    Amen Adam.

It's such a sad movement, and I agree a bad motive.
  • Adam - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
Jesus was a middle eastern Jew who walked a lot outside in the sun. Some groups WANT Jesus to be a different skin color though and work very hard to find verses that support their desired skin tone. I don't believe the motivations behind this are sound and I think if Jesus was here in front of us He would condemn that and question their motives. It's as if people are fighting over this trying to score points for their own 'team'. That's opposite of what Jesus taught. Galatians 3:28 God bless...

    Fili Chu Ling,

We don't know what those seven things were because John did not write them down.

It says, And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write it down: That is, write down what they were saying.

And I (John) heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

So John wasn't allowed to write down what the seven thunders said.

This also tells us ways in which God works with us. He doesn't tell us everything because we're not ready for everything.

Jesus told the disciples that there are many things I have to say to you, but you don't understand them now.

God chooses not to reveal things to us at times because we're just not ready for it. And here's God telling John to seal up that which you heard.

could anyone explain the seven things uttered in v4 please

Brother Judge, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Revelation 22:10 And he saith unto me, SEAL NOT the prophecy of this BOOK: for the TIME IS AT HAND.

These words were written 2000 years and THE ANGEL said; the time is at hand, to me that means NOW, not 2000 or more years down the road. Otherwise; the book would have been seal to a latter date as in Daniel's time.

The BOOK is the REVELATION OF JESUS; everything that happened to him and all that was accomplished by HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION.

HIS WORKS that has set us FREE by becoming one with him.

    Earl,

We are never going to see eye to eye if we both use the same scriptures to interpret different meaning.

The 5-6-7 trumpet scriptures I use are in conjunction with prophetic end-time events, not the idle past. You are reaching too far back for the scriptures to be helpfully relevant to our time. Saying the OT saints were raised up to fill the shoes of the sealed tribes defies logic. How can the one hundred forty four thousand possibly be OT saints when the firstfruits resurrection isn't for another 42 months, when antichrist is defeated at the seventh trumpet? If this were the case, the OT saints would have to die twice, and be resurrected twice.

The one hundred forty four thousand are extraordinary people that live amongst us.
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
Brother Judge, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

    Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had open the SIXTH SEAL, and , lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon turned to blood;

This was fulfilled at CHRIST death and resurrection. This prophecy is in:

Joel 2:3 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the great and terrible DAY OF THE LORD COME.

The one hundred forty four thousand in Revelation 7 are the Old Testament saints that were raised with Christ at his resurrection.

Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints WHICH SLEPT AROSE,

Matthew 27:53 And came out of the graves after HIS RESURRECTION, and went into the HOLY CITY (New Jerusalem) and appeared to many.

These Old Testament saints all died in FAITH; but, was never able to receive the promise of eternal life until Christ resurrection. This is shown in:

Hebrews 11:39 And all these, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise (eternal life).

Hebrews 11:40 God having provided some BETTER THING FOR US (eternal life), that THEY without US should not BE MADE PERFECT (accomplished by the death and resurrection of Christ).

YES, thy along with John and all other saints now IN CHRIST are MINISTERING SPIRITS; to us, HERE and NOW.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, SENT FORTH to minister FOR THEM WHO SHALL BE HEIRS OF SALVATION.

This is the role of ALL IN CHRIST at the time they are GLORIFIED.
  • Judge Martin - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
    Brent,

The two witnesses are the one hundred forty four thousand sealed from BOTH houses of Israel. They are briefly mentioned, clocked, hidden, and allegorized throughout the Bible, and showcased in Revelation:

    Revelation 5

    Revelation 7

    Revelation 11

    Revelation 12

    Revelation 14

The two witnesses (one hundred forty four thousand) are the only representatives of God who are sealed for 42 months. They are the woman of Revelation 12, etc. Now that you know, double check it for reproof.
  • Judge Martin - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
    Earl,

John has no need to prophesy after leaving his body of flesh, which occurs at the seventh trumpet for the elect, when God's mystery is over. It is the resurrected one hundred forty thousand standing on Mount Zion with Jesus Messiah ( Revelation 14:1).

It is the one hundred forty four thousand who are tasked in prophesying between the sixth and seventh trumpets. Jesus Christ received a 42 month ministry, and so do the elect ( Revelation 7).
  • Brent - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
Are we brethren, sir? If so, can you tell me the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost? Unto what were you baptized? Have you received the Holy Ghost?
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
Brother Brent, may CHRIST IN US grace us with His wisdom and His understanding

From Genesis to Malachi we see all the prophecies of the coming CHRIST; the law and prophets are the two witnesses to this event. Daniel 12:11-12 foretell of the forty two month ministry of Christ; forty five days latter Pentecost.

Revelation 10 is telling John that when he leaves his body of flesh and is become the LIKENESS OF CHRIST he will again prophecy to the nation having BECOME a Priest to HIS GOD.
  • Brent on Revelation 10:11 - 3 years ago
Amen. John is one of the two witnesses.
  • Simon on Revelation 10 - 3 years ago
( Revelation 10:11) And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

This is a reference to the testimony of the one hundred forty four thousand sealed Israelites during the great tribulation; the book eaten in vs 10 is the Bible. This must occur, their daily prophesy against anti-christ, at the sixth trumpet, till before the seventh trumpet: vs 7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel (trumpet), when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

The two witnesses, the unsung hero's, will be getting the attention of media and kings for 42 months.
  • Simon on Revelation 10 - 3 years ago
The seven thunders & the seventh angel:

( Revelation 10:4:7)And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not....vs 7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

God knows the people of earth won't listen.

Ephesians 5:25-27, "as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

What the Apostle Paul was speaking of in this passage has a dual application. He speaks about Jesus loving His Bride (the Church) by giving Himself for her. So we have not only had our hearts cleansed by His death & being forgiven by the Father, but He has sanctified us (i.e. set us apart as a Holy people) & cleansed us by washing us by the Word. Just as water baptism (a once only act) gives the believer a visible, practical testimony to himself & others of God's Work in Him, so to, the washing by the Word of God continues to be applied to that new regenerated heart, continually washing away the dross from one's life (the doubts, fears, sins, lies from the Devil, etc.). For those who seldom attend to God's Word, are usually those who seldom find full victory over these things in their lives. All this did Christ do for us & continues to do so by His Spirit, to the end that He might present us to the Father, a holy, glorious Church.

I know of this teaching: that water baptism is no longer valid. It is an old teaching that assumes that both water baptism & the Lord's Supper were instituted for the sake of & the establishing of the Church (& if taken further, that all spiritual gifts have also ceased). Once the Church formed, established & strengthened by the apostles, the 2nd Century Church onwards, then moved forward in faith alone, attending only to the study of the Word, prayer, fellowship, & sharing the Gospel. I can understand that point of view, but don't find any authority from the Bible to do so, as both water baptism & breaking of bread are very special events in the life of a believer, if observed properly & done sincerely.
  • Maria on Revelation 10:7 - 3 years ago
Are we to be washed in the word (new testament) since Jesus died for our sins and we are saved by our faith and Gods' works, not by the works of water baptism? I have been told we no longer need to be water baptized, only faith and doing ministry.

Further to Jesse's comment: we don't have specifics on Apostle John's further ministry (v11). We understand from tradition (& not confirmed), that after he was sentenced to the mines on the Isle of Patmos, at which time he received these prophecies described in the Book of Revelation, he was then freed & left there to serve as Bishop of Edessa, in what is today Turkey. He then died an old man - the only apostle to die peacefully. So we don't have details of his ministry, post Patmos, though according to the angel's directive, John's ministry must have been extensive as he may have built upon Apostle Paul's earlier ministry there.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 4 years ago
Rev. 10:8-11 is where John was given instruction concerning this little book. We see this same book in Ezekiel Chapters 2 and 3. This book is the title deed to the earth. But it is also the word of God. He's told to take it and eat it. The word of God is sweet to the taste. But the judgments are hard on the heart, and bitter to the belly.

It was always God's intention that God's people eat His word, that the word of God becomes our spiritual food, and that the word of God becomes part of us, and that we speak not just from out of the book, but out of our heart.

We're told to devour it first, not just memorize it or learn it with our mind, but to receive it spiritually, and devour it as the word of God. That's always the way it was intended to be.

So he said prophesy again, and he said you will do so in front of many people. To prophesy means to speak forth the written word of God that He has given to us, nothing added, nothing taken away. In other words, no new prophecy!

How can John prophesy in this verse if he is in prison? Why not. He can still prophesy while in prison.
  • T'Ann - In Reply on Revelation 10 - 5 years ago
I agree with your thought, as it was too placed upon my heart in understanding and was shown also to look at the last chapter of the book of John who is the same person. Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless you.
  • Richard on Revelation 10 - 5 years ago
well it would appear we have an answer as to who one of the two witnesses will be, John must prophesy again before many!
