(This is my respond to Wilma's Matthew Chapter 5 comment on 9/10/2013, 10:50pm):

It's true that he came not to destroy the LAW but to fulfill it. In fact, it is also written in Romans 10:4 that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
  • Wilma on Matthew 5 - 11 years ago
If you notice in verse 17 and 18 that he came not to destroy the LAW but to fulfill it. I keep hearing people makes excuses for their sin because they say that was old testament law and doesn't apply now? People can dismiss things in the law to make excuses for their sin but in verse 18 he said one jot or tittle shall in no ways pass from the law.
  • Ng on Matthew 5:44 - 11 years ago
Yes, hard to do but ALWAYS worth doing. I am in this predicament, but worst when its a Christian who display the qualities of "an enemy" described in this verse.
  • Alicia on Matthew 5:44 - 11 years ago
We are always either scattering or gathering according to the Lord. By recieving God's Holy Ghost through the believing of Jesus Christ we now have the freedom to be righteous and loving and graceful as God is towards us. The thing is to remember that being Christ-like is a PRIVILEGE and NOT a chore.
  • Blake on Matthew 5 - 11 years ago
We are blessed to be a blessing, always serve an feel the joy in doing so. For the more you take the righteous path the more shall be unveiled to you. Then an only then will we can fulfill our purpose an receive blessing / increase /contentment an feel true joy in abundance... Now find a friend that needs you, assist as deemed appropriate an let the grow on their time. This is challenging, for many came to me before I was ready to absorb the gospel, thank God for them an bless you on you're life's journey. Keep the faith an always seek the Lord for answers, he is always by your side....
  • Celicia on Matthew 5 - 11 years ago
I feel so blessed after reading this chapter God is telling us the way our lifestyle ought to be that we shouldn't be a one day christian but is light should always shine through us because tthe world is looking at us the way we ccarry ourself as children of light
  • Johnson Olalere on Matthew 5:16 - 11 years ago
Every form of darkness provides opportunity for us to shine as children of God.
  • Charles Harding on Matthew 5 - 11 years ago
I think Matthew Chapter 5 is powerful an we should
    Take his word serious
  • Austin Ideboghie on Matthew 5:16 - 11 years ago
The secret of illuminating as the light is the secret of ones closet, note the the world we are in is dark, crooked and slippery our obligation as a child of the Most High God is to shine so that we may not wall in darkness of the world.
  • RICHARD on Matthew 5:4 - 11 years ago
WHEN SOMEONE COMES TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE EFFECT OF HIS SINFUL NATURE AND THE DAMAGE IT HAS CAUSED IT BECOMES VERY SORROWFUL AND REMORSAL HOW YOU HURT GODAND OTHERS IN YOUR LIFE. THIS LEAD ME TO TRUE REPENTENCE BUT I NOW UNDERSTAND THAT IT WAS THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT GOT ME TO THAT POINT.
  • Ovie Omeleh on Matthew 5:3 - 11 years ago
Blessed or Happy are the poor in Spirit, who having attained contentment, (as opposed to being poor in soul/body) theirs ( their state of mind, consiousness or inheritance) is the kingdom (with Jesus as King) of heaven. They are not consumed by the acquisition of wealthy things, (including: Fleshly lust, coverteousness, greed, Pride, envy, vain things Etc, but their care ( what they have realised) is in the knowledge and practise of the heavenly/Godly vitures, patience, humility, love, forgiveness, righteousness etc. They observe the hand and grace of God in everything and are Happy with it.

  • Eld. Glen Stuart on Matthew 5 - 11 years ago
Jesus taught to forgive always, without conditions, to take abuse for His sake, the abuse he took for us should stand as example.
  • KMcfarland#1 on Matthew 5:44 - 11 years ago
Praying for people who have hurt you can be difficult if you do not stay in the word of GOD! If we are not careful our prayers and motives for praying will become bitter or harsh. That is why we must put on the breastplate of righteousness and seek guidance from other Christians when praying. Stay prayed up for the world is full of people who are not saved and have no thoughts of getting saved.
  • Janice Wilson on Matthew 5:23 - 11 years ago
I am studding and searching for scripture to help me deal with not being in a friendly place with my husband. I have forgiven him in my heart because I love him, but I am unable to relate or be close to him, because I find that I think I am owed an apology from him for telling me to kiss his a** during an argument we had. I think he was wrong and he needs him to make it right in order to bring us back together, instead of taking the ungodly man's approach 'which would be to wait until enough time has p***ed for me to get over it and forget. I need him to own what he did/said and make it right so that I can forget.
  • Tim Hyslop on Matthew 5:28 - 11 years ago
This is a beautiful comment that Jesus made(He made so many beautiful comments!)I do not think he was saying that you could NOT look at a person and appreciate how beautiful a person is. But to always see the person as a human being with feelings. Always have comp***ion for the person you see even if someone is dressed in a provocative manner. If the body distracts you too much, look into their eyes, look at their hands look at their feet! Try to see the person behind the body. Love that person for who they are, and even the way they dress. Accept that person and send Prayers of love to them. And in the same way love yourself and your own body as a holy temple of God.May God bless everyone who reads my comment!

Mathew chapter 5 i think is telling us all how we are to live, treat others, and always remember that GOD left his word for us to obey, and testify of him by the way we live,we are to be the salt and the light of the world, which we are not being we are more worried about this world than of GOD OUR CREATOR.
  • Mary simon on Matthew 5:44 - 11 years ago
When people hate you outrightly and want to provoke you to anger, the best thing you should do is to love them. Pray for them and use kind words. By that, you will heap coal of fire on them.
  • God's Child on Matthew 5 - 11 years ago
Well i have seen with my spiritual eyes that our leadership in the body of Christ is just barely saved themselves. The very Elect has been and continues to be deceived because they have gotten more involved and caught up with the cares of this world than the holy things of God. They have caused God's people to fall more in love with them than with God Almighty. Men and Women show a higher allegiance to their pastor/bishop and first lady than to their creator. But the saddest part about it is they refuse to hear and receive truth. They are more Religious than they are Spiritual. Thats dangerous! It makes it harder to breakthrough and get deliverance; healing and the fullness of God's Blessings of Prosperity that we as Born again believers are Entitled to. JOHN 3:3
  • Rick on Matthew 5:13 - 11 years ago
one of the biggest reasons america is in the shape it is because christians stoped being the salt of the earth, the cares of this life has stoped our light from shining forth as it should , if darkness cannot over take the light , then where is the light.
  • Rick on Matthew 5:13 - 11 years ago
one of the biggest reasons america is in the shape it is because christians stoped being the salt of the earth, the cares of this life has stoped our light from shining forth as it should , if darkness cannot over take the light , then whers the light.
  • Jack on Matthew 5:31 - 11 years ago
I think it speaks. It is a light in the dark. It tells the truth. It is a shame that either side would put away the other. I think it happens now a days more to males then females. No with womens lib women have the legal athourity to put their husbands away.
  • Irene on Matthew 5:32 - 11 years ago
How about first defining the words "fornication" and adultery. In the old testament fornication is defined by *** before marriage, adultery is when a married person (note: a married person) has *** outside of their marriage.

So clearly Jesus can't be saying: if a man devorces his wife because she had *** outside of the marriage he is making her have *** outside the marriage. It was to be that if the man finds out his wife was not a virgin then he could devorce her. If not so than why would he be using two different words (fornication and adultery) to explain the reasons for devorce? I believe God wants to heal every marriage, even though adultery has occurred. Hit me back on what you think :-)
  • Dale on Matthew 5:36 - 11 years ago
To me this verse is saying first of all we are not suppose to swear by anything at all. Second i think it is saying it is not within our power to change our hair color. God gave us what he wanted us to have.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Matthew 5:23 - 11 years ago
The Lord wants us to be in fellowship one with another. If we have hatred in our heart toward our brother, we cannot give a gift to God, until we have restored the relationship with our brother. Jesus said a new commandment give I unto you, that you love one another as I have loved you. Pray for one another, and confess your faults to one another so that you can be healed.
  • T. Devadas on Matthew 5:10 - 11 years ago
It is a war between the flesh and the spirit.
A war between light and darkness. People loved darkness be cause their works are evil.

I am grieving for the lost of a child of God who had
gave his talent in music to serve. So I believe that this godly sorrow, it is God who gives comfort.

I set forth to be what Jesus said unto us. Love is the way to thy heart in all experiences. For I love you anyway. It defeats!
