I am going through a very rough time in my life where my thoughts are sick . It helps me to remember Nehemiah CHp.2 vs.2 a sad heart that belonged to the person who was not sick. I have to heal from continued abuse from Parents and a mother who used medications instead of her instincts. Growing up as a girl I always wondered why my sisters got to do things I didn 't and now I am barren.

I see the Christmas Story in this verse, I suppose because of a Christmas sermon of a black pastor friend in which he said that Christmas is "God, come down to see about us ". Think of Satan and Herod and all those who were disturbed when Christ came promoting the welfare of the children.

Nehemiah demonstrated selfless and ampitiouse mission by leaving a good package of serving the king.

Nehmiah was a man of prayer, even before he told the king his request he prayed to God n God 's hand was strong on him when the king granted him his request. Secondly there is always n adversary or opposition after your favor

My understanding of chapter 2 is that when God gives you a vision, he also raises men and women to see the vision through.

Nehemiah was in a very dangerous situation when asking his King to rebuild his city wall. He was asking the king to rebuild the kings enemy's city.
But the beauty of all this lies in his exaltation of God in prayer.He submitted his worry to the Lord and God answered.

The Christians in the church today need a Nehemiah to lead them back to Gods way. I am saddened to think of how we Christians act and to know how GOD wants us to be. Just one example is the Sabbath keeping. It's just another day now
We wonder why our children seem to have little or no interest in GOD and it's our fault for not taking one day a week and rest and tell them about our GOD. Remember the Blue Law? What Happened to us?
