Thank you Chris for taking time to respond to my questions, your answer is easy to understand and I appreciate the scriptures you gave me to refer to! God bless you for caring about someone confused.
To be born confess Romans 10:9+10 and don't confess all your sins, just confess the saviour from sins, trust Almighty God knows we were all born a mess I pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ unto whom all power Has been Given until the end where it says He Jesus will hand everything back to God its in Revelations
My personal belief is that one can pray to both God & His Son Jesus Christ. Even though I generally address God my Father in prayer, I also find that I can speak to Jesus, to thank Him & praise Him. Why I say this is because in our new relationship with the Godhead, God is our Father & Jesus is our Brother. Just as one would seek the help & advice from an earthly father & maybe the understanding & support of an earthly brother, we can even see God & His Son in a similar way, praying to them, praising them, & seeking help. And we should also be able to pray to the Holy Spirit residing in us, especially in those times of trial & testing or for strength & comfort.
As well, we see in Scripture that people prayed to Jesus. You can look at these verses: 1 Corinthians 1:1,2 (calling upon the Lord Jesus' Name); 2 Corinthians 12:8,9 (Paul's thorn in the flesh); John 9:38 (Jesus was worshipped); Revelation 5:8-13 (Jesus worshipped in Heaven as God is); Acts 7:59; Acts 9:6 & many more.
And No, you don't need to speak in other tongues to experience re-birth. Re-birth is effected by God's Spirit as soon as you realize that you're a sinner & that the only hope of your forgiveness & salvation is by coming to the Cross of Christ where He gave His Life in your place. Once you repent of your sins, calling upon the Name of the Lord ( Romans 10:13), God hears your prayer (because it was He by His Spirit that drew you to this point of anguish & need to be saved). And 'all who come to Him He will in no wise cast away, or reject' ( John 6:37). God then indwells you by His Spirit making you a new woman with a clean heart with new & holy desires to please Him with your life. His Spirit also gives us gifts, some to speak with new tongues, & other gifts ( 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Also see verses 28-31), but to speak in other languages is not a requirement or proof of your rebirth experience & of the Holy Spirit in you. A changed life, heart, will & true love for all, characterize a Christian.
The Hebrew word for 'pitieth' (or, pity), means 'to love or to have compassion'. So the metaphor is of an earthly father who naturally demonstrates love, care & compassion. As the father, so too, the pure & immense Love of God, our Heavenly Father, is shown to all those who fear (stand in awe) of Him. And so His Love & compassion toward us would far surpass anything our earthly parents could ever give us & we can have much joy & confidence in this glorious fact.
This is Because it talks about how Beautiful and Compassionate The Lord Jesus IS always towards us. When the storms of life try to overload us with issues, Psalm 103 Reminds
Us that The Lord is still in control and Loves us.
What a great post to read. I actually shed a few tears. I read this earlier. Just after getting off my knees asking, our Father, for forgiveness on some things I shouldn't have done. How much we truly need our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. The love we receive from God is irreplaceable and priceless. Thank you again for you gracious post.
Onyekachukwu Ogechi Levinus Alaka on Psalms 103:8 - 4 years ago
And plenteous in mercy. Rich in it, quick in it, overflowing with it; and so had he need to be or we should soon be consumed. He is God, and not man, or our sins would soon drown his love; yet above the mountains of our sins the floods of his mercy rise.
"Plenteous grace with thee is found,
Grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound,
Make and keep me pure within."
All the world tastes of his sparing mercy, those who hear the gospel partake of his inviting mercy, the saints live by his saving mercy, are preserved by his upholding mercy, are cheered by his consoling mercy, and will enter heaven through his infinite and everlasting mercy. Let grace abounding be our hourly song in the house of our pilgrimage. Let those who feel that they live upon it glorify the plenteous fountain from which it so spontaneously flows.
the world will remember you no more but God remembers you, keep his covenant love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, and strength, Love your neighbor as yourselves. We praise him and thank Him for all things, people like to think they are greater and worthy of praise, I beg to differ God sees nobody greater then another, live a worthy life for Him, not for man, did He not hear Abel's blood cry out, He hears the righteous who love Him and serve Him. We will glorify Him and sit in His presence, soon enough make sure you have enough oil to keep your lamp burning. God Bless
Psalm 103:2 reminds us of one of the little foxes that spoils the fine, and that little fox is forgetfulness in the believers. Hence the reason why the Psalmist cautions us not to forget to give thanks to God for blessings of yesterday!
Are the souls after death really having no conscious thoughts?
Revelation Chapter 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the SOULS souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: (souls under the altar of God)
10 And THEY CRIED they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? (For being dead the souls are crying out for vengeance.)
When it says the dead know nothing, maybe it is referring to their knowledge of what is happening on the earth?

Good Samaritan Luke 10:30-47
The Poor and Needy; Matthew 25:35-40
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat:
I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me:
I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, YE HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME.
Psalm 103 let's us know that there is nothing that can withstand the power of God, it also humbles us reminding us that we are "dust" . He is all knowing and powerful.
When you read psalms 103 it should make you ever so grateful that we a god who forgives our sin and heals all our diseases and redeems our souls from we so rightfully desire. who loves us so....in spite of the wretched our past and our oft times transgressions now... you can't help but have a heart of gratefulness, thankfulness praise, and worship and servitude towards the living and holy god.
the psalm writer teaches us how to worship the everlasting, eternal, all-wise and righteous god, who is filled with love and compassion towards his children.
When seeking the Master ELOHIM while HE maybe found, it should be in total faith that passes all understanding. The people of this world have lost all hope and faith in the true ELOHIM that made heaven and earth. Psalms 103 speaks volume about our CREATOR desire to forgive us when judgement and doom is our reward. We should give HIM the highest praise and bless HIS holy name. Let us do HIS good pleasure, and show fourth HIS glory in love for one another. HE will save us, HE will heal us and forgive us of all our sins.
Psalm 103 is the greatest change point for those who wonder
But if read very carefully carefully and understand it your life never be the same
I call it a greatest because touch my life and I hope it will touch others as well
It is because of God's goodness n mercy that you are still alive today so why don't you bless him with your soul n all that is within you. For GOD said he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Pure peacefulness. I came upon 103 from a referral of another source. Certainly makes a wretched one like me rejoice in the Lord and gives me sustenance to feed my repentance which cgor me is a dailey practice agsi st that which I struggle. Praise Yahweh and Yeshua!
I will Praise You O Lord in this life and the life eternal. The scope of Your love creates so much wonder and Joy Divine. Psalm 103 and 104 have given me pause of just how brief life is here in the flesh, but you mercy so great it takes my breath away O Lord. Bless the Lord O My soul! I love Jesus Christ Your Son with all that I am. Make me a blessing to others O Lord. Amen
