  • Timothy Wayne George on Psalms 29:11 - 11 years ago
Yahweh will give strength to His people. Yahweh will bless His people with peace. This is a song for the Dedication of the Temple by King David. We must give the glory that is due to Jehovah, and all honor. We must worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness. The voice of the Lord is majestic over all the earth, and He alone is worthy of our praise. Heaven will be continually praising God, and we are getting a glimpse of this in this Psalm. The Lord will be King forever.
  • Ighereje Austin on Psalms 29 - 12 years ago
It is a Psalm that tells us how powerful the voice of God is, and how God can use his voice to terrify our adversaries when we give the glory due to his name.
  • Ephraim Isobara on Psalms 29 - 12 years ago
Through his Holy inspiration David discovered what the Lord needs from us. 'the Glory due his name' through worship. God in his reaction to our worship speaks. David describes the character of his words. He likened great warring countries of his time 'Lebanon and Syria' like a little bull. David was a military ruller, Might, Strength and Peace means so much to him. He concludes by acknowledging that Strength and Peace are God's blessings to his worshippers

From the opening, David teaches us to give to God His deserved honor. Then,David acknowledges the power of God's voice and spoken word. David finishes the psalm recognizing the Lord's eternal diety, and how He under-girds His people with strength and peace.
What a great psalm for an example of understanding the character of God.
