Is a warning to all. No excuse.

I love the World English Bible version because it mention "the ***ually immoral" in the verse because I believe it is unholy. It's a wonderful and effective verse identifying unholy things/elements.
  • T.G. on Revelation 22:18 - 11 years ago

  • Opiyo on Revelation 22 - 11 years ago
This is my understanding on whether we shall be in heaven or earth.

There will be two types of resurrection.
The dead in Christ shall resurect first and go with christ to heaven..."in my fathers house are many houses... I go and prepare a place for you..." in his second comind God's people will be in heaven and the wicked dead so satan will be "locked" in bottomless pit.

The second resurrection will come after a thousand years in heaven( Rev 20:5) They shall descend in the holy city...the new Jerusalem.

Revelation 22 I like the best
  • Isaac on Revelation 22:19 - 11 years ago
Charles, The verse does NOT say "those who change the bible..." it says, "those who TAKE AWAY from the words of this book of prophecy..."

The different translations are for those who are not as educated in reading the English language. It allows for them to understand the bible and comprehend what God wants them to know. The different translations are broken down by readying level. If you think about it the only difference in King James and New King James is the "thee, thou, thus, etc." There is really nothing changed in the bible, and yet it says the same thing. The same message that Christ came and saved us all from our sins is still written in there. Now when you take that part our you have "Taken Away" not changed.

I don't think God intended for us to quarl over the different translations, but yet gave the writes/printers the ability to reach a new generation with their understanding of the Word of God.

We as Christians should not be here complaining about the differences in the translations, but doing as the Bible says in Matthew 27: 19-20 "The Great Commission.

Thanks for listening and God bless!

Revelation 22 is Awesome on the divine truth! The crystal clear water flowing down from the throne of glory and the tree of life with leaves for healing for all nations(all people)! You have to believe Jesus and ask for all kinds of healing and it will happen in your life (verse 1-2).
In verse 8-9, talks of to worship nothing else: money or wealth, people or persons, but the LORD your God (Holy Trinity:God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). He is worthy of our praises and worship. An angel could be one of us (fellowservant or brethern in the church) sent to teach the gospel. The Lord, Jesus Christ is the Bright and Morning Star. To God be the glory, for great things He has done!
  • Richard on Revelation 22 - 11 years ago
I still have not heard anyone say anything about us staying on the earth with Jesus not going to heaven to live
  • Richard on Revelation 22 - 11 years ago
Why are the churches not teaching that we will be on the earth with Christ at his coming to help him correct the wrongs on the earth. And to rule with him. The nations will not know it is him when he comes.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Revelation 22 - 11 years ago
Dear Jim, read Ezekiel 28:13,14 and that will give you the light on this subject matter. Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star. We must be careful not to add or subtract from the Word of God. Accept it by faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. ( Romans 10:17)
May the Lord bless you richly.
  • Jim wan on Revelation 22:16 - 11 years ago
which interpretation is correct for Jesus identity - '..the bright morning star' OR '...the bright AND morning star'
Lucier is also called the '...morning star'.

The water of life means a guaranteed income, because the wage system is slavery, a temporary income, & usually too small to live on.
  • TINA on Revelation 22:19 - 11 years ago
I’m very grateful to have such references on how to love God with all my heart, better myself in God’s eyes, and serve him alone. With regard to Revelation 22:19, I give glory to God hence he gave great warnings as for anyone who wishes to recite or teach any preaching or any other lecture not to twist, tangle, misconstrue, alter etc.., the words of ‘the prophecies of the bible’: that may cause the Lord’s true followers to be confused with misunderstandings of the true word of God! Most important since this command is located near end of Bible, it’s one that sticks to you to obey; it gives off a very important spiritual closing!!!
  • Chris on Revelation 22 - 11 years ago
This chapter is the summary and conclusion to Lord's love letter to all Mankind. As through all the bible, Jesus is drawing men to himself in love and admonition. Verse 19 refers to the Book of Life, this is the book of the redeemed, the lists of the saved, salvation is life, eternal. Just like in our courts we are asked to swear to speak "the whole truth, and nothing but the truth", God commands us to do the same with his word. Too many churches teach partial truth to stay popular, what you save with, you save unto. This is a warning to preachers, teachers, parents, believers, anyone sharing the Holy Word. God will not let His Word be cut short or have things left out. Salvation of souls depends on this. "The righteousness He requires is the righteousness; His righteousness requires Him to require".
  • Becky on Revelation 22:18 - 11 years ago
I hope my church did not remove this information, and I will be asking. And I hope to get to read it. Thank you for the knowledge, and the wonderful site I have never seen a site so easy to use. Thank you. Becky.
  • Mas on Revelation 22 - 11 years ago
    @Yolanda,
God will take away his part out of the book of life simply means “God will cancel all the rewards that were prepared for that one”. This means if somebody takes from the word of God, or adds to the word of God, that one will be losing (forfeiting) his/her rewards that God has prepared for him/her in the book fo life.
  • Brian Parnell on Revelation 22:18 - 11 years ago
While it can be regarded as an admonition against altering the words of this prophecy, it is far too often taken as a warning against altering the Bible in total, or at all. If that were true it would explain a lot of the woes befalling the Catholic Church after their removal of the Apocrypha. But obviously the writer was referring to his own writings, NOT the Holy Bible...which did not exist for another 1600 years.

It is clear now how Many Can misinterpret the lessons of the bible when its messages are clouded by metaphoric simulations.
  • Luke on Revelation 22 - 12 years ago
It sure seems at times that we walk through the dry land. I'm currently reading a book called; when God Writes Your Love Story; It’s been a real encouragement. Just to think that it is all worth the fight, and the wait. Knowing that God is in control and that's all that matters.
  • Joani on Revelation 22 - 12 years ago
I have been TRYING my best to walk this walk for years now. I do struggle at times when I read. Now I am not illiterate but sometimes my comprehension well, let’s say, is a bit rough. Anyway this morning I was prompted to go to Revelation 22 and when I started to read verse 5, it blessed my heart. I am one who always says I would live in a home of glass if I could just to get all the light I could. I love daylight hours and every part of the day. But when I read that there is no need for light, candle or sun it excited me...... Just to know that the Lord whom I try to serve is really ALL WE NEED, and he will ultimately give all I desire. Well it just blessed me today. I know that sounds simple but that’s ok with me. I have need of things here like anyone else. But to know that we have God and he is supplying for all my needs, well what more do we need than him. Thank you! Have a blessed day.
  • Toa on Revelation 22:13 - 12 years ago
Wesley's notes for Revelation 22:13. God did not say "I am THE Alpha and Omega" He is Alpha and Omega. When you use "the" you refer to something apart from Him (God). Alpha and Omega is not some sort of coat God puts on to be Alpha and Omega... HE IS ALPHA AND OMEGA! Amen!
  • Newell Rathbone on Revelation 22 - 12 years ago
The river of life- water is something every human has to have to survive. This is a symbol for us to know that our spiritual life flows from the throne of God forever. Now, we can eat of the tree of life because it allows the soul to live forever. In the garden of Eden, it wasn't time for man to live forever, so Adam and Eve were forever expelled from the garden for disobeying God's order to not eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
  • Ekow Abraham on Revelation 22 - 12 years ago
Revelation scriptures humble me. And I thank the Almighty God for it.
  • David on Revelation 22:15 - 12 years ago
I think that it may be related to the Garden of Eden, when God made man in His image, Genesis 2:8, 3:23. Genesis 4:16 tells of Cain going to the land of Nod and starting a family, whom God had marked for other men not to slay him. Maybe that Revelation 22:15 could be talking about that. Outside the Garden. Thank you and please write back to tell me what you think. Hope I expressed myself right. JESUS IS MY LORD! David.
  • Michael Marlin on Revelation 22 - 12 years ago
Read the whole Bible, don't listen to anyone\'s opinion. Read & follow all of God\'s laws, commandments & statutes and you will enter into rest with HIM in Zion. Don\'t follow God\'s laws, commandments & statutes and you will be tossed in the lake of fire it\'s as simple as that.....
  • Matthew on Revelation 22 - 12 years ago
I don't know if this applies to anyone but after I read this last section, I almost felt light-hearted and kind of warm. I'd never felt that way in my whole life and it feels like I'm being held. This is the greatest feeling I've ever felt.
  • GERSHION WETLE on Revelation 22:2 - 12 years ago
The idea of always being prepared makes me think of the man who lived next door to us when I was growing up. When Mr. Nienhuis came home, he never failed to back his car into the garage. That seemed unusual to me until my mother explained that Nels was a volunteer fireman. If he got a call, he had to be ready to race to the fire station. He backed in so he could leave quickly when he had to report for duty.

To be well prepared is important in so much of life. “If I had 8 hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend 6 sharpening my axe,” said Abraham Lincoln. We prepare for a career by studying. We buy insurance in case of a car accident or a house fire. We even prepare for the end of life by making a will to provide for loved ones.

The Bible tells us we must prepare ourselves spiritually as well. We do that by putting on spiritual armor to protect ourselves from spiritual attack ( Eph. 6:10-20); by preparing our minds for holy living ( 1 Peter 1:13); by making sure we’re always prepared to answer questions about the reason for the hope we possess (3:15); and by ensuring that we are ready for the promised return of Jesus ( Matt. 24:44).

How well prepared are you for what lies ahead? Unsure? Ask the Lord for His help and guidance.
When I awake at early mornTo meet the coming day,I want to be prepared to takeWhatever comes my way. GERSHION D WETLE.
