CHAP. CXLIX.
1 The Prophet exhorteth to praise God for his loue to the Church, 5 and for that power, which hee hath giuen to the Church to rule the consciences of men.
1Praise yee the Lord: Sing vnto the Lord a new song: and his prayse in the Congregation of Saints.1
2Let Israel reioyce in him that made him: let the children of Zion bee ioyfull in their King.
3Let them praise his Name in the dance: let them sing praises vnto him with the timbrell and harpe.3
4For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: hee will beautifie the meeke with saluation.
5Let the Saints be ioyfull in glory: let them sing aloude vpon their beddes.
6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth: and a two edged sword in their hand:6
7To execute vengeance vpon the heathen: and punishments vpon the people.
8To binde their Kings with chaines: and their Nobles with fetters of yron.
9To execute vpon them the iudgement written: This honour haue all his Saints. Praise ye the Lord.9
