The Word of God is God ( John 1:1) and is not of any private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20).

The word 'Repent' in different forms (repent, repentance, repented, repentest, repenteth, repenting, repentings) is mentioned 110 times in the KJV, and means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. The word 'repent' used in the New Testament was translateed from the Greek word "metanoeo", and means to change, transform, to think differently or reconsider.

It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It actually means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' of what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom mankind has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9) and what people must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive ( Matthew 7:7; John 14:17).

You need not that any man teach you ( Isaiah 54:13; 6:45; 1 John 2:27), as mankind follows after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Rev. 12:9).

It is only by revelation of God that people will come to know the true Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1), and only then will you be able to overcome the spirit of this world ( 1 John 5:4; Rev. 3:21) and learn what 'True Repentance' means, and how this whole world has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9). It should also be remembered that it is a narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life', and few there be that find it ( Matthew 7:14).

LUKE 15:10. LIKEWISE, I SAY UNTO YOU, THERE IS JOY IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ANGELS OF GOD OVER ONE SINNER THAT REPENTETH

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

Pray this prayer with sincerity of heart

"Dear God, I believe in you and that your Son, Jesus Christ, is Lord. I believe in His sacrifice for my sins and His resurrection from the dead. I repent and ask forgiveness for my sins and I'm deciding now to follow you. Please, come into my life through the gift of your Holy Spirit. It is in the Lord Jesus' name that I ask and receive, Amen."

The Bible says doing these things with sincerity means you are a Christian (Christ follower) and will have eternal life in heaven.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13

(Use caution in trusting your feelings, as feelings change. Stand on God's promises- they never change.)

The other thief on the cross wanted Jesus to save them both by the means of this world.

    He was rejected.

    Remember Lot's Wife.

    By love.

I don't want to go back and forth Chris. I'm sorry. I'm just trying to understand and make it make sense. If they break down your door and say they are taking you and family because you guys refused to take the "vaccine" chip and then they take you to a fema camp then kill you and your family then what? When you possibly could've avoided it by fighting back?..... its crazy I know but I need most is God and to protect my babies.!
  • Olivia - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
Hey Chris. Yes that helped to a point but if you wanted to protect yourself and they bust in in the middle of the night, you can't use a gun or something to protect yourself and your children? no matter if your going to win or not? That makes no sense.
  • Olivia - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
No i haven't. But what does that have to do with the question I asked?

  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
Olivia, I believe you're referring to a comment initiated by Maryann a couple of months ago. If that is the case, I was addressing the matter of non-violence & non-retaliation, as prescribed in God's Word. Take time to read the following Scriptures: Matthew 5:38-44; Luke 6:27-38; and Romans 12:14-21.

So, these portions of Scripture tell us how Christians are to behave or respond when trouble comes our way. However, we should do all in our power to protect ourselves, our children & our property from wicked perpetrators. But what the Bible teaches is that we must not go on the attack, or repay evil with evil, or in any way do what Christ would not do. The only ones empowered by God to pronounce judgement & give out a penalty is the government. Often even they don't administer it correctly, but that is another matter.

Maybe your question is: "then how can we protect ourselves?" Are we talking about the authorities under instruction from an anti-Christian govt. coming to take you & your children because of your faith? Then I doubt neither you nor I could do much at all given their position & strength. We need to submit & trust God for the outcome. Or else, what would be your plans to oppose them? Using a gun? How far would that get you against the police or army?

But if you're thinking of a criminal breaking into your house or accosting you on the street, then you are authorized by law to protect yourself, but restricted by the amount of force used. Then again, how does one know what crime is intended to be committed? Does any of this help you, or have I missed your point?
  • Olivia on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
Chris, so your saying to not retaliate when they take us and our children out of our homes? Just let them take us?

Mark: it means return to your first love when you First met Jesus. The scripture is in Revelation.

Just compare your life today to those first days when you asked Jesus to come in your heart. You read your Bible. You asked the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you have read. He's your Teacher, and the Spirit of Jesus; your Comforter; your Convictor when you make mistakes, your Helper. He's here for you.

Just pray this prayer to return to your first Love:

Lord, after what I've read today, I don't want to allow any spirit of compromise in my life! I now understand that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans is compromise with the world. Lord, I don't want to live with one foot in the church and another foot in the world. I want to break free completely from the world and its influence so I can give myself completely to Your cause! I want to be holy, to live in a way that pleases You, and to experience Your power in my life. Today I am renewing my commitment to You all over again! I turn from the world, and I am running to You!

I pray this in Jesus' name!

  • Joshua - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
Amen brother, well said! I believe it's the same as it always has been for believers/saints - Jesus gives us the ability to suffer for his name. We cannot do it without his strength and grace. But with Christ we can do and endure all the things that were impossible for us before. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." - Philippians 4:12
  • Curtis - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
I believe the way that we behave depends on whether or not we are of this world.
  • Maryann - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago

  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 4 years ago
Maryann, the Scripture you quote has to do with the Revelation given to John for the Church in Smyrna. Even though Smyrna was a real Church, the messages to all the seven Churches are for us today. Church at Ephesus left their first love; etc, etc.( Rev 2 & 3). I'm unsure of the time of their suffering, but through the ages, believers have suffered for their faith at the hands of wicked men. There is a time coming called the Great Tribulation, wherein the Anti-Christ will reign in Jerusalem as God, & all manner of evil will come from him & to those opposing him. From Scripture, we believe that Christians will be removed from the Earth before that time (the Rapture) & will not go through the Tribulation (which is a time of God's Wrath), yet this event doesn't preclude anti-Christian sentiment & actions by the world now. How should we behave? Just as Christ did: show love & forgiveness to all, not retaliate, pray for them & for each other; bear our cross gladly as He bore it for us.

I have a question in these end time's how are we to fight back is it only spiritually or physically .. when martial law comes to take us out our homes are we to fight back ? And are we to forgive them as they hurt us like Jesus did on the cross? things are happening so fast and i feel it's to late for me to learn ? how are we to handle or except it when your being taking away for them to kill God's children? certain things i'm not understanding can be frustrating .. are we to forgive those that are hurting us or wanting to kill us ..
  • Fred scanlan on Revelation 2 - 4 years ago
Lucifer ,the angel of light. He makes himself an angel of light. Remembering what the word says about forsaking the assembling of one another. This he is depending on ,not allowing the spirit to have free course . The war is that God is judging the the world and the prince who is in it. Satan will do everything he can to deceive even the elect of God. Your faith will determine his outcome! His time here on earth is numbered, He has no power than what is given from above. Anytime you have opportunity, speak the name of Jesus through your breathing mask! Satan does not know the heart of a believer! We are saints in a very big war! We are members of his army and have all we need in Christ. The angel who is dressed in white shall not prevail. We are all the same in Christ , Jews and gentiles. Overcome evil with good.

Lesley, EVERYTHING in the first 11 chapters is addressed to you on an individual level in the present tense or present perfect tense. In this case Rev. 2:26-28 John the Revelator is talking to YOU Lesley and your own personal "one like unto the Son of Man" who when you overcome will rule your temple - the nations or your body - so that like the yogis had perfect control over their bodies. That is the promise. Sadly since it takes a lot of effort hardly any modern westerner will take the time. This is not for everyone. It is only for a select few who will make the effort.

    Good luck Lesley.

therefore - conjunction with verse 4 so this is the answer

Remember...fallen - figurative so not Garden of Eden. This First Love hasn't been done for millennia.

repent - not of sins - START doing this First Love by teaching yourself...

first works - chapters 1-11 of Rev. have the instructions to begin doing first works.

remove candlestick - at the gym you exercise voluntary muscles. John is asking you Christians to exercise the seven spiritual centers in the temple of God - see Rev. 11:1. Once you get good at being "in the spirit" as John was it will be your First Love. The one thing Jesus could not do without as He proved on the cross was not being in communication with the Father. It was His First Love!!

    Everyone, good luck.
  • Wolfen244 - In Reply on Revelation 2 - 4 years ago
You desperately need to follow the evidence not guess and by golly. John's "first love" and even Jesus' "first love" was NOT not loving Jesus. Here is a major clue. What was the one thing that Jesus valued more than anything that he actually lost for a few moments while saving us on the cross? That was his first love, John's first love and yours - if you are willing to follow the evidence laid out in the next verse. Good luck.
