Tony, I'm sorry that you lost your loved ones and are on drugs. I'm really glad that you quit for a week. I know the Lord is tugging at your heart cuz you picked up your Bible and cried. I went through the same thing at Different times in my life. And God brought me out and delivered me. But I never gave up on him. And he never gave up on me just like he said in his word. He'll never leave us or for sake us. He should've left me along time ago but he didn't and I love him for it. I have a friend named Tony that I'm praying for. Don't give up on God. He won't give up on you. Even when the devil tries to make you think God doesn't want you anymore . God does want you. I'm praying for you tonight.

    Dear Tony,

You have suffered great losses in your family members in such a sort time. I am sorry for your loss and will pray for you. I pray that You God, the God of all comfort will comfort you today and every day that you are sorrowful. I pray that the Spirit will help you overcome your sense of loss and your propensity to use drugs and alcohol. Lord Jesus, deliver Tony from these substances and the power behind the dependency. Direct people to Tony who can help him in this battle and direct Tony away from anyone who will lead him to stumble in his daily walk in sobriety and faith in you. I am thankful, Lord that you draw near to the brokenhearted and those wo can not help themselves overcome their troubles. Only You are able to completely defeat what is warring with Tony. We trust you to accomplish this great deliverance in Your Holy Name, Jesus Christ.

Hi Tony, maybe God is sending you a message to fill your emptiness with Him rather than try to temporary numb the pain which you probably already know never solves the problem and only makes things worse overall.

You might consider giving your burden and your heart to God. This page has some steps that might be helpful, whether you're a new, or just coming back to the faith, or unsure: Link

You can find support here, but its even better to find support in person like a grief group you can meet with. Please don't try to face it alone. You have God, but you can also seek support through groups. It takes effort and is scary going the first time but if you commit to at least a 4 sessions to give it a full effort before giving up you will be doing yourself a favor. You may also consider meeting with a church pastor- call a church office secretary to set that up. It's free. People are there to help you get through your grief and loss. Many others have lost loved ones too and can relate. Sorry for your loss. If you hang in there and make a few of these steps you will be a much better place.

Verse 25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

So I will give you a good word brother :)

Are you saved ? Have you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for your salvation ?

If so here is another bible verse:

    Psalms 27:14

"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."

The Lord will help you just BELIEVE on him and wait for him !

I pray for you my friend !

Be sensible and work your job. It's okay to have a dream but don't leave your sure thing to follow after fleeting pleasures; in the which most are built upon vain fantasies that may or may not come true. Good reference scripture for this verse is 1 Timothy 8-10 and Proverbs 23:4. Also I think the other translations for this scripture are great in conjunction with this one!

Even Jesus asked why? I'm learning to bite my tongue and wait for the world to go back to a state of equilibrium. I tell myself don't ask why.

If I have patience God will guide me.

Hi Lorraine, I assume that you desire to memorize just the Books' titles rather than the content of those Books. If so, the old adage, "Repetition is the mother of learning" comes to mind. You already have the first seven Books memorized - just keep adding the next Book on the list each day, repeating the whole list of Books starting from Genesis. Within two months you would have memorized the whole Bible Book Index. Of course, those Books that have pairs together (e.g. Books of Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, Gospels, Corinthians, Thessalonians, Timothy, Peter & John) can be remembered easily & will shorten the time needed to learn. But the main thing is that the whole list from Genesis must be repeated each day (maybe several times a day) to keep the memory alive & the rhythm going. Some have also put it into a simple tune (e.g. children's rhyme) if that might help.

But if you're thinking of delving a little deeper & quickly learning what each book or chapter or chapter groups, speak about, then I believe that "Walk through the Bible" has some help on this, but it would be more important at this stage to know the Book order & briefly what each Book speaks about - it will increase your confidence with God's Word & in time you will be able to zip through it to find passages or accounts you are looking for. May the Lord bless you as you hunger for more of His Word.

Do you have a easy way my to memorize the books of the Bible? I got the first 7 impeded in my mind. I'm working on the next 7 to 10.

I just wondered if there was an easy way that you could recommend that I could memorize them.

I'm born again and do attend a good KJV Bible teaching church.

    Thanks

Perception, is not faith. Perception is a physical waiting for something to happen. Faith is an actual occurrence, a spiritual occurrence. That which is flesh is flesh, that which is of spirit is spirit. We who have a lively hope live not according to the world, but according to the spirit of Christ who lives in us! Perception is one of those sins that a child of God wars against .Satan would like nothing more then for you to believe that your situation is based on your works (perception) of things. You must give yourself totally to the savior. COMPLETELY! Faith in the risen savior! Perception is of the world! When you except Christ ,you are no longer of the world!

Verse 2 says that a good man obtaineth favor of the Lord. Our God and our Father gives favor to those who are good. Obtaineth in the KJV means to get it presently. Any word in the Bible that adds "eth" on a word means in the present, right now. A good person right now, gets His favor right now. Does He favor some over others? Can He show favor to some and not others without being a respector of persons, which He is not? Absolutely. He is God. He elevates His in life. Who are those that are good and understanding our goodness or righteousness is filthy rags? It's the one who has been born again by His Spirit through what Jesus His Son our Savior and Sanctifier has done at Calvary and the beating before the cross. We obtain favor constantly and daily through Jesus that we acknowledge and follow and lives through our life. He elevates that person in all of their life and what relates to them in life. Hallelujah

Proverbs 12:4 is the highlight of the chapter bcuz a virtuous womans behavior and attitudes shows that she has high morals and standards. Shes more than just a jewel embedded around her neck... To sum it up, a virtuous woman serves God with all her heart, mind, body, and soul! Consider that women of God....!!!

Though a man said LO, I confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh to no profit. Verily, I tell ye, a repented heart shalt believe IT. For it is written in the Scriptures, Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, AND shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Proverbs 12 shows us that true understanding leads to life, and outside of that is apart from God.

We may see a lot of wickedness in this world go unpunished, however it is not rooted. When God brings judgement, Satan and his elements will be destroyed. However, righteous individuals will be firmly rooted in the life to come. ( Psalms 37:9-11,29)
  • Bridgette Alvarez on Proverbs 12 - 7 years ago
Verse 7 says, "The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand." I struggled with this verse because of God's mercies. Then God lead me to the story of Paul, the chief sinner as he called himself, and how he was delivered and I came to the understanding how both could be true. God gives the wicked a chance to repent but if they don't then there is a consequence.

What "land" is vs 11 speaking of, but the land of our own human imagination. We must "till" it (ie. plow to prepare for harvesting crops) to bring forth our righteous desires. Matthew says a good man our of the good treasure of the heart (our imagination) brings forth good things. We till our land by imagining that we've already go that which we desire. Meditating over and over again on the Word
