Verse 2~Worship should take place with all in the family. Both the men and the women were mentioned here and this would promote unity in the family.

V.9 - " ... and all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law." There are a very few that will understand what I am going to say. At every church service - I weep; especially during the song/worship service, and many times during the Pastor's message. It's the sweet spirit that is there , touching everyone, but some don't respond as I do. Jesus is all there is to me.

Much of God's Word is integrity and we have to learn that

V. 5 - " ..... and all the people stood up." And Jesus stood to read from Esais (Isaiah) in Lk. 4. To stand at the reading of God's Word, to give Him respect, honor and glory; the least we can do (and so much more!!!) for what He did for us. He loves to be honored and glorified by His people, because it's what He has taught them - because He loves them; just like any father.

Never, realized so many miracles performed by God to the rebuilding of the wall at Jerusalem. Even starting with the king whom Nehemiah left to fulfill Gods work to build the wall with the materials needed.

this is a timely word. the joy of the LORD IS OUR STRENGH. no matter the troubles in our life, HIS joy is our strength.

The LORD HAS provided the best of food and drink to his people to eat and to share with those who do not have any so he is to be glorified as it is holy to him.

Give to those that have nothing of my abundance : Do not be sorry about it : The joy of the Lord is my strength : For this day is holy unto our Lord. Set apart for His Glory !!!! This is a very encouraging scripture !!!

In nemiah 8 vs 18 what sacred assembly took place on the eight day and which day was the first day and which was the last day

preach the good news of the gospel. verse 8 10 sums it up for eat the fat drink the sweet and send some to them who have not any prepared for them. the JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH. Eat drink of the goodness that God has Blessed me with to those that are without give for this day is Holy unto the Lord . Neither will I be sorry for the joy of the Lord is my strength. I Praise God for His goodness bestowed on me I am so Blessed to be a part of the family of God. I am so Grateful to be able to have a copy of his word . His word is very precious to me.

Just preached about Nehemiah 8:10. The people had every reason to burst into tears because of their history of sin and punishment, which was touched by the reading of the books of Moses. But Gods message at that point is: rejoice! and have a feast devoted to me, for the joy in the Lord is your shelter. because the Lord is merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth (Ex.34:6). So He proved to us in Jesus Christ. Rejoice in the Lord always!

This comment is to Andi Meekcold. Jesus came to bring life to all who will believe in His death, burial, and resurrection. He took your sins upon himself, Andi, so you would not have to go to hell. He is our sacrifice for sin. We receive the atonement through obedience to Acts 2:37,38. Repent(ask forgiveness for all wrongdoing and turn from evil), be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ, and the Lord will fill you with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. He died for you, Andi. Find an Apostolic Holiness or United Pentecostal Church and attend to hear what you must do to be saved. God bless you.

I wonder why the Decalogue is never read at our major yearly convocations, i.e. Camp Meeting. I think it help new believers understand what we believe and remind those who have forgotten, the standard we are called to.

Would i be anywhere near the mark to think that the first public reading of scripture was a civic even? The principal of separation of state and the christian church could be seen as under threat and many people wonder what that could mean?
