For all my brothers and/or sisters going through adivorce and the triala it commplicates, God does bless the broken the broken road which leads us too a signifigant other. When a child or childern are involved consider at that point to look up and see Jesus! Stephen did and consider you are already at his right hand and He is holding your hand. If your a true man of God like myself; then, Women infants and childern first. God bless us (forgive mis-understandings and our broken roads) for in the finalities of finalities He trufully is watching...
Hi Kataleanna. There was no other woman (or man) before the Genesis account of Creation. In fact, Genesis 3:20 states it like this: "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living." To be the mother of all living, implies that no one else could have been around, or before her, to bear children & start the human race - to grow & spread.
If there was another woman, man or even another human race before Adam & Eve, then the Bible doesn't declare it, indeed, the whole creation account strongly suggests that this great creative act of God was His first Initiative in preparing & inhabitating the World that He had prepared for His Glory.
Yes I do believe that but it is hard to find a wife of that standard and if you do please keep her, fellas please honor your wife that is a good thing in Gods sight Thank you Lord for my wife!!!
18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an HELP meet for him.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an HELP MEET for him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now BONE OF MY BONE and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: AND THEY SHALL BE ONE FLESH.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
As long as we reverence the exclusivity of the marriage there will be less problems. Often relatives, siblings, parents, friends; try to speak their ideas into your marriage. So in verse 24 we see that it is dangerous to allow others to judge your marriage. They didn't have cell phones back then. :/
By being loyal to each other, and not permitting others to offer comment on you or your spouse, you will save on trips to counselors or attorneys.
Television prime time is harmful to marriage. People feel threatened by a persons healthy marriage and family relationships with kids.
Unsolicited advise gets met with: "I always check in the Bible for my advise." Really, Deuteronomy and Leviticus have useful principals. What builds up; what tears down// 1 Corinthians 7
We live in a society that feels threatened by anything remotely "religious". I made all the mistakes, so I really want you to succeed.
Wives should not carry the entire responsibility for healthy discussions in a marriage. Resentment and disrespect should not be in his vocabulary ladies. 1 1 Peter 3:7 says honor the wife as the weaker vessel so your prayers be not hindered. The wife is the most important person on earth so speak to ladies as such because God is serious about the way men talk to women. God will not answer your prayers so think before you speak to a lady.
Verse 30 suggests that the Proverbs 31 woman is a woman who fears the Lord will be praised. I think fearing the Lord might be the first step to these other fine characteristics.
Proverbs 31 are instructions of a wise Mother to her son King Lemuel (we believe, it refers to Solomon; Lemuel may have been a name given as a 'pet name' or because of its meaning: "from God, belonging to God). So coming from a Mother to her son as instructions concerning his rule, his judgements & choice of women, gives this dialogue that very personal touch. Verses 10-31 may be wise words coming from a Mother to her son, but may not always be wise words from a husband to his wife. Unless your wife has so enquired about this passage or about this subject, you may have a difficult time sharing with her from these verses & not expect some flak.
Proverbs 31:3-9 are Mother's words to Solomon concerning a wholesome righteous rule: not given to an immoderate love for women (he failed here as you know) (v 3); not given to strong drink (vv 4-7) ; & to judge righteously (vv 8,9).
Proverbs 31:10-31 are the traits that a mother-in-law would expect her son to seek after in a 'virtuous wife'. Anything less than these would not get her approval & I sincerely doubt whether any of Solomon's 700 wives & 300 concubines fulfilled this criteria either. Bearing in mind that much of the descriptions given here are what was expected of a subservient wife in a male dominated home & society, so the necessary modifications need to be made when sharing with today's woman.
The wife should exemplify virtue & wisdom (vv 10,26,29). She can be fully trusted (in both household & financial matters) (vv 11,12). She is a hard worker, rising early, sleeping late (vv 13-19,24,27). Her honourable, God-fearing stance will be noticed before any outward beauty (vv 25,30). What traits you find here that are also in your wife should be emphasized - a listening appreciative ear is almost a guarantee. Hopefully, she will learn of what God looks for in women.
As well, both the apostles Paul & Peter give their description of godly women ( 1 Timothy 2:9,10 & 1 Peter 3:1-5) which you might find useful.
For me to perceive that your merchandise is good, is learning more toward how she knows her value, she knows she is beautiful and she is high quality without being told, and she also appreciate the gift of a husband Go gives her and recognizes the value of that merchandise as well, she is satisfied, she perceiveth that her merchandise is good.
I remember as a kid, that their were certain woman including my mom would clean the Church every Friday or Saturday; for no pay. As time rolled alone. People became sick or past away.my mom an one other lady I can't remember, took on that duty and bought their own supplies, until they couldn't any more for years. Do good works before night fall, because when night falls no man can work. In reference to proverbs 31.
Call 700 Club and let their prayer warriors keep your mom's name on that list.
1-800 700 7000.
Be comforted, no matter the outcome. My mother died a couple years ago. I thought if I could just get her on her feet, all would be better. I still miss seeing her on the sofa, watching her favorite shows. Have someone come do your Mom's hair.
God sees your work and searches our hearts. As this could be a trial to see where you heart is. Pray to your father in heaven and lay your burden upon him he is just and will help and comfort you.
My mother is battling stage 4 cancer it is highly incurable. She can barely walk and will be in a wheel chair as her pelvic bone from the tumor is about to break.
She told me the other day as she cried, if I could just walk across my floor to get a cup of water. The tears in her blue green eyes crushed me and I wanted to trade places with her.
I hope God will heal her cancer, I pray for her to walk again. She would rejoice if she could clean her home and bathe her self. We have to examine ourselves and be thankful for each day we have and to remember not take anything for granted.
Hello, are you talking about cleaning the church and no one else is doing it? Are you volunteering or paid? People are scared right now from viruses. If the church is already clean and if no meetings, why does it need to be cleaned again? I don't know the answer to your question without more information. Volunteering is often a thankless job. Jesus healed people and only 1 out of 10 took the time to thank him. Such is the way of giving as we are called. God bless you.
May God help me to be this kind of woman. In my youth I strayed, now that I am older, I am close to the Lord, however I still fall so short of this Proverbs 31 woman. God help us not to get caught up in whether a woman should/should not work outside the home. Let us just seek to be this woman with our whole heart, with the help of Jesus, wherever our life is called to be right now, doing any task at all, let us do it unto HIM. Colossians 3:23:
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Deborah was a judge in the bible and Esther was a queen in the bible....so should work for women only be for those with a big assignment? A virtuous woman is not just found in housewives...it's a woman who is obedient to the voice of the Lord and staying true to who she is in the Lord. Women helped in Pauls ministry in the new testament as well...God has definitely given women assignments in life
Ok. To each their own I guess, but in this economy few can survive on one salary. I'll be sure and tell all the female nurses and teachers that they need to pack up and go home. How will your sick be cared for? How will your children be educated? Let me guess? Home school? Do not disrespect the education and career that I have. You haven't had the experiences I have had.
Genesis 2:18
Moses is adding additional information about the creation of Adam and Eve. The part when God takes one of Adams ribs to make Eve.
It took a RIB BONE to make Eve. Adam has just so many rib bones. You are twisting scripture and cannot prove your statement.
Adams Geneology chart will prove this. Time was created in Genesis 1:1 "in the beginning".
Mishael
Adam and Eve were created following the 7th day. Genesis 2:1-7
Kinda' indicates that there WERE other women a day or two before Eve.....
If there was another woman, man or even another human race before Adam & Eve, then the Bible doesn't declare it, indeed, the whole creation account strongly suggests that this great creative act of God was His first Initiative in preparing & inhabitating the World that He had prepared for His Glory.

" Proverbs 31 Commentary"
There are numerous teachings on her valuable ness as a woman, to her husband, children, friends and town. Good reading there

Is she a Christian?
