    Hello Rrscaccia. I think you have misread this portion. If I might write it as I understand this passage ( Romans 1:1-3):

    "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he (i.e. God) had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) concerning his (i.e. God;s) Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh..."

    So Paul is stating that even as he Paul was called by the Lord to be Jesus' apostle, the Gospel which Paul had to preach was of Jesus Christ, God's Son Whom God had "promised afore by His prophets..."). So where are these promises? You can look at Deuteronomy 18:18; Isaiah 9:6,7; Isaiah 53:1-12; Isaiah 61:1-3; Jeremiah 23:5 (yet a future fulfillment): these prophets all spoke of Jesus (though they didn't know Him by that Name but that One would be sent from God), Who would come from Heaven through the Davidic line, being called the Son of God by His Divine Birth.

    The author mentions that Paul was part of prophecy in the old testament. Does anyone know which prophet and where in the Scriptures?

    We live in a time when our silence empowers the sinful living their lives in error. Sure we are all sinners but Romans 1 if nothing else was the voice crying in the wilderness.

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

    There are people twisting the truth about God's will and how he perceives us as all sinners. We are actually afraid to speak our minds, run our businesses, be able to shun them for their lusts, refuse to allow them to be a part of us for fear of man's law, to be in the spot light of their judgement. Verse 24 explains how God gave them up and how He felt about their lifestyle.

    26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

    27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;.

    The final verse should resonate with all of us because I'm having difficulty seeing how allowing it to surround me in public, with use of the the rainbow (which is suppose to be a symbol of God's promise), in our schools with God's children, and in the title of holy matrimony that somehow I am forced to accept it or have any pleasure in that acceptance. Does it not imply in verse 32 all that take any pleasure in them that commit such things are worthy of death?

    32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

    That is refreshing in a way. There are obvious guidelines; such as the book of James elaborates on (not praying to gratify the flesh and not being double minded). A large part of communication with the Holy Spirit involves us trusting God for all things whatever the apparent outcome; which in the short term frequently is not seen clearly. We also heed to the scripture in Hebrews about Christ being the High Priest ever interceding for us. In other words; He perfects the communication so that it is a clear presentation to God; which of course would involve His understanding of the perfect will for those good works prepared for us from before the foundation of the world. Normally; I would share the scriptures themselves but I am afraid with all the tabs on my computer I'll wipe out this page should I look them up now.....

    As important as it is to be God honoring; as well as us meditating on the scriptures day and night so that we can formulate thoughts and learn to know the ways of God so we are mindful of His will for our lives; it isn't good to be too restrained either; as to content or time frames for organized corporate prayer. A good principle is to look to the needs of others before ourselves; and that is largely through discernment and not being overly obsessed with our own family; friends and lives. It also involves finding those who are walking Godly lives as resources and AVOIDING those who are tampering with false doctrines or have a lifestyle of sin in terms of the same. We don't want someone invoking an evil spirit to our favor.

    It is good to be ready in season and out for not only evangelism but being available for prayer. People have different giftings; and it shouldn't be a pride thing; but sadly most have no idea when they are endowed with say; and unusual unction of faith.

    And sometimes prayers are answered either right away; or much later suddenly this occurs. We need to ever heed the Spirit in all we say and do.

    This verse applies to everyone who has not accepted Christ.

    Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

    AND SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

    No one will make it to heaven off their own righteousness.

    It is the righteousness of Christ imputed unto us is what declares us spotless.

    Yes we minister to everyone.

    People accused Jesus of going to eat dinner at the house of a "tax collector." Luke 19:1-10. Jesus spent time with an "adulteress" John 4. He spent much of His ministry around "sinners." We're all sinners.

    But yes, there are verses supporting avoiding people and avoiding trouble. Jesus fled to avoid being arrested/beaten, before it was His time. He left people to be alone to pray. He said He wasn't respected in His own town with His own family. It says this about not being welcomed: Luke 9:5. It says avoid foolish arguments Titus 3:9-11 and avoid divisive people or heretics. It says this specifically about Christians ( Matthew 18:16-17) when confronting about an issue like sin. So it seems the answer is it depends.

    Are we not to have anything to do with those people or share the gospel because they receive the wrath of God and if you communicate with them does it mean you approve of who they are.

    Many times I have read and reread these words of Paul. A man who would have rather killed you as to look at you. A man who had every intention to succeed in the realm of the synaguage, the priesthood, excelling in all those things concerning wisdom and knowledge .

    There are those today, like Saul, think they do Gods service in the things of this world, who like Saul , are even so in the church today!

    Approving those things that would damn the soul into eternal death, even killing you ,while they think they do Gods service!

    Men, who have changed the truth of God into a lie! Who, through the wisdom and knowledge of their own desires have made themselves like unto Gods.

    Paul understands these things better than anyone! He knows why God has chosen Him in the things of God,while condeming yet revealing the truth, to those who would listen!

    Do we need not change His words, so we might have a better understanding?

    These words are as real as they have ever been, the mirror that continues to reveal the truth of man in His natural state of sin!

    How appropiate God has done these things to save man from sin! Hopefully, He will listen?

    Melchizedek was a mysterious person described in Genesis 14. His ancestory/genealogy or any other detail about him is not given in the Bible, thats why it is written that he is "Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually."

    He is written that he was king of Salem, salem meaning peace, probably Jerusalem. He was a priest. But he was not a Hebrew, he didn't belong to the tribe of Levi who had the priesthood according to Mose's Law. Anyway he lived before Moses. The Hebrew priests were in charge in the temple for a year, then another priest would be in charge. They were changed continually. But Melhizedek was priest for all his life, he wasn't substituted by somebody else. So Paul says in his epistle to Hebrews that Christ was a priest like Melchizedek, that is that He will not hand His priesthood to somebody else, for as long He lives, that is for ever He keeps priesthood forever. (This is a good point to those Christians that have priests in their churches. Were did they get the priesthood from since Jesus doesn't hand it to somebody else?)

    In a few words Pauls tells to Jews that the Old Law that involved priests and animal sacrificies has been substituted by the sacrifice of the Lamb/Christ who remains our Priest for ever.

    Would you want to fallow a GOD that made you do whatever HE wanted you to do?. Walk around like a bunch of robots saying "I love you GOD" or would you want to fallow a GOD that gave you the choice? GOD created us for HIS pleasure and if we don't please HIM, we will be done away with once and for all after White Throne judgement. There are a remnant and a few elect that are predestined meaning GOD will push them in the direction HE needs them to go. Paul's freewill was to destroy the church but CHRIST had other plans for him. My free will is to fallow GOD with all my heart, soul and mind for I know how great the reward for doing right and how great the judgement for doing wrong. What kind of life would it be if we had a GOD that made us do right? GOD created every single individual, unique and for HIS pleasure. The 1st earth age all HIS creation lived in love, peace and harmony where even Lucifer sang with CHRIST both called morning stars for their brilliance. Millions if not billions of years in harmony until Satan wanted it all and the downfall where he drew a 1/3 of Gods children with him. They had free will.

    a reprobate mind; v.28 = The term "mind", as a noun, refers to one's human knowledge and intelligence stored within the brain, and the faculty of mentally processing that knowledge and intelligence motivated by emotion, intent, purpose, and the desired result.

    The mind's mental processes provide the ability to make decisions based on comprehension and differentiation. The mind formulates one's discernment, opinions, viewpoints, morals, convictions, and beliefs. (cp. Eph. 2:3).

    Contextually, depravity and rejection of all things Holy and GODly motivates this mind into the state of "reprobation" leaving GOD to "give them over" to their own sinful will to multiply sin upon sin. Sexual sins are commonly the lowest type of sins of which the sinner sinks into a state of "reprobate".

    The adjective "reprobate" means they fail GOD's spiritual test thoroughly in every point and in every way. Thus, GOD rejects them as unfit, spurious, and unusable and "gives them up" ( Rom. 1:24, 26, & 28) to their own carnal devices which they often blend into their religious beliefs and practices (cp. Tit. 1:16). Such become a "castaway", a word which translates from the same Greek adjective, and a condition of which Paul greatly feared ( 1Cor. 9:27).

    Sadly, these reprobates do not lightly come to this condition, for many put great efforts into achieving this reprobation as Paul declared in Romans Chapter One.

    Of note, the same Greek adjective root translated here into "reprobate" and into "castaway" ( 1Cor. 9:27) also translates into "rejected" in Hebrews 6:8.

    The Apostle Paul ( Romans 1:1), who was originally named Saul ( Acts 7:58) of Tarsus ( Acts 22:3), but eventually became known as Paul ( Acts 13:9), dictated the letter to Tertius ( Romans 16:22). The account of most of what is known about his life story was written about by Luke in the Book of Acts. Acts 7:58-60, Acts 8:1-4, Acts 9:1-31, Acts 11:25-30, Acts 12:24-25, Acts 13 to Acts 28.

    The Apostle Paul is recognized as the author of most of the Epistles (Apostolic letters) in the New Testament, which include Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians. Ephesians. Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon. Some also consider him the author of Hebrews, but the authorship of that book is not known for sure.

    Peter also speaks about Paul in 2 Peter 3:15-16.
