How many books are in the bible ?
  • Cyryl krotev - In Reply on Romans 14 - 4 years ago
    Romans 10:9-10 should help.

You are saved by grace through faith in Christ through the gospel and not of your own works, otherwise Christ would be dead in vain. Check out galatians as well.

    Romans 4:4-5 too

Mary, this is an age old question from people who want to prove that either God doesn't exist or that He is not the loving God Whom we say He is. There is no easy, clear answer that can be given which will satisfy those enquirers. We know that God is a God of Love - that is Who He is & the reason why we are here as are all of His creation. We also know that He never wanted anyone to die, but man chose to disobey Him & to be arrogant to Him, so the penalty of our sin is death & eternal separation from Him was the result. Then the questions: if we adults have to die, then why should the innocent children also die? Then if God stopped them from dying now, does that mean that He will let them die later or maybe not die at all? But we all have to die as a result of who we are & sadly, little children are also affected by this. Though Jesus did speak of those who wanted to harm the children as those deserving of death for their wickedness ( Mt 18:6).

These are strange questions I've given but I'm trying to show that unfortunately, both adult & child have to suffer pain, hardship & death, simply because we are a fallen creation (sinners) living in a world once beautiful, but now reeling in the effects of that corruption. And when God looks at us in our troubles, He also sees us through His Son Who came to give His Life for us so that even if we have to die physically, we won't have to die spiritually in Hell. And this is the promise to all people who come to God by faith in Jesus' death at Calvary. And those little ones who die before their innocence is lost, will still go to Heaven as they have not sinned wilfully as a result of their sin nature. These are comforting to us Christians, but the unsaved will only want to see God as a cruel unloving Person. They need to know that we all die because of our sinful nature & disobedience to God - BUT God has given us an opportunity to enjoy eternal life in Heaven if we come back to Him in His way ( Jn 14:6).

Levi, the Book of Romans, was written by Paul to the Christians in Rome & not to the Jews. These matters were raised by the apostle because of how these believers were treating others. So by judging others in what they ate, how they regarded certain days, treatment of slaves, etc. was wrong, said Paul, & so he gave them this warning. So, this chapter isn't about fasting but about judging others in the Church.

"Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way." Rom 14:13.

Chapter 14 start of with, Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. this chapter does not say anything about a Sabbath day, or worship day, because the Sabbath was not in doubt, they was jews. Jews and and gentiles kept the Sabbath. This chapter is talking about fasting.

Christ fulfilled all the old prophecies in the old testament as we have read the Bible from the very beginning. He taught us the way and when his time had come, he gave us the apostles and as we know the only one to die natural was John, they all did suffer greatly through imprisonment martyredism but they were glad to do so, even Paul spoke of this ,they knew the outcome was being with the Lord, it was a pervillage a life worth living and dying in Christ as we all should be , die to self and do as he has shown us, suffering strengthens us all for the peace to come to be in the presents of the greatest love we have ever known, struggles are only for a moment as fleshly life is to

Gentiles are not held to the same festivals , we are taught to set aside a day for the Lord as it is written, a day to reflected on his Glory, and fasting but he was speaking to gentiles of how we have our way of festivals you have passover, we celebrate Easter, God saved his people from bondage in Egypt, Christ fulfilled the bondage of sin on a cross that we in him are one, I thank God for the Jews for we'd all be lost, we wouldn't have had the word who came in the flesh and his spirit poured out on the third day of his conquering death to the apostles to share the good news Amen! Praise the Lord

    and account that the longsuffering of our lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hardto be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction'. paul did not mention that god's sabbath is the day he is talking about.christ, paul never changed the law of god.do not be decieved.read mathew 5:17-19;24:14-15-20; daniel 7:24-25,2 thess 2, rev 12 :17sunday worship is a roman practice not for god's elect;it was instituted in the year 321 a.d

Darren - I respect your belief which is the message of this chapter. The same message is for you to respect my belief which differs from yours. Whatever either of us eats is of little matter compared to our faith and our works which shows our faith.

Interpertation is a lie ...there is only 1 TRUTH this chapter and vs means a Your week in faith cuz u dont believe the herb is all u need to survive ..not living by the word proves your faith and love to Hallel ..defiling your bodies sicking yourselves...but the vs also proves a sick man can ONLY eat HERBS to heal himself ..in GENISIS he gave us herbs bearing seed ordained every animal to eat it

a servant to the Lord is all that matters keep your hearts pure and don't bicker over how anyone who is in Christ serves our Father, understand each other and respect each other, our goal is the same to enter into the gate and Bow before the King
  • Vanessa on Romans 14 - 6 years ago
Paul was speaking of the Jews and the gentiles in their customs of beliefs, we should not condemn how anyones worship to the Lord, keep festivals, or what anyone eats, or drinks, if we keep the sabbath or go and work with our hands, Christ came and fulfilled the old laws, but it is wise not to judge another on how they choose to serve the Lord, we are all servants to the Lord our God Amen God bless

Various personal greetings are extended in conclusion of this writing:

Actually BSP, we are called on to judge. But we must do it correctly, which is to say, not hypocritically.

Verse 8: This is a good reminder that the life we have is a gift from Jehovah God and if we need to live in a way that shows we are appreciative and obedient to God.

Eternal truths- For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Romans 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. God is in control of everything , Satan has to ask permission.

Edna, James 2:21 "Abraham our father justified by works." Galations 3:11 "Not justified by the law." Under the umbrella of Salvation we are justified by works, and justified not by works. I am not disputing against Galations 3:11. I consider the whole counsel of the Lord. Ro.14:22 "Happy is he that condemneth not himself in the things God allows" Allowing men to be justified by works and not.
