Part 1: Referring to the celestial court, the sons of God are ANGELIC beings NOT mortals. Clearly defined in this passage where they are identified as Gods i.e. sons of God . Can't miss that. What's tell-telling though is in verse 7-8 where a supreme GOD is chastising some for judging unjustly..and creating disorder. The verdict is doling out of punishments Ye shall Die like men .
Psalms 82:6 is taken out of content. Psalms 82:6 " I have said, Ye are gods and all of you are the children of the most High." God is saiding you belong to me,and all of you are the children of the most High. You are children of the most High God is referring to Himslef. God is our creator ,He created everything and there is only one God. Other gods that GOD speak of are false gods.
This verse is regarding fallen Angels! It's time for the truth. Horrible shame that God's people have been so blinded and not taught the truth. Just horrible! God's people perish for lack of knowledge. Now, the truth is being revealed! Fallen Angels!
I think "gods" was referring to those in positions of authority, in particular, judges. These judges were supposed to protect the poor and good via Romans 13 and punish evil but they were letting evil flourish while ignoring the poor.
there's only one god - but the term 'god' sounds like it's being used facetiously in regards to the powerful who take themselves too seriously, yet at the same time doing nothing with their power to help the needy. (Kim Jong Un, i'm looking at you). The other Kim's are dead, incidently. The super rich/powerful's biggest fear is losing their riches/power( hence their perceived godhood)
This psalm was quoted by Jesus in John 10:34 specifically indicating that reborn Christians, being the sons of God are gods and it comes with the responsibilities listed in verse 3 and 4.
It warns us not to remain in darkness but to open our eyes to what our new purpose is and that as Christians we should be world changers by the love and power of our Most High Father and God.
This got pass the council in 325AD this is a word for word true saying this is not for the faint of heart or preachers dealing in dirt doing it in the name of the Lord if you have ears you al be able to hear if not you will have a small opion
This refers to the second set of fallen Angels, of whom mated with the daughters of man. This was there judgement to die as mere mortals, because before they were immortal before they fell from grace like one of the princes who fell from grace the first time satan .
Stop taking one verse and making something new out of it. It's about being judges, God is the ultimate authority and JUDGE; He is telling us as he has in other verses and there is an entire book named "Judges"...."don't you know you will "JUDGE" angels"?..."I say this to your shame, is there not one among who can "JUDGE" among the brethren"?.. We are judges NOT gods. There IS ONLY ONE God, period.
I have the conviction that this scripture points us to the fact that we were originally made in the image of God and empowered to live as such. Though the efficacy was lost to sin at a point but grace recovered it in Christ Jesus through His finished work at Calvary. Therefore as born again folks, we should live and reason/act as God in all things for we are just in the world but not of the world
Maybe it simply means what it says smh. Ye are gods, but man manipulates the meaning to satisfy his own human ego. Who else could God hold a council with? Other gods perhaps??? Stop analyzing and just read the words aloud. They make sense all by themselves
This does indeed mean we are all Gods just as the scripture says...perhaps in this case we not change the meaning but instead change how we define what a true God is,not rationalizing what the scripture says to benefit the foundation of any religious belief... if we change the way we look at things maybe the things we look at will change
"Ye are god". Read John 10:34 -35 for a better understanding coming from the mouth of Jesus. 35 especially explains it " if He called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken. We understand in John 1:1 that God is "the Word" which implies those professing the inspired Word of God are taking upon them His characteristics and nature but not His position as God.
I believe what this verse is talking about is both fallen angels' and humans who call themselves gods' and act like a gods'. They stand before God to be judge for wrongful acts' they commit against the world we live in. We all are Divine. It's just our actions' that proves otherwise. So, in that sense, I'm going to take this as a warning for all those who don't take judgement and actions' serious.
V. 5 - " ... and all the 'foundations' of the earth ... "; the 'gods' here are the Jewish leaders who led the Jews into idolatry. They had not followed the laws of God wholly - the 'laws' of a nation are it's foundation; just as the way the U.S. is going. Jn. 10:34; Ps. 82:6; It's interesting that in Jn.10:34 Jesus said, " ... I said ... " - concerning Ps. 82:6.
"Thou shall have no other Gods before me."
He stands before the council of those MINOR GODS and judges them.
Yes we can be as, jesus told the Pharases the scripture that says we each are or by free will a part of GOD
Ti's hatd to grasp the thought that there are other gods and those who preach today do not want to breach that topic.
When GOD walked in the Garden he was not alone,,
Im thinking the fallen angels that somehow found a way to be in flesh and had children with human women and had "mighty men" and/or "giants" in land before and after the flood mentioned so many times in the Bible. Where seen as "gods" to the human population(Verse 5) But God the Father reminds them(sons of God/nephilim) that they shall DIE (like MEN) and fall like one of the princes. (verse 6)
Ye are Gods pssessive? I think not. This is not how Jesus would translate this psalm. Jesus used this psalm to defend against the charge of blasphemy by the pharisees.
This is talking about human authorities, little gods, judging men wrongly, and they will die like those being judged. It 's not talking about pre-adamic sons of God fallen angels.
I believe It is God speaking to the fallen angels. They were created by God and posses mighty powers. They chose to follow the evil one and torment men so they will die like men on Gods judgment day! 1.mighty- possessing great and impressive power or strength, especially on account of size. synonyms: fearsome, ferocious More
the lord wants his people to remeber him as the almighty god.some of us are lost in way that we forget to praised him,and to good things like helping those who need our help mostly protecting those who attacked by wickedness.AMEN.
It means that we are all creators made in the likeness of God. So when we believe with all our intention, we manifest into our physical reality, that which we believe to be already part of our present reality .
It warns us not to remain in darkness but to open our eyes to what our new purpose is and that as Christians we should be world changers by the love and power of our Most High Father and God.
