 nights, very serious attempt.
  • Linda Hendrix on Matthew 4 - 9 years ago
Through all things we must have faith, but, faith without works is dead. We are not healed by faith alone. If we have faith in our God and in the hands of the people that are treating us, then, it is possible we may be healed from what is causing us to be sick. Matthew is a book written by an author that writes books, much like anyone of today, writing their own thoughts. Now this is my thoughts, just like anyone else.
  • Jose a velez on Matthew 4 - 9 years ago
because through His Word we are healed and all worth the Scriptures are true and all those who believe will inherit the kingdom of God
  • Derrick on Matthew 4 - 9 years ago
You are correct sir. Three times according to the gospel. If you look at how this is translated in later books... It will say he was tempted for forty days and forty nights, However you read it correctly as we have, you will clearly see that it was three times after he was starving and in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights.

To demonstrate the power of God 's creations and Jesus ' healing power is a story that happened today. It will sound odd but rather lovely - I washed the drapes and as I placed them in the dryer, I saw a stink bug crawling on one of the drapes - still alive after going through a gentle cycle. The miracle of God 's creations will never be truly understood by man, but his word and Jesus 's sacrifice and love give man great faith. So Amen to that, and Matthew 's testament.

Hello Wayfarer: Please read the following information for I have already addressed these comments. When God said "let us " If you would please go to page 5 up under this Chapter where I gave Russel2079 a 4 part answer to this same question date 10-14-14 times 10:12 pm and 10:13pm, you will find my answer to your question. I also addressed the questions about "let us make man in our image AFTER our likeness ". Anonymous asked this same question on page 6 of the Chapter date 10-10-14 it is in 3 parts times 1:18pm 1:19pm 1:20pm. Please read my comment. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh, in 1 John 5: 7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. There are other scriptures that show the oneness of God, John Chapter 1 1 Timothy 3: 16. Jesus declared he was the Father to Philip, John 14: 8 and 9. The Holy Ghost name is Jesus Christ, John 14: 26.

Answer to ECR comments dated 11-09-2014 2:36 am. I don 't agree with you that Jesus Christ holds all three offices, making him the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, thus it will immediately follows that they are equal in power and authority. The bible tells us plainly that they are distinct to one another. The Father is Greater than the Son - John 15:28-. In the book of Genesis 1:26 When God said "Let US make man in OUR image " he is talking to someone who has the power to create just like himself, so beside the Father who else has the power to create? of course its the Son. Its impossible to think that God talk to his angels about creation of men, since angels has no power to create, and its impossible that the Father talking to himself, remember our God is not the author of confusion 1Cor 14:33.

Hello Amanda Rios Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by the devil with what he could offer from the world, Matthew 4 8 and 9 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me . All the world has to offer is the following, 1 John 2 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world . We are to turn from our worldly ways and follow the ways of God. We are in the world but not of the world, John 15 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Acts 2 38 is the salvation plan under this Grace Age period which is the 6th Dispensation.

Hello Oladipupo jide If you are referring to the Word that is mention in 1 John 5 7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one ". Then he, the Word, is not a tool. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. Even his word is a living word that we can live by.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Matthew 4 - 9 years ago
Hello Mockingbird Yes, and the Word was in the beginning and created Heaven and Earth and the Word is God. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3 16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Thank the Lord, as we follow Jesus He teaches us how to be fishers of men. Jesus went about preaching repentance, and the good news of the kingdom of heaven. We must do the same for the people who sat in darkness have seen great light.

Hello Joshua Ihuoma You need to do more than read the word of God to overcome. You need to follow Acts 2 38. You need to be born again of water and spirit in order to not only get into the kingdom of God but to see it as well, John 3 1 thru 8.
  • Joshua Ihuoma Chinomso on Matthew 4 - 10 years ago
He overcame by saying it is witting, he knew the word, he read the Word, and he quoted the word. We can only overcome by trusting him and doing as he did quoting, reading, knowing the word 'Bible ' .
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Matthew 4 - 10 years ago
Hello Rob You are absolutely correct. Jesus is God and God is Jesus. Jesus Christ holds all three offices. He holds the office of Son. He holds the office of Father. He holds the office of the Holy Ghost. However, it is just one being. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Jesus Christ in human form nursed the breast of Mary. As God Jesus Christ made the milk that he nursed from the breast of Mary. In these passages of scriptures Jesus Christ out of his own mouth acknowledges his deity, in verse 4, 7, 10.
  • Rob on Matthew 4 - 10 years ago
God is Jesus, Jesus is God, God had already thrown lucifer out of heaven! God came to earth as baby Jesus, Mary was a virgin, God can do anything, everything, or nothing, he is God! We can 't expect to understand everything, because his ways are so much higher than ours, we can 't comprehend God, causing Mary to go through the process of a baby forming inside her, giving birth, of a baby boy that is God, in human form, and calling himself Jesus! It is mind boggling, He is the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit!
  • Thomas on Matthew 4 - 10 years ago
Verse 4 and verse 7 clearly shows god is Jesus is lord is father is son is spirit is life. Amen.
  • Ucheya chioma on Matthew 4 - 10 years ago
