Indeed, Faith is Confidence. Confidence that the Promises of God are true. Progression through life is peppered with many instances where we can place our confidence in ourselves, or confidence that God will fulfill His promises...exhibiting our Faith in God by recognizing He fulfills His promises through our Righteousness.

    Lambert
Recompence in 1:27 means that they received the right reward for their personal error. It has a negative sense here. Hope that helps. God bless.
  • A disciple on Romans 1 - 7 years ago
Lambert; "recompense" means to repay or requite, as a reward or for an injury or loss; something given or done in return for something else; repayment, remuneration, requital, or reward; something given or done to make up for a loss, injury, etc.; compensation:(Collins Dictionary). Luke 14:14 the meaning is to repay. Joel 3:4 in the sense of toil and burden-bearing to repay with a similar action.

The Natural affection in 1:31 means LOVE. So without natural affection means hatred. It can also mean that, scientifically, naturally positive attracts negative. Unlike poles should repel but that is not the case today. Men are attracted to men and likewise the woman. Verse 32 says, not only those who do or engage themselves in such things are worthy of death but also those who approve of it.

    I LOVE ROMANS 1:12!!

Verse 4 of this chapter is the key to understanding that the book of Romans compares and contrasts the sinful Adamic nature of mankind to the Holy nature of Jesus, God's Son. His Holiness is the basis for His resurrection, mankind's salvation, and our daily walk with Him.

Hey there Austin! Yep, I hear what you're saying. It's funny, because the god they worship doesn't mind their godlessness. And they think they are moral. Verse 28 sure fits. Don't know your email.

In Romans Chapter 1: 20-25 refers to people depicting God as something he's not. Like in verse 23 it says "they changed the glory of an uncorruptible God into an image made like corruptible to man ..." what that is saying along with the other verses you asked about, is that (man) meaning people of the world took god and made him something he is not. I can explain better if you contact me via email

Randy; 20-25 tells how God is the Lord and Master over ALL the world. He creates and makes it after His own counsel and will, and judges men by it. Do you remember what Nebuchadnezzar said about God after he was converted? that He rules over the kingdoms of men, and sets up over them the basest of men? Men think that they make the world and their own destiny; but we can do NOTHING without Him!

Dear Geraldine; Jesus said that He came NOT to abolish the Law, but to completely make it full! Up to as far as if the heavens and the earth should pass away, NOT ONE Yode or one Tittle shall pass away from the Law till ALL be fulfilled. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus; so that our life should establish the Law, to teach and convict others by the Spirit and Light of His Nature in us!
  • Geraldine cole on Romans 1 - 7 years ago
Praise Jesus we are no longer under the old law we are now under Grace we no long live like the people did when Jesus walk the Earth thousand of years ago when Jesus die on the cross he freeed us from the law.the whole bible is true but we don"t live by the old testament that was before Jesus came to die for us on the cross.

Verse 25: People can get so wrapped up in trying to learn something or solve a problem that they can forget about the Creator.

Romans 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh Jesus had sinful flesh like we do. But Jesus never sinned. Jesus had his Father's in Heaven blood. Jesus was ready to become the Savior for our sins. Thank you Jesus.

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" We hear and read that God made the world, and that He rules in the kingdoms of men. This part in Romans 1 describes very specifically that every man's life is made by God, according to what kind of man.

In verses 14 through 16 Paul referred to himself as a debtor. We owe everyone an opportunity to hear the good news.

Doctrine is something that is taught.Principle knowledge. The Gospel of Christ is doctrine. Ephesians 4:14"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness where by they lie in wait to deceive." Romans 16:17,6:7, 1Cor.14:6,26, Isaiah 28"9.In the context of these verse, doctrine is the counsel of God
  • A disciple on Romans 1 - 7 years ago
Insight777; Jesus NEVER denied being of the seed of David according to the flesh, and He did not come to abolish the Law, but to completely fulfill it. Read Isaiah 8:20.

Greek - diatheke, dee-ath-ay-kay'; a disposition (i.e.; by assignment, compact, appointment, etc.); a contract (esp. a devisory will); - covenant, testament. Origin: Middle English: from Latin testamentum ‘a will’ (from testari ‘testify’), in Christian Latin also translating Greek diathēkē ‘covenant’. Whereas "doctrine" means Teaching; two completely different things.
  • Insight777 on Romans 1 - 7 years ago
Jesus denied being the seed of the flesh of David. Jesus is the Son of God. According to Leviticus David, is doomed and cut off from his people.," Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbor's wife, to defile thyself with her." David, a man not acceptable to his Lord, his soul is cut off. Paul is a Benjaminite(wolf) and a Pharisee clinging to the old testament that Jesus came to dispel.
  • Joe on Romans 1 - 7 years ago
Having been a vile sinner saved by grace it breaks my heart to see people reprobate in their behavior and yet "christian" people reveling in those that are practicing disobedience to God's laws and statues its not funny to me.
