Those were very noble & compelling comments you shared Adam. May your spirit & mind be encouraged as you walk this Earth with temptations & tribulations encircling you. The Lord of Grace be your constant companion & strength, so that you may walk with head held high, with great joy in the abundance of grace given to you. Hebrews 4:16; James 4:6; Proverbs 3:34: All of Grace.
  • Adam L Grubb on Philippians 3:10 - 4 years ago
I am suffering but didn't Jesus Christ, as precious Emmanuelle, suffer also? I am undergoing tribulations, but doesn't this mean those eyes of unquenchable fire are upon me? I die daily to my flesh while Jesus gave up the ghost upon the cross, Heavenly Father's only begotten literally died but then was resurrected! I will honor this love, I will respect this power and even offer up my undeserved life to that which is greater than any indeed.

And the word is God .

    Amen .

And we know Jesus is the Son of God not God . Amen .
  • Alex on Philippians 3:2 - 4 years ago
Alex comments on the written word and the living word, Jesus said search the scriptures ( the written word ) in them you think you have eternal life but it is them that testify of ME WHICH IS THE H.G. the living WORD, REMEMBER he said the H.G. will testify of me, My words are Spirit and life but there is no eternal life in the scriptures the written word, doncha see that if eternal life were in the written word our lord shed his blood in vain and the cross was just foolishness. Jesus was the LIVING WORD made flesh and blood a Celestrial being not a terestrial being. I am not of this world you are of this world but i am not of this world you are from beneath i am from above he told the jews. The bible is precious and holy but there is no eternal life in paper and ink, eternal life is only in his blood which is the living we are made clean by his WORD OR HIS BLOOD. Natural Israel were sola scriptura but they stoned almost every prophet that God sent them and rejected the Christ so much for the written word,Mary was not impregnated by the written word but by the living word, Christ Jesus is the LIVING WORD made flesh and blood not the written word made FLESH and blood true Redemption can only come by his blood,Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world i love the bible but it cannot remove the sins of the world . That good seed is the living word not the written word. Its answers to the 2 lights the lesser light is the written word, But the greater light is the living word. But Jesus said if we walk in the nite light th lessser light we are gonna stumble rememeber David ok gbu
  • Encouraging Yourself - In Reply on Philippians 3:2 - 4 years ago
I encourage myself frequently by listening to Billy Graham conferences on Youtube.

He was the loudest voice in my generation.

He just heralded the Word, giving no heed to the nay-sayers. Thousands came forward in his meetings to be born again.

He never minced words or apologized, for the Word (who is Jesus), that he preached.

Jesus is bigger than all of our doubts. If the preacher isn't preaching Christ, then it's another gospel.

    The gospel is the Virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Messiah);

    His sinless life

His crucifixion on the Cross And death for all of mankind's sins

    His glorious resurrection to life

If we know that much, then we know enough to help someone else be saved; born again. John 3 has all the info to learn.

Mathew Henry, verifies the spiritual discipline found in the pure faith of the Gospel. Paul describes this faith as to attaining a prize, running a race. That we should not rely on our flesh ,or our education, or our religious upbringing. Our frame of mind should be to attain the righteousness of Christ. That we can attain the power of his resurrection. fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death. Then can we conquer those who are against us ,with the power of the holy spirit. It is impossible to war against the evils of dogs ,evil workers ,the concision, without this faith in Christ. This power comes from above. From heaven!

" ...being conformable unto his death...'' by faith , we have as Christians entered in to the death & resurrection of the Lord Jesus ... " I live , yet not I ..." ; each time we are faced with a choice to sin or not to sin & choose not to , the death & resurrection process of the Lord Jesus happens in us by faith in Jesus.

It doesn't matter if the body is cremated or buried, we get new bodies in heaven, in Nero's circus many Christians were burned, it is the soul that is important
  • CHRISTLUVYAH - In Reply on Philippians 3 - 4 years ago
That i might know him the power of his resurection and conformed to his death means christ was quickend in his spirit alive but put death in the flesh. the death he died only once and is alive forever in the spirit. so paul wants to put to death his flesh and quickened in his mind

Our terrestrial bodies have no use, once we die. We will have new holy & perfected bodies in Heaven. Therefore, if a believer is cremated (although it isn't mentioned in the bible to be), they will receive a new holy & perfected body and will be accepted in Heaven.

Hello! there is to much human interpretation going on.Please Pray and seek God to give you the correct guidance and answer about cremation. The bible was not meant to be used for human interpretation.Only if the Holy Spirit come upon you. Will you have the power through Christ to interpret the Bible.Remember God is Love it is the greatest of all commandments. We should always be a reflection of that.
  • James Stone - In Reply on Philippians 3 - 5 years ago
What about Christians who were burned at the stake, Christians who drowned at sea, eaten by sharks, lions, burned in a house fire, and a multitude of other ways a person can die and not have a body left behind.
  • Dean - In Reply on Philippians 3 - 5 years ago
Charley, while I agree that many times in the bible we see people being buried and sacrifices are being burned in others. To make the jump to cremation being wrong or a form of committing a sacrifice is huge. The bible dose not agree with this thinking, and a deeper prayerful study on the subject may be very exciting for you to undertake. Best of wishes. Shalom
  • Dean on Philippians 3 - 5 years ago
These bodies are not eternal and are in a fallen state. For we exist in a fallen World with a fallen nature. Praise God once born again we are free from all of it. Soon to receive a new eternal body and purified nature. In a new World and new Heaven. This is the reward and higher calling we press on towards. The Crown of glory and eternal life in Christ Jesus. Run the good race. Shalom

Cremation is not in the Word of God. You are adding to the Word of God. Where is the Christian testimony? When are we going to draw the line? What's next?
  • Vanessa on Philippians 3 - 5 years ago
when we die in Christ we receive new bodies, cremation is alright, this body we live in now will turn to dust ashes to ashes

HI,PAUL ,letting us know we got to let go of the past and move on,let go of stuff and everything that easily beset us ,look toward the higher calling and that.s JESUS CHRIST ,our LORD AND SAVIOR,nothing we have is of any value,if it's not JESUS,keep our eyes on the prize(CHRIST JESUS)everything is loss ,except when we come into the knowledge of CHRIST JESUS,when we have him it is for us GAIN''.

Just if can forget the past that happen to us
  • Lorease on Philippians 3 - 6 years ago
Joyce, As you mentioned, soul of man is the most important of a human b/c that's why Christ died. The bible doesn't speak against cremation as a form of putting away our love ones. Besides, it's cheaper for many that can't afford burial. The Bible does condemn human sacrifice/burning - this act involves offerings humans to gods. At any rate, we'll receive glorified bodies Phil 3:21. Be Blessed
