GODS QUESTIONMARK ON YOU...Phalieman 1:8-22... 1Reference: whois your reference and who take responsibility for your sins, your problems, your attitudes, Jesus, said will take responsibility- That is Christ...Just as a person will use you as a reference...you have to answer some questions about that person..maybe 2 or three...most of us use or pastor and they will ask ...do they come to church?...are they there on time? ..Do they attend regularly?...Jesus is our reference for God... 2.Return..the return to Philemon as a different changeperson from slave to a person...Paul looked at the slave as a person and not a slave. 3. Reconciliation- Take him backas a brother to serve with you in Christ.....Paul wrote this in his own hand to teach about his personal pledge to the slave...to teach Philimon the rich man...2nd Corintians 5:19---21...The slave changed his life after he had run away and come back as Paul was his reference...
Philemon should have know that every body have a good side as well as bad side. Instead He refuses to recognise what is inside of Onesimus by stopping treating him as a slave.Secondly God has a plan for every one inrespective of how he is. And it is God who showed mercy to both good the bad, the rich and poor alike. The love of God know no boundries.
Obviously this chapter shows the conduct character committment and conversation of a new creature in Christ as Onesimus that Paul stood for and testified for anywhere he goes That is the beauty of being a christian
This book is teaching us as leader to be ready to pay any price without look where this man come from .i see Apost Paul accept the wickness of Onesmo and train him and trust tha he is good now even the place where he came from Apost P sent a latter with him to expresss the new life of onesmo
Paul showed such a self-sacrificing spirit here. He was willing to take the blame for Philemon's slave Onesimus. Even though Onesimus was the one in the wrong, Paul loved him so much that he was willing to pay for what he had done.
Our faith is consistently effective and effectual when we understand, know, and subconsciously and always ACKNOWLEDGE all the GOOD the substitutionary death of Christ has credited to us .
this book have greate lessons:
1.christian love-that we should love others as we love ourselfs
2.true reconciliation that christions should have as we saw how Paul did it between Philemon and Ounesimus Philemon end up receiving Onesimus as bother in the Lord not slave.
3.true sacrifice Paul willing to pay all expenses Philemon incuredbecause of Ounesimus.
4.we see humility that Philemon have of accepting the forgiveness from paul for Ounesimus.
All this shows us that indeed the precence of Christ drastically changes every relationship in life.
The theme of this letter reminds me of another passage in the scriptures... "And the second is likened unto it... love thy neighbor as thyself!" It's so good to see how the scriptures reaffirm one another. So thankful for God's Word and for His Holy Spirit, which reveals, leads, and guides.

Onesimus, a slave, runs away according to the providence of God, so that he could meet the Apostle Paul in prison. Thus he is converted to Christ, and becomes a brother in Christ. Paul is sure now that Philemon will treat Onesimus like a brother, and do more than is required of him. This speaks of the brotherly love that Philemon has for all the saints, and we should emulate that love. God commended His love for us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Let’s Love one another, just as God has loved us.
In doing further research you will find Onesimus was a slave that fled his master, and later was caught and put in prison. Remember Paul was a prisoner. While on his Voyage he was still preaching and teaching the Gospel and winning souls to Christ. I believe as Paul ministered to Onesimus, Onesimus became a believer and Paul saw that he was true in his belief and drew Onesimus into him as a close friend, which later made him the bond servant that Paul speaks of. Remember Paul mentioned that Onesimus was first Unprofitable to Timothy, Philemon etc. But now he would be profitable and that he will no longer be a servant but above servants...God will pick you up from your lowest and will raise you up to a high place in him but you must know how to accept the elevation and work in your assignment under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
I think that this letter is the most profound letters of Paul yet. He shows his appreciation and looks out and wins another soul to God. Onesimus could have been at the end of his chances in life, He and Paul met up at the most critical time in each others life's, I do believe. With the knowledge of knowing Christ everything worked out fine. Bless God.
Who is my master?who is my brother?.I am profitable for nothing unless I have the good master molding and making his clay as he wishes and must make the choice to follow him.
Paul as a prisoner of the Lord Jesus Christ new that Onesimus ran away a slave, but became a brother in Christ. Paul appeals to Philemon to receive him as a brother, and to charge his account for anything that he owed. This is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ who forgave us when he died on the Cross for us who were slaves to sin. Whom the Son has set free is free in deed, and now bond servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. After we have done all that he has commanded us to do, say that we are unprofitable servants, for we only did what he commanded.
It is really warm-heartening to read & feel the genuine camaraderie that existed between Paul, the teacher and Philemon, the willing bond-servant.
In this train of brilliant text, it is very clear that the definition of willing bond-servant and condemned slave are two very extremely different categories.
