The conqueror in this case, is the one who makes himself mighty, in order to subdue men unto himself, AWAY FROM GOD AND FAITH IN HIS ANOINTED THE SAVIOUR. Read Isaiah 14 (for example) and compare with not only Nimrod (who started it all after the flood) but with all the sons of the devil who have likewise brought murder and catastrophe while seeking to themselves be gods. This is the first rider!

Al; The Spirit's inspiring of the holy writers of the Scriptures is not a mystical code which may be unlocked by methodologies of human thinking. If you listen to anything that the Lord taught, and try to dissect and analyse the words instead of hearing the moral and spiritual points instead of in a good and honest heart take the message as it was delivered in its simplicity; what shall it profit?

Al; I am not answering you incoherently nor unrelated to the things that the vision speaks to; but it may be your preconceived notions are blocking you from understanding? These aren't things I just made up; but they agree with the real history as recorded in the Scriptures; and what many Nations have also kept from ancient times; although embellished and twisted to suit their idolatrous customs.

Disciple, Thanks again for your response. It is difficult to communicate with you in that your comments are not interrelated, nor coherent from my perspective. I simply wanted to focus on the First two verses of REV. 6 We are in a SPIRITUAL BATTLE to win over Sin and death. My understanding is to DEFINE each phrase or term. For example, Conquering is related to the church conquering SIN

Al; The image of a beasts arising from out of the earth or the sea [of peoples]; describes the several kingdoms of the Gentiles ruling over the world since Israel was carried to Babylon, and ultimately concludes in a universal dominion of such corruption and violent cruelty as has never up to then been allowed by God to come; although it was in their imagination to do from the beginning.
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 6 years ago
Al; there are many ways which the LORD has used to teach us about these things, and with diverse descriptions and symbols representing spirits and spiritual things.; not so many (e.g.) beasts, but so many ways of describing what kind it is, and the things that are, and those that must come to pass before the end. As far as answering your request; what did I miss? I think I was understanding you(?)
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 6 years ago
Hi Al; I want to say some more about why I don't like views of the Commentary. Jesus came as a Lamb, not as a warrior or conqueror. He came to announce His kingdom, giving light and grace for faith. "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight that I should not be delivered to the Jews." He already has a Name above EVERY name, and ALL AUTHORITY!

Ps. 37:14 "The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation." Isa. 14:24-25 "...Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them,.."

Cont. Going back still further; the whole intention of the Lord in His messages to the Churches, has to do with being fit for His Presence by a clean and pious life first most importantly having Jesus as our unmovable first love; in order to bear up during the catastrophic completion of the age; and by all means OVERCOME the beast and its image, even unto death. So we are shown what all this is!
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 6 years ago
Al; Let's go back a chapter or two, and see what is the matter here. We are brought into the Throne Room in heaven, and Him that sits on the throne has a little scroll in His hand; a "small matter" but one that only the Son of God is worthy to take and look upon its contents. This little scroll in the right hand of God contains the conclusion of the matter of the Satanic condition of the world.
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 6 years ago
ALZEPP; I started reading the commentary as you suggested; and found it quite empty. There's nothing in the Scriptures, or in ancient history to support this person's fanciful ideas. But there was one both in Scripture, and ancient writings, who fits perfectly this description of a conqueror and an archer and one whose appearance and exploits have covered the earth and remain a fundamental belief.

Hello to Obie and Disciple....Revelation chapter 6. The First and Second Seal openings. Have you read the COMMENTATORS understanding of the White and Red Horse, their riders, the bow,the Crown and their going forth to conquer and conquering...... The first 13 lines of the COMMENTATOR are outstanding.

All; Consider how the Lord Jesus prepared the disciples for what their lives would from then on be like in the world as the same purpose for John to write to the Churches warning and instructing to readiness, with a view toward our bearing up with grace and virtue and much patience through all that was spoken by God as necessary to bring about the completion of the age; to keep faith and overcome.

"And when he had opened the fifth seal I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:" From the first seal is revealed the Antichrist. Under each following seal is both the underlying evil and the results of that evil. The Cains of the earth murdering their brothers, the Abels, is what's at the root of all evil done in the world.

"..How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" We may die or be killed for our faith in Jesus, without having yet received the promise of vengeance and righteousness upon those who inhabit the earth, who are guilty of our blood; But God waits for the whole number of us to be complete before He makes an end of the wicked.

Rev: 6:12-17 ... as a whole, the 'Whole-World' is blind to the 'Signs Of The Time' told to us by Jesus Christ; but the 6-seal will rock the 'Whole-World' and 'Heaven' thereby get everybody attention. The ... and ... nor ... will not be able to help me nor protect me. Nothing but the Blood Of Jesus will matttttter. Our Heavenly Father has provide Jesus /The Shelter In Time Of Storm! WOW, WOW, WOW.

Satan comes as antichrist which is to say instead of Christ meaning Satan claim he is God returned and it's going to be a love feast and Satan will take on the role of Christ to deceive the whole world. If you join Satans one world system and your faked out then you haven't been keeping track of the trumps. No rapture will occur and the first Christ is a fake. Wait for hail and fire THEN 7th Trump

Well said Ginger! We should understand that the whole of Jesus' teaching, both during His ministry, and especially so in the last days before He suffered; was to prepare us for what we are to expect to encounter here until He comes again BECAUSE He has called us from out of the world to be His embassy of the Glad Tidings to the world! The Book of Revelation is for us to know all we must overcome!
  • Ginger on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Pre-Tribulation is a lie that the new world order started. Compare to Rev 6:12 to Matt.24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. It matches with Sun/Moon. We will go thru Great Trib then raptured then the WRATH IS POURED ON MAN 3.5yr

Gerald; "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." 1 Cor. 15:51-52 We must put on immortality; for flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
  • Gerald on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Steve read carefully 1Corinthians15:50-58. Says only the dead will be changed at the last trumpet,in Revelation 11. 1 thess 4:14-18 says the same thing. Says we who are ALIVE AND REMAIN UNTILL THE COMING OF YHE LORD WILL BY NO MEANS PRECEDE THOSE WHO ARE ASLEEP. Revel.chapter11:17,18 says talks about the One who is and was and IS TO COME. This the last trump and he is judging and rewarding saved

Steve (cont.) as to the part in 2nd Thessalonians about "..until he be taken out of the way;" does not mean the Rapture of the Church, but the Holy Spirit giving them up and taking away all restraint. This also is the Archaic meaning in the number six hundred sixty six; overflowing all bounds and restraints by a multiplicative; as it is written in the 2nd Psalm "Let us break their bands asunder.."
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Steve; the words in the Original Received Text; which were translated into English "what things shall be hereafter.." is more accurately "..with these things;" as adding to what is already being said in the messages to the Churches. The idea that John being translated into the Spirit in ch. 4 is supposed to signify the rapture of the Church is misled, and contradicts the entire intent of the Book.
  • Steve on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Disciple...I certainly respect your belief and opinion concerning the rapture of the church...but I do differ. Revelation 4-22.5 tells us of the things that shall be hereafter...after what? After the saints are caught up as stated in 1 thes.4:14-17. 2 thes 2:7 tells us the church will continue to hinder lawlessness until the rapture, and then antichrist will be revealed. I find comfort in pretrib

Steve; Thank you for your kind words. I like what you write as well! I do see it differently however about the Catching Away of the Saints, as I read about it in Scripture. The times of the heathen have been officially ruling over the world since the carrying away of Judah and Jerusalem by Babylon; by Israel's forfeiture of the kingdom through the house of David till Christ returns.
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Steve; two or three things suggest that we must be here up to the end. Jesus said, "When you shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet.." and the souls under the Altar were told that the Day of Vengeance would not come UNTIL ALL their brothers and sister who should likewise suffer is fulfilled; and the catching away is at the LAST TRUMPET at the coming of the LORD.
  • Steve on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Disciple...I respect all your comments, and they are all right on. I think Revelation 1-4 concern the church age in which we are blessed to live in. All the judgments are after the arrival of the antichrist. It's true the. world is experiencing many antichrists today, but not the beast of satan. This monster may well be alive today, but not in the temple in Jerusalem yet. When this is we are gone.
  • Obbie Beal on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
This chapter is WOW!.. because the current events of all the nations of the world (social, political, economical, etc.,) proves when we added-up the current events of the nations of the world the total is seal # 6 can open before we take our next breath. WOW !
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 7 years ago
Under the fifth seal, and under all that which up to now is opened to our view; it is the persecution of Cain against Abel, and Nimrod against the happy and virtuous new world after the cataclysm; the furious rage of the heathen, and the vain imagination of the people against the LORD, and against His Anointed. And so the sixth seal is the Day of the LORD; and the seventh seal silence in heaven.
