God never lies he cannot lie unlike us humans he is forever perfect.

So here I am reading Psalms 91 holding onto verse 1 because i know my God is so so so real I know where and what he brought me our of. I'm so grateful I could never deny his love and mercy because greater love than his no man has. I pray all would speak to him because he longs for a personal relationship with us as his children.

To dwell in the secret place of the most high is a choice. Such person must belief and have faith in the Lord that He is fortress, his refuge .He has to trust God Almighty living a holy life.

Andrew, Are you suggesting Jesus lied about the condition of the rich man and Lazarus, a non fictional account of persons departed this world, as family members are still on Earth? And, neither of the two had been resurrected yet.

I feel your need for companionship, but, my sister my encouragement to you is to, Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart, wait I say on the lord.

While wait, my sister, delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Seek his face, ask him to direct you in your choosing

When you study the word soul, Hebrew (Nephesh) and Greek (psuch). Nephesh in Genesis 2:7 is used as a living being (Adam). This gives us the meaning of a soul. Now the word Nephesh (Soul) is also any part of the whole being. Such as the breath, the thoughts, the desire, feelings, etc. Like David in Psalms 42 uses soul many times to express longing and desire.

In " 1 Thessalonians 5:23, "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." Paul is expanding on this idea that our whole being in all aspects is right before God. In fact the first part of the verse he explains this by saying "sanctify you wholly". So in a long way yes Paul understood the nature of man as a collective being with separate attributes, living, thinking, and doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:23, "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." I wonder whether Paul saw a distinction & a collective accountability of the whole person?
  • Andrew - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
    Mild Bill.

The resurrection spoken of in the Bible is physical not spiritual. As Christ had a physical resurrection Luke 24:39 so will we be resurrected physically with a new body as stated in 1 John 3:2. The soul as I previously stated is the whole person body and breath ( Genesis 2:7) that will be raised to eternal life, Or raised to eternal destruction.

The doctrine of an immortal soul states that our spirit lives on immediately after death and either acsends to heaven or descend to hell. This is all spiritualistic and not Bible based as I previously stated.

I'm sorry to read of the loss of your dear husband & you have held the pain of his Home-going as well as the loneliness for these past five years. I'm sure you would have committed each day to the Lord, both in managing your daily affairs & the sense of emptiness in your life. The Lord sees & understands & I'm sure He has been very close & precious to you during these past years. Whether we're young or old, all our desires, hopes & the paths we plan to take have to be committed to Him & we need to be prepared to be directed by Him.

The Lord could just drop the right man before your eyes, or more likely draw you to one as you continue to wait on Him & meet with other believers. Do you attend a Church fellowship? Do they have special get-togethers for older folk, whether around the Word or going on outings? This would be the best way to meet & know those in the group & they too would get to know you & your situation. They may even know of a good Christian man also in such a situation that you could be introduced to. Or, the Pastor may be made aware of your need so that he too can keep this a matter before the eldership & diaconate for prayer & watchfulness.

Otherwise, there maybe special times for older folk run by aged homes, welfare organizations, etc. where folk can meet up & share in wholesome activities together, even if they are not necessarily 'Christian'. Any of these aren't wrong to join, but in everything we must submit to the Lord's leading & providing & not go ahead of Him. In any situation we find ourselves in, it is always, "My Grace is sufficient for thee". Walk closely with your Lord & He will satisfy you with His goodness & love.

Andrew, "The idea of an eternal soul is not Biblical. "- Not so. "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28&29 Every soul has an eternal destination.

"But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: and have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust."Acts24:14&15 Paul has an expectation/hope, as he understood the law and prophets, to teach also. An eternal state for all souls IS biblical.
  • Andrew - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
The first question one needs to ask is what is a Soul. The common belief is that a soul is the spiritual part of us, is eternal, and in passing our soul either ascend to heaven or descends to hell. Although in Genesis 2:7 we read that a Soul is the whole person (body and breath). The early Reformers taught and believed this.

Now what about death. The Bible talks about death as sleep. Psalm 13:3 "Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death". Jesus said in Luke 11:11 "--Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep."

The idea of an eternal soul is not Biblical. If we have within us an eternal soul that lives on after death then what need is there of a resurrection or the second coming of Christ. Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 15:12-58.

Alex, Are some human souls lost for eternity?
  • Alex - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Comments about who God will not save Bill, its only our old adamic nature that is in rank with Satan, Mans carnal mind is in rank with satan that y he called peter Satan, as Jesus said out of the hearts of man proceeds all manner of evil. But God is no respector of Persons .The only reason he loved Jacob but hated Esau was b/c Jacob was symbolic of the 2 nd man Christ but Esau was symbolic of the 1st man Adam a corruptible being but the 2 nd man is an incorruptible being Christ Jesus and thats y we must be bornagain of his incorruptible seed which is the seed of Christ. that living word OF God. In Adam we all died but in Christ that 2 nd Adam we wil all be made alive. By the disobedience of 1 man Adam sin came into the world but by the obedience of 1 man Christ Jesus sin will be done away with . When i see the blood i will pass over you. Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world. Bill i hope ya understand that its everybody that needs the blood of the LAMB. Without it we wd all be lost. But behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the whole world. ok lemme go
  • Alex - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Bill in the O.T. it was circumcision ( the flesh ) that had to be cast into the fire but now our circumcision is of the heart ( our old carnal mind ) As Paul said mans carnal mind is the very enemy of God, its not subject to the laws of God and neither indeed can be, thus we need the mind of Christ which is the H.G. let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus .Behold i make ALL things new , if any man be in Christ Jesus HE IS A new creature Bill That new man is Christ in you the old man is he ( our carnal minds that is destroyed at the harvest, the tares at the last day ) That baptism of fire and the H.G. THE NEW BIRTH . Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil CHILD ETC THAT REAL NEW BIRTH , The manchild is the Child of PROMISE , THE kINGDOM OF GOD . Its gona happen to everybody ,as Jesus said every sinner will have their part in the lake of fire, our old man is gona be destroyed, remember if thy right had offend thee cut it off. Saul had to be destroyed so that PAUL cd be born a new creature which was the H.G. Christ in Paul. The Red Heifer answers to humanity that is gonna be burnt to ashes at the door of the tabernacle the door of our hearts. Without judgement there is no new creature meaning a new innerman which is Christ in us. The mystery of the Kingdom of God is Christ in us but our old adamic nature has to be destroyed with that baptism of fire and the H.G as our God is a consuming fire thank you Jesus i hope for your consuming fire. Thats y Jesus said i come to bring fire on the earth thats what we need . Remember Bill the potter saw that the vessel was so marred he had to make a new vessel, thats us we need a new innerman a new heart and a new spirit . which is Christ in us sinners. Bill in Jeremiah 51 Jeremiah saw everything not of faith being destroyed at that last day and that battle ax is the manchild which answers to the H.G. that is gona destroy everything not of God in that last day David saw ALL the world at rest and full of his GLORY
  • Mild Bill - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Well then Alex, I can see that even you understand that there are "exceptions" to whom God will save. Again I ask, "to whom will Jesus say,I never knew you?" Never equals forever.

Men do not simply lose their carnal mind, as you suggest, but their souls as well, and for eternity.

You fit the description given in 2Peter 2, false teacher, which description God has given his people, for a time such as this.
  • Alex on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Alex Comments about the Rich man in hell , he is in rank with satan ,Ya gotta realize it was satan that told Jesus all the things and kingdoms of this world are delivered unto me and i give to whosoever will worship me, Hell is for the devil and his angels and mankinds carnal mind ,when God said her seed ( Christ) wd crush satans head thats our old adamic nature. Mans carnal mind is Satans head . Thats y Jesus rebuked peter it was his old carnal mind that was telling jesus he did not need to go to jerusalem to die ,far be it from thee. But that was satan talking, Peter had not been converted just yet Thats y our lord tells us that every sinner will have their part in the lake of fire ,Its simply his baptism of fire. ,HIS JUDGEMENT THAT WE ALL NEED ,Baptism of the H.G. IS THAT FIRE AS OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE that we ALL need . Ya gotta realize that his judgement is his love ,Whom the lord loveth he chasens ( his baptism of fire and the H.G. ) No baptism of fire no Kingdom as Malachi said so well. Who shall abide the day of his coming, who shall stand when our lord appears for he shall be as a REFINERS FIRE AND FULLERS SOAP in that day that he makes us clean that last day the 2 nd advent 2 nd coming . WILD BILL it wd make God a hypocrite if he didnt apply the blood of Christ to everyman as he applied the curse of Adam to everyman no exceptions.Thats y they call Jesus the 2 nd adam what he did at calvary is gona stain ever mans raiments ,NO EXCEPTIONS . If i be lifted up i will DRAW ALL MEN UNTO ME .AS GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON, Go ye into ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE NO EXCEPTIONS even the isles of the seas ARE gonna be converted unto me. When Jesus fed the multitudes he fed everybody no exceptions , He maketh his rain to fall on everybody and his sun to shine on everybody no exceptions . His love is beyond our comprehension . How many times must i forgive my brethren in 1 day Jesus replied 7 times 70 OH HIS LOVE.

First, remember God wiped everyone out in the flood except for 8 people.

    Hello, there's 2 common theories I've heard:

    1. Noah had 7 others with him. Some believe people from the races came from these 8 people. But this theory doesn't leave much information about culture or how they found wives within the same race.

    2. Tower of Babel. (after the flood). Genesis 11:1-9. It says 2 things: (1) languages were created, and (2) people were scattered across the earth. It's likely Chinese when to China, Africans went to Africa, Europeans went to Europe, Indians to India, etc. And with the languages were cultures. And even though the Bible doesn't specifically say it, races could have been created at this time. I believe this is the most likely answer, because I don't think all races came from 8 people who were already included family. And race, culture, language, and location are all unique and interconnected.

    God bless...

Some times God allows us to be alone, so we grow closer to Him. I have been where you are, and discovered that the more time I spent praying and building my faith, the more I realized some of the people in my life were not really good for me. Perhaps God is trying to show you that He has wonderful plans for your life, and change is not such a bad thing. one goo friend is worth more than a thousand who cause grief. Prayers and hugs. Stay close to God, and pray for wisdom to know God's will for your life. You are loved! Peace

  • Receiving Favor Giving Favor - In Reply on Psalms 91 - 4 years ago
The favor of God can be described as "tangible evidence that a person has the approval of the Lord." When we favor someone, we want to be with him or her. We delight in him/her. We connect with him/her in a way we don't connect with everyone else. We usually favor people who also favor us. IN THE SAME WAY, God shows favor to the ones who delight in, connect with, and give honor to Him. Isaiah 66:2 says, "These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word." 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him." To be "perfect" toward Him means we seek His favor more than we seek the favor of anyone else, even ourselves.
  • Praying for Revival - In Reply on Psalms 91 - 4 years ago
Nothing is hopeless. Ezekiel 37, ONE Prophet of God, listened to God; believed Him; did what God said to do.

Even now, one person can stand up to Dead Apathy; and prophesy in the Name and The Power of the Blood of Jesus____to the dead bones in Sweden.

Your FAITH in God starts the shaking. The Holy Spirit makes the Bones stand up.

If revival is in your heart, it's there for a reason. God is looking for one person to take His WORD seriously. Don't let the nay-sayers grouch that it's "Old Testament".

Ezekial 37: It's written down for us to see it. Habakkuk 2:1-4, "that he may run that reads it"...

If the Lord places revival in your heart, that is your work. It's lonely but if that fire burns hot within your heart, run with it. You speak to the dry dead bones of revival.

Jesus sits at the right hand of God, right now, interceding for ALL SAINTS.

Write the vision down...in the Bible. The Bible is alive, written on the flesh of our hearts. If others with the same burden want to join you to pray for revival, let it be.

Commit your works to the Lord.

    Psalm 69:9, 69:13

You're the 1st person I've heard say they want to see a revival in their nation. May the Lord bless you. I agree with you for revival in Sweden.

  • Prayer For Deliverance and Healing - In Reply on Psalms 91 - 4 years ago
Speak faith when doubt raises its head.

Pray: " Come Holy Spirit. Help Me."

I pray against sickness in my coming and going. I pray against any form of sickness coming near me, my family, or near my vicinity. I claim my healing against: (speak your disease out now) in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I declare by the power and authority of the Holy Ghost, that no illness, spirit of infirmity or sickness attack from the enemy shall prevail against me in Jesus's mighty name. I am covered by the Blood of Jesus.

I confess Jesus Christ as my infinite Healer, and by His holy stripes and mighty authority, I declare that I am totally healed from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I render every satanic attack against me bound up and cast out by the Name of Jesus! every spiritual foundation of sickness, and I command every infirmities spirit to bow down right now to the authority that is in the name of Jesus Christ. Go into outer darkness. Do not return in Jesus of Nazareth name!

I pray against sickness in any form or shape. I say with confidence that I am the healed of the LORD Jesus Christ. I cover myself and family with Christ's precious holy blood of Jesus and I declare by His holy might and righteousness, dominion and authority that it shall continue to be well with me and my family in all dominion, and dimensional realms.

I forbid by the authority of the Holy Ghost any reoccurrence of sickness in my life. I claim immunity for me and for my family against every form of sicknesses with the atonement blood of Jesus Christ. I declare that we carry the mark of Christ Jesus; therefore, let no infirmities spirits ever trouble us!

In Jesus of Nazareth holy name and by His righteous authority I have decreed and declared! I stand in faith. Amen.

Copy this down and use it till your Faith stands up like King David did, to Goliath.

    Mishael
