    Psalms 101 portrays the charater of the king to whom is to be given the kingdom. lt shows how Christ would be tested by suffering whether Personal or sympatheic. Speaks to David to behave himself wisely (myself) when he was with Saul and when Saul was attempting to kill him. Speaks of turning aside or deviating from the word. Regrettably most organized religions works from a foundation of deceit. Satan functions by telling lies to the ones who will listen. This speaks of the millennial reign when Christ puts down the "wicked of the land."

    Comment to Rico;
    A true man of God if he is preaching the words of our Lord God will in love tell the congregation of the faults of man and it may hurt some. lf he is preaching another gosple than that of our Saviour, then maybe it's time to find another church to worship in. Remember when we are told something that we do not like then we may become angry. You must judge by "The Word" what is right. Jesus said, men would hate me. Just look at this world today. Hold no man at fault for anything, God will do that. Find another church where you feel the love of God and pray and that will cleanse through your hurt.
    God Bless You.

    I had to dwell on this scripture all morning because I was dealing with a situation that was not the media but it hurt me so that a man of God could be so devious in his actions that I could not set and listen to him preach the word. I could not set and watch him just knowing his actions. That's a hurting feeling when you know you are trying hard to do what the Lord would want you to do only to have deceit to stand before you.

    I believe this verse is straight forward and doesn't leave much room for confusion. If a person truly wants to be a follower of Christ, anything that leads a person away from God's principles or distracts them away from God, would be something that they shouldn't want to have anything to do with. Human tendency though is to get as close to the line of sin as possible without crossing it, but should be instead to stay as far as possible from that line, since it's there for our protection not to prohibit us. Of course it comes down to our personal choice, but just don't kid yourself, God will not be mocked and we will ultimately have consequences for our choices, so choose carefully because our choices not only affect us but everyone else around us also. Personally I believe that media, has been the main tool that Satan has used to lure people away from God and to destroy the family.

    This verse helps us to see that whatever might damage our clean conscience and our relationship with Jehovah is for us a good-for-nothing thing. We also would never want to stumble anyone else

    I agree with Rodney and Lisa, we really have to be careful about what we take in to our minds, secular tv and news is so perverted for the most part with uncleaness everywhere, so we really need to be guarded about what we take in, keeping ourselves nourished body, mind, spirit, soul, in the things of God, stay strong my friends !
  • Lisa on Psalms 101:3 - 11 years ago
    I think Rodney made a good point" we can't throw out our Tv's but we should watch what we watch. I got first hand has I watched the music industry and it seem like it cleave to me. I felt sorry that they were so lost but I didn't realize how much I constantly worried about what I say. But the Holy Spirit made it clear I am to stay out of such places because " It is a place of demon's and unclean spirits! They have chosen to have money over the love of God!

    This speaks to me of the age of media we live in. There is so much garbage on tv these days. We can't throw our tv or our computers out and live in the dark, however we should be so careful as to what we watch. I meditate on this scripture a lot because it is a great battle for me to stay holy.

    IT pays to extinguish deception from a RESPONSIBILITY set before you.HAVING to check behind someone is ENERGY zapping TIME CONSUMING.INTEGRITY is a "BIG" WORD not a "bad" word.LIVE FOR JESUS AS IF HE WERE WATCHING.....I CHOOSE LIFE..

    Matt.18vs15... ''If your brother sins againt you.go ye and showeth his.just between the two of you.if he listen to you.you have won your brothers over.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Psalms 101 - 12 years ago
    GOD LOVES RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND HATES LIES. HE WHO SPEAKS LIES WITH HIS NEIGHBOR IS NOT A CHILD OF GOD. DAVID IS A MAN AFTER GOD'S HEART, AND HE LOVES WHAT GOD LOVES. DAVID WAS QUICK TO REPENT, WHEN HE DID SIN AGAINST GOD, AND HE WAS RESTORED. LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, MIND, AND SOUL. LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. THE WHOLE LAW IS IN THESE TWO COMMANDS.
  • Osuka joseph c on Psalms 101 - 12 years ago
