I love the book of proverbs! So much wisdom here. Meddle with them who are given to change, sounds a lot like don't bother with those who are unstable or wishy-washy in their walk with God or in their treatment toward you.
That's a saying not a scripture. Check these out :D
Psalms 107:20 - He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered [them] from their destructions.
Daniel 6:27 - He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
John 14:26 - But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Psalms 149:4 - For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
Isaiah 12:2 - Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation.
Nahum 1:7 - The LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Psalms 31:14-15 - But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou [art] my God. (Read More...)
It's not in the Bible. It's only a myth to justify people relying on themselves rather than God. Biblically, God helps those who depend on Him and know that without Him, they are completely helpless.
Hi there, I've never heard of such a passage in the Bible. Sometimes people mistranslate and misunderstand verses like the telephone game and end up with an entirely different phrase/meaning they repeat and assume it's from the Bible. I know of other phrases like this that a % believe, but isn't from the Bible. That's why it's best to take anything a man says with a grain of salt and just read God's Word directly. God bless.
Proverbs 24:27;says you prepare your field and make it for yourself then afterwards build your house, many people don't do that first they start building their house without proper and sufficient tools;here I mean marriage life in general, before you get into it first of all make your field ready unless it is then bring your wife and later children as much as you can lead properly with enough and adequate food, education, care, health wise and good spiritual upbringing that they will benefit from and help themselves this definitely refers to man as the head of the household;if the man fails here there is trouble because you find that without proper foundations we get poor children spiritually;wisdom wise and education wise;let all strive to make it good for the field before building your house and God Jehovah will help us if ask from Him,we seek from Him and knock the door God is ready to help us out if only we believe in him only without wavering faith He can yes He can, praise the lord Jesus Christ our/my saviour.
Thank you all for kind comments. I hope in Christ that all of our communication together is for edification and hope that is eternal. I will meditate on how to respond to a few questions into tomorrow or perhaps the following day. Meanwhile I look with interest to what others will write. I wish we could sing a song or two on this website.
Is it possible to find the version of KJV 1611 without any instance of the letter 'j'. I found 29 instances in this version in the Old Testament only. Not many, thankfully, but I am just looking for the most correct English translation before the letter 'j' was introduced into our vocabulary. Thanks
Hello Jesse, that's nice of you to say that. I forgive you for whatever that entailed. I read and respond to a lot of comments sometimes and don't remember the specifics, but don't wish to remember either. Thank you and take care.
Yes indeed, sleep is good. I think I might fit that description of the sloth, as I do enjoy my sleep. I mainly wanted to respond to the first thing you posted to tell you that I owe you an apology. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I overstepped my boundaries and I do realize my fault. You owe me nothing. All I ask is that you accept my apology and forgive me for be offensive toward you. It is never my intent to offend a brother or sister in Christ, but I have failed. Again, please accept my apology.
KWAW, have you tried sleeping 2-3 hours only over an extended period of time? If you have had to do it to maintain your regimen of studies & research, you will soon find that your waking hours are not going to be very good. You will get very sleepy, lose concentration, maybe get irritable, become unhealthy, etc. Adequate sleep is a must & should be seen as a far greater need than even achieving success. Sleep is important to help your body & mind recover, heal & stay in focus during your waking hours.
My suggestion is that you choose the time of day that suits you best to do your research & writing of papers (sometimes it is better in the early hours of the morning when the mind & body are fresh). If so, then go to bed earlier (7:30 or 8 pm) so that you can get adequate sleep before starting early the next day. And in a short time, your body will adjust to the new time schedule. But please don't neglect your rest time; and don't neglect your time in prayer & God's Word which are able to refresh your spirit & guide you through your day.
Deep sleep is when the body repairs the Immune system, and other body breakdowns.
Turn off your media when you're not watching it. It's actually a conduit for evil.
Believe it or not, Isaiah heard computers. Isaiah 8:18-22.
Note: familiar spirits (demons), follow families. They can hang around at an old house and "haunt" it, till a relative of the family shows up. Christians can make them leave by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
I turn my media off unless there is a particular program I want to watch. I don't watch 95% of it. I read proverbs to my grandson. He prays over all our meals. He's 7 and toothless LoL
Did you think for a minute that this might be a spiritual condition of a soul?.... Too much slumber, too much sleep...leads to walls broken down (fences) and fields full of thorns (thoughts).
So yes get your sleep, but dont neglect your spiritual life.
Hello, good question. It's necessary for us to get adequate sleep in order to function. Jesus slept- even slept on a boat during a storm, so he was probably pretty tired. So, I think getting 8 hours sleep is normal and good. Perhaps slothful means something more severe, like someone sleeping all day. 15-20 hours and doing nothing and accomplishing nothing. I suspect that is closer to what a sloth means. The sloth animal sleeps 15-18 hours a day.
the bible says in proverbs chapter 24:33 "Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man"
but according to studies, it is essential for man to have at least 8 hours of sleep, to help the brain function properly coupled with other benefits derived from having a good 8 hours of sleep.
i am a student, and also very passionate about my ambitions of becoming a successful business mogul. so therefore which advise do i heed to.
if i keep up learning and researching and avoid sleep....maximum 2-3hours of sleep only out of 24 hours...would that be helpful?
I serve a Mighty God who gives confirmation He is Alive and He is Real..I love the Lord..And He loves me!! Don't ever let ANYTHING trick you into believing otherwise..Amen
"The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small." As it is said in another Psalm, "I hate [vain] thoughts; but thy Law do I love." We who follow Jesus, follow Him as His disciples; which means a course in life directed in discipline first of the mind. Discipline is the muscle that works out sanctification.
The answer to this question posted by Rita is simple. The various versions stem from two veins:
Man's desire to produce a more accurate version (such as the NASB) and man's rebellion against the established Word of God. If sinful man doesn't like what he reads, he simply rewords it, or deletes it. Man will answer for his rebellion, be rest assured.
Rita Lee; "Accommodating an agenda" is a good way to put it! There IS an answer to your question, but its complicated and lengthy: you might enjoy doing a research and study of the subject; but be forewarned, there are many misleading voices and much wrong information! In short, there were basically two streams; the Anointed and True Text, and evil men's manipulation and corruption of the Word.
I prefer try to live in accordance to the KJV version of the Holy Bible, and refer to the Basic Bible. I can't grasp the necessity of all the other versions. It angers me that man attempts to manipulate everything, even something as simple as a play on words to accomodate an agenda. Why so many !!??
This applies to pro-lifers who rebuke abortive women. Pro-lifers will be blessed for rebukeing them.

Just re-write that in your own words.
Always ask the Holy Spirit to teach what the whole them of the chapter is. (He's your teacher)
