King David was called a man after GOD's heart, GOD loved & honored King David even after his adultery & muderous cover-up, attempt. 2Samuel 11, 1Kings 11:4, Acts 13:22,

Psalms 38, Psalms 40, Psalms 51, David sought after GOD

However, David didn't get away with anything, without consequences: 2Samuel 12, because of the severity of his sin as stated by Nathan in 2Samuel 12, the "sword did not depart" from his house._._

The punishment for adultery Old Testament was death 2Samuel 12:13, but GOD spared David's life

GOD doesn't take delight in death but that everyone should turn from unrighteousness! Ezekiel 33:11, Ezekiel 18:32, 1John 1:9,

    Malachi 2:13-16, Proverbs 5,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Repentance is the way to start for God has said. in proverbs 28:13

13Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,

but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

You also need to take up the whole armor of God. for this way by his word, you will be able to with stand when your being tempted.

Remember his words is a light to our path and God has said if you obey and incline to his word. the word will keep you from stumbling.

This is done by praying without ceasing by reading his word and by fasting humbling yourself through fasting.

    Ephesians 6:13-24

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Lastly God is merciful, and he cares for you. Remember Jesus took your place at the cross so that you might receive his righteousness.

    2 Corinthians 5:21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So don't give up but kneel down and call to HIM and repent your sins for He who began a good work in you will see it to completion.

Sin has no dominion over you. amen

You must admit your sin . You didn't 'fall' into adultery , you commited it . I'm assuming it's you yourself , so have you confessed to your wife ? Are you genuinely sorry that you deliberately and knowingly sinned against God ? If the answer is 'yes' , then you may be forgiven , all things are possible with God so you must always have hope and talk to Him about it . Remember , He knows your heart .

What should a believer who has fallen into adultery do to be saved again. Will the LORD show mercy and forgives his sins?

    Thank you.

    Adam Young,

Romans 12:20 comes from Proverbs 25:21-22. Romans 12:9-21 should be taken together and this section has to do with participation in our interaction with others. It gives us 13 precepts of love. The principle is given to us in Romans 12:9 which says, let love be without dissimulation. What in the world is that?

First of all, notice that the word "Let" is in italics. So we can scratch that. There's no command here. And the word dissimulation is the old English word for hypocrisy. There are only three words here, Love without hypocrisy. That's all it says. It's a statement of fact. Love is without hypocrisy.

And the Greek word for hypocrisy (HUPOCRISIS) is a word for an actor who is speaking according to the script. So, love doesn't have hypocrisy in it at all. There's no acting in love. You're either the real thing or you're not. You either have Christ in you or you don't. Love, (Agape love) is without hypocrisy. There's no acting. It's the real thing!

So when you get down to Romans 12:20, it says, "Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head."

Have you ever had an enemy, someone that just hated you, maybe in school? And every time they needed something, can you imagine what their reaction would be when every time they needed something, you helped them out! They say, "Yeah, but I can't stand you and I treat you terrible every time I see you." But you say, That's okay! Do you need some water?" You can just see the steam from the coals!
  • Adam Young on Romans 12:21 - 2 years ago
    Reference Romans 12: 20b

It seems the "heap coals of fire on his head" means to get someone's attention. In this way, your actions have gotten an enemy's attention with the possibility of a positive and beneficial outcome. Just seems like and old saying or proverb like hope for the best, prepare for the worst or the devil is a squirrel. (German saying about squirrel.)

I believe so, Rodney. If you go to the tab, 'Christian Life' (under the main Tab, Discussion), you will find a recent post from the KJBO Admin of how to access the Strong's Numbers & Concordance search.

Jesus is alive and soon to come again, yet, there is a slight delay: He longs to see more repentance in the lives of His people: II Chron 7:14

    Question:

Does kingjamesbibleonline.org have a prompt that will display a word meaning from the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance?

Giving thanks always to God and the Father through his precious son Jesus Christ!

    Thank you, R

1Sa 31:12 All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Bethshan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there.

It is not sinful to cremate your body and is the cheapest way of burial. Once we are done with these body's we are done never to return to them; so whatever form you wish to discard your fleshy body has no bearing on your heavenly one. Our flesh ages and gets sick but our spiritual last forever and is perfect able to run and leap like a deer and last forever.

2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

I am so sorry. I should have proofread my post more carefully before hitting the submit button. The next part of the verse says "Mind not high things," not "Do not mind not high things" which makes a big difference!
  • Jesse - In Reply on Romans 12 - 2 years ago
    Minor correction:

Instead of "Your attitude and my identification is with those who are lowly, that have nothing," I meant to say our attitude and our identification is with those who are lowly, that have nothing."
  • Jesse - In Reply on Romans 12 - 2 years ago
    Vincent,

Romans 12:16 says, "Be of the same mind." The word used in the Greek text tells us that it is talking about the frame of mind, as in be of the same frame of mind. It does not mean to think the same thoughts. It means to be like-minded, to have the same frame of mind and attitude about life and the scriptures. Paul said that Timothy was like-minded. His approach and attitude to life was the same as Paul.

We are to be of the same frame of mind towards one another. Then it says, "Do not mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate." It literally means join yourself with the humble and the poor, not with the rich and the influential, which is what we have a tendency to do, especially in the church.

So identify yourself with other believers, have the same frame of mind and attitude. Remember what James said in James Chapter 2, "realizing that God has chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith."

So if you want to hang around a rich guy that's poor in faith just because he's rich, he says here that it shouldn't be your frame of mind. Your attitude and my identification is with those who are lowly, that have nothing. Then it says be not wise in your own conceits. And the word wise in the Greek text also has to do with the frame of mind.

    I hope this helps you!

2 Corinthians 2:7, should read 2 Corinthians 5:17. Apologies, don't know what happened there.

Hello Doug. Just to add to brothers Rick & Kent's wise advice, my thoughts first turn to 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. This speaks of not just a disciplined body to run the spiritual race before us, but we must note that the Apostle Paul's first act was to engage his mind in that direction. Without being fully convinced & fully focussed on winning the race, all other exercises to attain our goal will ultimately fail. Every professional athlete knows that it is both mind & body that are exercised & engaged to win the prize. A body that is prepared, but with a mind wandering on the concerns of family & other matters, or with having some doubt of winning, has already set a precedent for failure.

And when Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God", he speaks of changing the focus from off worldly matters & pursuits (though, we must still live in the world). Paul uses the Greek word that we know as 'metamorphosis', or to transform or change into a "new creature" ( 2 Corinthians 2:7) by first causing our minds to be renewed (re-focussed; in a new direction). And this can only happen when we first determine this in our hearts & minds, allowing God's Spirit to take full control, thereby causing us to have power to live for Christ & to live to make Christ known. And indeed, as already been said, our minds need to feed on God's Word that our spirits might be refreshed daily, giving "proof (in our hearts) of that good, acceptable & perfect Will of God" in our lives.

    Hi Doug,

You renew your mind by reading and staying focused on the word of God. It will change your way of thinking to better align it with God's thinking.
  • Rick - In Reply on Romans 12 - 3 years ago
Hi Doug Work the word daily and keep it first in everything you do. In practice work the Church Epistles they are written to us in this the age of grace the body of Christ, also the gospels then old testament. Its all Gods Word giving you my perspective. The church epistles give the doctrine reproof and correction on walking by the spirit in the body of Christ, Romans is the magna carta of Christianity, Ephesians is the spiritual pinnacle and Thessalonians is the gathering together or also whats known as the rapture of the body when Christ returns and we're taken up. God Bless

What's scary is a life outside of Jesus.

Search out other young people who love reading the Bible. And anything to do with Jesus or God.

Don't hear their words cuz if they say they love Jesus or are saved but don't have any good fruit like reading Bible ,praying, worshipping

( which usually includes looking upward and smiling with that sparkling I love you look in the eyes).

And get saved out loud. Yes, in front of the church.

Living life without Jesus is like swimming in a giant pool of other peoples puke mixed with your own! In other words, it's just awful! And it will make you feel that awful too.

Jesus loves you. Take a step of faith. Be bold!
  • Mishael - In Reply on Romans 12 - 3 years ago
Jesus is the one calling you. I felt exactly like you do. Like everyone was staring at me. They aren't. It just feels that way.

Even tho you can't see Him, Jesus is at the front of the church. Walk towards him. Receive His salvation in a prayer. Write the date inside your Bible. Start reading it in the Book of John.

He will never leave you, no matter what happens.

We are here to answer any questions you need answers for.

Micah 6:8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

John 7:17 - If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

As we yield our members, servants to obey, we are led by His life in us.

Walking not according to this world, but weighing everying thing in view of eternity.

Christ in you, the hope of GLORY. Not willing that any should perish, we, by HIS GRACE bring light, transforming light must begin.....

..... that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 5:17 - Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
