Psalm 85 gives general promises after some sort of diaspora as to bringing back people from captivity (verse 1); forgiving iniquity (verse 2); and anger (verse 3).
Interestingly after these things are stated matter of factly; it seems there is a petition made for the very same thing (i.e. removal of God's anger) in verses 4 and 5. Verse 6 also seems to be asking for a return from captivity after it already is suggested in verse 1 to have occured.
Verses 7 through 9 show how God grants salvation (v. 7); and the fear of God brings glory to the land (verse 9). Verse 8 warns not to return to "folly" which shows the repeated patterns of rebellion that tend to occur after temporary and short lived repentance in Bible history.
Righteousness and truth mentioned in verse 10 are explained in verse 11 as existing in earth and heaven; without both of these things we cannot have mercy and peace. Verse 12 shows the crops and earth being fruitful; to be especially true in the Millennial Kingdom.
The final verse reminds us of Psalm 119:105 as to God being a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path. The Lord must illuminate our hearts or else all is in vain in our human understanding (see Proverbs 3:5).
Eunice think you for the words of encouragement. It is a good reminder to only delight yourself in the Lord and his works to be proud of him and just who he is to Elohims glory
In accordance to the 85psalms.!!!! When you are sold out for Christ as an empty vessel. Invite Him to come into your heart !!!! You are now Christ Anointed not even the world of people willnever. Figure out until they try to walk in your shoes.God will not walk with the proud nor the scornful.
He means whoever trust God with their life will not be lost. And whoever choose to seek revenge and walk according to doing worldly things once u know better will lose. U will mot obtain all God has for u but His grace is sufficient.
Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever ever shall seek to save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. Luke 17:32-33. What it means?.
I woke up this morning to read Jer 29:11, which talk about God's thought of Peace. Only for me to get to work this morning and Ps 85:8 dropped in my heart. I had to connect this to his promise of peace, which is with a condition that we should listen to him, seek him, not to return to folly and above all live righteously. God help me to daily love, cherish and obey you.
This Psalm Of David’s is not only a blessing in personal application as many have stated. It is a word of Prophecy given through The Spirit of God to David as the King of Israel and the forefather of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It tells of the Return of Israel to God and some of the events that will accompany that which Our Unchanging God will do as He remembers with great Mercy His child Israel.
I think this Psalm is awesome, just what i needed to read today. Not only for me and my loved ones but also for a friend of my daughter who has been going through for a very long time. I am glad i was obedient and did as the Holy Spirit led me to do by reading this this morning. "God bless you for making it available for me on here.
To !myself once I be trusted in him being drawn by his spirit mercy and truth opens a doorway for jesus to come in to my heart whereby Jesus the righteousness can come in with his peace to out pour his miracles or how ever he sees fit to meet our needs' or comfort.
Jesus' crucifiction enabled all these, it enabled his blood to be shed on calvary as the final sacrifice for our sins. His blood touching the mercy seat of the covenant fulfilled what was said in this verse. He truly is our saviour and redeemer,Thank you Jesus, come quickly so that we can live forever in your kingdom.
Thank you Lord for giving Jesus to us so that we have life in abundance. Thru Jesus blood and his words we found the truth. Jesus always comforted us with the truth and it passes all understanding peace and mercy are given to us because if God's love to us. Thank you Jesus and i will worship you and praise you always for you alone are worthy. Help us Lord to be Born again every moment in our life
Jesus Christ is full of Mercy and Truth : He is our righteousness and because of doing righteousness we have peace of God that passes all understanding. Mercy and Truth have met together through Jesus and through Jesus, Righteousness and Peace have kissed each other. Oh !! The Bliss of the word being brought alive right before our eyes through Jesus !!! And now through us !!! .
This psalm has given me conformation in my life that finally the things I thought I could not let go are already gone. For me mercy and truth have met in my life. I no longer have to hid other people's sickness. And it's wonderful. I have allowed Gods righteousness and peace to kiss me and I will forever embrace him.

Father you are God of all creation and the ruler of our hearts. Of sinful ways Father forgive us and draw us to you. May our one desire be to stay in your presence free from sin as we call on your name. For God you are worthy of our devotion. In Jesus name we pray Amen.

Our nation has not had a Holy Ghost revival in many decades. Furthermore our churches are the greatest failure in this matter. There is no revivalist in our time, men of the Charles Finney caliber. Thus I employ this poignant passage for our perusal.
I think these scriptures emphasis the birthing of the Sons of God Paul says now earth is in agony to bring forth the revelation of the Sons of God Righteousness and peace kissed something occyred both in the spirit and in the earth earth conceived the seed of the spirit therefore truth spring forth out of earth whilst righteousness the Christ look down from heaven to see that the Sons of God s footsteps are ordered by the Lord in working the harvest so that the land will yield its increase Then the sons will go before the Christ and prepare the way for His Second Coming to level mountains make cruciut ways straight make plain rough paths and showcasing the glory of God to all humanity and the entire earth
