Be still and know that I am God! When the storms of life beat upon the foundation of our faith, when we experience the dark night of the soul, it is there in that dark place that we question our calling, our many efforts, and as it is the custom of our enemy, a spirit of depression will seek to draw himself next to us, it is then that we are reminded "Be still, [for we have not received a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind. Fear not, So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.]and know that I am GOD!

Jesus wants us to be still, and know that He is God. I will be exalted among the heathen; I will be exalted in the earth. No matter what we face in life, Jesus is with us, and He promises never to forsake us; He said I will be with you always, until the end of the world. The nations will be in an uproar, but Jesus is going to make wars cease. The God of Jacob is our refuge. The Lord of Host is with us. So don't fear what the nations fear, for only wait and see the salvation of the Lord.

Be still and wait on him, because he has it all under control.

In every situation we face in life, we must have the knowledge that God is working for our freedom.

Wait, just wait God shows himself whenever I am calm.

It means that we should not be overtaken by anxiety, God is above all, and he is able to fight for us in whatsoever matter.

God is teaching us what true trust is, what true faith is; it is to trust Him to any extent, to be quiet in the face of trouble, to exhibit a panic-free peace in the light of the understanding that He is able even in the most impossible situations.

Teach me Lord to be still. For the Lord is the author and finisher of my faith.

God is good all the time!

l always like the all pages in Psalms. Also 46:10, because among David’s book, it’s the best. Amen!

Ps. 46:1. God has shown me time after time that for those who believe and hold on to His word, that He is indeed our refuge and very present help in times of trouble. I don't understand Holyfire47's reference to Shakespeare in connection with this Psalm, please can someone explain?
