Just when one is on the ' 'blink to boil ' ' reflecting on such a verse can be crucial to stablising the temper! So previleged to have the WORD on a tap of a finger.

    This is very inspiring word
  • Franca goromon on Proverbs 29:25 - 10 years ago
there is need to fear man for any reason, all we have to do is to put our trust in him who saved us from the bondage of sin and we shall be safe...
  • Jo jo on Proverbs 29 - 10 years ago
If we don 't seek the Lord for help we will fall in the pit of eternal damnation. The evil one will grasp us, then their would be no real reason why Jesus died. Repent and reflect where we are at daily as roots set in like weeds
  • Dee on Proverbs 29:1 - 10 years ago
This scripture writing let 's us know that if Christ hadn 't come we wouldn 't stand a chance. Grace and mercy stepped in right on time. It also allows us to know that, if we continue in sin, grace won 't help us. Romans 6 1
  • Toni on Proverbs 29:1 - 10 years ago
This is a scary verse. At some point, the refusal of the wicked to turn from his way will lead to his demise. God's mercy will end and so will his life.

A fool is one that says no to God. The tongue is an unruly evil ; who can tame it; only with the help of Holy spirit given to us of God. If we want to .we can. Thank God for His Mercy and Grace to help in time of need !!!
  • BSP on Proverbs 29:11 - 11 years ago
Someone who always "flies off the handle" is considered a fool according to this verse. This shows the importance of self-control if we are to be considered wise.
  • DANNY DENTON on Proverbs 29 - 11 years ago
THIS CHAPTER IS A WAEUP FOR ALL MEN.WE SHOULD ALL BE EVER SO MINDFUL OF THIS WORD AS WELL AS ALL THE WORD. GOD BLESS.

I know the Lord has a plan for me. I have been dealing with the snare of the lion, all of my life. Today I accept it, recognize it, pray on it, & move on. The Lord knows my heart. My joys, my fears, and my sorrows. He didn't carry me this far to leave me...Can I get an "AMEN"!
  • Jenn on Proverbs 29 - 11 years ago
Prov29:2 This verse highlights the importance of who our leaders are; here and all over the world. I read late at night for peace! However, the gained knowledge is more than anything; because it will keep me. Be blessed!

I was abused by my ex-husband for many years and feared him. Proverbs 29:25 released and freed me from the years of fear. I thank God for keeping me "Safe and Free".
  • Timothy Wayne George on Proverbs 29 - 11 years ago
Where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keeps the law, happy is he. This verse speaks of leaders, and the importance of having a vision for what God wants for the people. To do justice, love mercy, and walk humble before the Lord is what God wants us to do. We should meditate day and night on this book of the law. Happy shall be the person who keeps the law of his God, for he shall be as a tree planted by the water. May the Lord give wisdom, to all those who are in authority, and the vision to make the right decisions for the good of all the people.

  • Andrew on Proverbs 29:25 - 12 years ago
I have a very paralyzing fear, just fear, it may be fear of man. I was raised in a very abusive environment, as a child abused by a brother for sixteen years, I have forgiven him but still suffer from the long bad experience. I have a CD, “Healing the child within”, but that bad experience still often comes to my mind, it's fear of man, my problem thanks. Andrew

My comment is those who are blessed by God and have got servants in their homes, should take proper care of them and should not maltreat them for no one knows the future of those servants..

I encourage the daily reading of Proverbs to all that are ready to enter into the knowledge of Wisdom and Living an AWEsomely Better life. Thank you for the further insight into the 29:18 The neck turning to point the Eyes= Seeing the Vision or plans of God and my sweet Jesus' Love and the hardened Heart being given tenderheartedness to a life. On purpose. I Love this
  • Reggie on Proverbs 29 - 13 years ago
Vs. 1 Sounds a sobering warning, for folks hearing the gospel over and over again, without any movement towards repentance. Being often reproved they harden their hearts.King James says "Hardeneth their necks", which the neck turns the head and the head has 2 eyes to see. Jesus said,"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. Jo.3;14 For healing all the Israelites had to do was turn their neck and look on the serpent on the pole. These who hardeneh their necks, then forbid their eyes to turn and look to Jesus on the pole (cross)!! That is a hard heart that refuses to even turn the neck and look and consider. They will suddenly be destroyed and How sad, for it will be over, without remedy. All the cure for the total needs of humankind, spirit, soul, & body, both for the present and all eternal future is only in Jesus!! One rejects at their own peril!!
Vs.18; Could it then be that "without a vision the people perish" is saying the same thing? If one had a vision of hell and then a vision of heaven, no sane person would choose hell!
2Cor.4;3&4 But if if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
The answer is don't go there, but rather recieve the Word of God, the light and lamp, which gives you light for vision, and be tenderhearted and turn your neck and look to calvary and live a happy life,a holy life; 2nd part of vs 18 he that keeps God's Word in his life is happy!!! agape---reggie---
