Hi Lauren, in 2 Corinthians chapters 10 & 11, the apostle has been forced to vindicate his apostleship - he actually found this difficult to do as he was the type who would put Christ at the forefront rather than himself. This would be a long study to examine both chapters, but if you read them again, bearing in mind that Paul was compelled to prove his apostleship to a Church that was carnal in the greater part & given over to listening to false teachers. The Church was fascinated by these teachers, for their knowledge, oratory skills & smooth words, so much so, that Paul, in their minds, was insignificant in comparison & also not at the same level as the other apostles. Even though he was "rude (poor, not with finesse) in speech", yet he wasn't in knowledge (the Truth): 11:6. Though any boasting does not glorify the Lord (as was seen in the false teachers who delighted to show their oratory prowess & wide knowledge), Paul would oblige them & boast a little to show that his credentials of suffering for Christ (11:23-30) were as good, if not of greater importance, than what the others had to show.
And yes, Paul did drift into sarcasm as he questioned their wisdom in receiving these false teachers ("suffering (allowing) fools"). They were more prepared to be brought into bondage again, being taken advantage of, even being slapped (v 20), rather than give credit to Paul, to his apostleship & his teachings amonst them. The Corinthian Church was easily led astray, not strong on the doctrines & teachings given to them. If a strong popular figure should arise, they would be easily inclined to give them audience. Paul's letters to them reveal much of his heartache for them.
Could anybody help me understand II Cor:11-21? Was Paul being sarcastic here? Or is he saying, "Don't suffer fools gladly, let them smite you, take advantage of you..." Isn't the teaching contradictory, "don't suffer fools gladly" and "turn the other cheek" ? In the past, I have let people walk all over me, fearing to call people out on stuff, as though that were not loving them in Christ. Thank you.
I want to thank God first for giving you this prayer. This is a powerful prayer. Bothers and sisters thank you all for this beautiful prayer and In Jesus Name by His stipes we are healed. One of my favorite verses Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
Beloved Brothers and Sisters blessings to all of you.

5TH CYCLE OF DISCIPLINE by Mishael - In Reply on Romans 3:6 - 4 years ago
The Messianic Jews (dead or alive) that have been born again into Jesus Christ are sealed by the Holy Spirit and ready to go with Jesus as soon as he appears.
Take RELIGION off of the throne of your heart, and you place Jesus on that throne. pray, read the Bible (New Testament) first. Receive the Holy Spirit. Turn off the media so you can talk to the Holy Spirit and He will talk to you. Take your questions straight into the throne room. Leave your requests at the altar. Cast all your cares upon Him, because He cares about you.
The Lord has made every provision for us to be born again. For a season I would go get a copy of the King James Bible and read of what Jesus encountered in Jerusalem.
He was the awaited for Messiah. But the Pharisees and religious leaders rejected Him. They realized their jobs and control over the masses, was threatened.
Years ago the Holy Spirit showed me that over 500 prophesies were fulfilled by Jesus the Messiah. Over 100 on the day of his crucifixion alone. The odds of that happening is in the Trillions!
This is something the Gentiles need to consider. After the Caught Up in the Clouds (Rapture) 1 Thess.4:16-17. THE ELECTION passes back over TO THE JEWS of Israel. Not only that: the Restrainer will diminish in His presence on earth. The Antichrists identity will be revealed. He will attempt a fake peace on the earth. He will have power to fake miracles on the internet. Get some Arthur E Bloomfield prophesy books. Try AbeBooks to get some. Prophesies easily understood.

I do not believe anyone is saved based on their tribe or people group. Jews were God's chosen people, but that doesn't mean they have a free pass to heaven. They need to believe and follow Jesus just like anyone else. Even in the Bible, Judas, a Jew who followed Jesus betrayed Him and then had a horrible death and I think likely will end up in hell.
Comments by Alex on who are Gods Elect , His Chosen , Thats Christ that is his Chosen his Elect Not any man ,outta of the hearts of man proceeds all manner of evil Jesus says. None righteous no NOT ONE simply b/c every man carried that spot and stain of Adam, Everyman needed to be bornagain, the law was screaming mankind needs to be bornagain. This demonic nature infected every person ever born NO EXCEPTIONS PERIOD . Even DAVID a man after Gods own heart says in sin did my mother conceive me . But the scripture says behold my servant, mine elect,my chosen whom my soul is well pleased i will put my spirit on him and he shall show Judgement to the Gentiles the nations this is HIS SON CHRIST JESUS NOT ANY MAN. not any human. Thats y Romans 3 is saying there were none righteous no not one, in essence saying they still carried that stain and spot of adam, All their good works were filthy rags simply b/c of their Adamic nature . The law was screaming mankind needs to be bornagain of an incorruptible seed which is the new covenant ,Thus the lamb of God that wd initiate that new covenant ,IN His blood etc .Mankind needs another ADAM THAT WD STAIN THE WORLD WITH HIS BLOOD, He will stain all his raiment ( with his blood etc ) the prophet said. Thats y they call him the 2 nd Adam what he did at Calvary is gonna stain all the world with his blood no exceptions. All our good works are like putting lipstick on a pig . Simply b/c of our old adamic nature. we need to be bornagain I.E. we need to birth a new heart and a new spirit which is Christ being bornain US the SON OF MAN. There were no exceptions to the curse of Adam it was automatically applied to every person ever born. In Adam we ALL died but in Christ we will all live, NO EXCEPTIONS Jesus said if i belifted up i will DRAW ALL men unto me no exceptions. Its only our old adamic nature that is in rank with satan that is gonna be destoyed by that lake of fire which is God as our God is a consuming FIRE thats what we need .GB

Hindering Influences and the Great Falling Away - In Reply on Romans 3 - 4 years ago
When in doubt read the Commentary:
Wesley's Notes for 2 Thessalonians 2:2
2:2 Be not shaken in mind - In judgment. Or terrified - As those easily are who are immoderately fond of knowing future things. Neither by any pretended revelation from the Spirit, nor by pretence of any word spoken by me. (Paul the Apostle)
People's Bible Notes for 2 Thessalonians 2:2
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled. Be not agitated, or in distress. Neither by spirit. By some one who says he has a revelation of the Spirit. Nor by word, nor by letter AS FROM US. Nor by one who claims to quote a word or letter FROM US. It is thought that a FORGED letter had been circulated to which Paul alludes. In the close of this Epistle he shows how his letters may be known to be genuine. Some suppose, however, that by "letter" he refers to an incorrect interpretation which was placed on his first letter.
I notice that verse 3 seems to bear up, what Paul said in verse 2. We need to remember that Paul was probably incarcerated at this time.
The Falling Away of the Church is going on right now in the world. Lots of things happening to distract us and keep us preoccupied with a world going mad.
Verse 7: The Holy Spirit is restraining the Reveal of Antichrist, until God the Father takes Him out of the way.
This is not a good time to be backsliding or having one last fling.
We were told to have our lamps full of the Oil of the Holy Spirit and to be listening and looking for the Bridegroom.
If you have any unsaved loved ones; now is the time to urge them to come to Jesus now, and not Harden their hearts. Make your peace, forgive Everyone and say goodbye. We're that close.
The KJV differs from NASB, NIV and others in the wording of 2Thes 2:1,2,3. Especially in regards to
verse 2 where KJV says the day of Christ is at hand, where the others say the day of the Lord has come. We have been told that the NASB comes from older (therefore more trusted) manuscripts by a pastor friend. This guy is, by the way, an expert in Greek and Hebrew and has both masters and
doctorate degrees. Nonetheless, we prefer the KJV for, perhaps not very good reasons. It seems to us that both KJV and NASB are consistent within themselves but differ greatly, one from the other. Have you any words of wisdom in support of the KJV? Thanking you in advance I am yours in Jesus.
The text mentioned here Ro.3:10 is misquoting the Hebrew scriptures. In fact paul is removing words from the Hebrew scriptures and adding his own words.
Ro. 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
Psa 14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
there is no mention of a "righteous" person in the first 3 verses of Psa. 14. IF you were to read this in its CONTEXT you will see that this chapter is talking about "FOOLISH PEOPLE". Its NOT stating that there are no righteous people on earth, for I can give you close to 100 passages that show there are, but that there is no good in the FOOL that has said in his heart, "There is no GOD".
read it like this,
Psa 14:1 "The fool" hath said in his heart, There is no God. They "The fool" are corrupt, they "The fool" have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."The fool"
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men "The fool", to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They "The fool" are all gone aside, they "The fool" are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. "The fool"
IF there were no righteous men why did the writer write the words of verse 5?
Psa 14:5 There were they "the fool" in great fear: for God is in >>>the generation of the righteous.
First things first, my sister. You have a lot on your mind. Let's pray for order to be restored. Everything else will fall into place.
Put the Lord first, and the favor will follow.
It means return to your first love when you First met Jesus. The scripture is in Revelation 2:4
Just compare your life today to those first days when you asked Jesus to come in your heart. You read your Bible. You asked the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you have read. He's your Teacher, and the Spirit of Jesus; your Comforter; your Convictor when you make mistakes, your Helper. He's here for you. Just pray this prayer to return to your first Love:
Lord, after what I've read today, I don't want to allow any spirit of compromise in my life! I now understand that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans is compromise with the world. Lord, I don't want to live with one foot in the church and another foot in the world. I want to break free completely from the world and its influence so I can give myself completely to Your cause! I want to be holy, to live in a way that pleases You, and to experience Your power in my life. Today I am renewing my commitment to You all over again! I turn from the world, and I am running to You!
I pray this in Jesus' name! Amen :)
People who love each other, talk to one another every day. Open up and ask for your needs (not wants). If money, figure it down to the penny. If ideas come into your mind...it might be Jesus. Talk to Him. He listens to speech of faith. I happen to know that He likes to hear us sing and hum gospel tunes. Put him first and everything else will fall in behind him.
Laurie, this is the way to be released from things which trouble your peace:
Mark 11:25
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
How many times? Until that memory loses its power to trouble you.
I pray, that as you pray, that you will once again find your peace of mind and spirit.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says: to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Read verses 2-8. This season will come to a close if you will trust in what God says here.
It's the forgiving that makes this whole thing work. You'll not feel like doing this. It's an act of obedience and faith in Gods Word to us. Just like me, you'll wake up one day, and all that hate and discomfort of mind...will be peaceful.
My dear friend pray to your father Jesus. Many Christians don't receive because they don't ask stand in you faith repent you sins he will answer you.trust in him don't stop praising him amen. God bless.
We believers still bear the corrupt heart and mind of our old fleshly nature. As Paul said in Romans 7:24, "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?"
But then in verse 25, "I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."
It is Jesus Christ which delivers us from our own self. If we are sorely tempted, doubting ourselves, we must remember that our assurance of salvation is based on the pure righteousness of Jesus, freely bestowed on us that believe. We don't deserve it, never did, never could. That is the wonder of grace. His grace and mercy is boundlessly greater than all our sin.
We have the power and authority by the Holy Ghost to cast down imaginations and bring thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ ( 2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We may not always prevent vile thoughts, but we can refuse to entertain them.
One necessary step to gain a victory here is found in Romans 12:1-2, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
The LORD wants us to be filled with the Spirit ( Ephesians 5:17-21).
Philippians chapter 4 has much to set our hearts and minds aright. In particular, verse 8 gives us the whatsoevers we should resolve to think about: things true, things honest, things just, things pure, things lovely, things of good report, any virtue, any praise.
Also the book of Psalms is commendable for promoting right thinking and can be read one a day to good benefit.
@ Joyce B. Many are going through varied pains and suffering, both mental and physical, from sinful thoughts to losing faith and having to struggle to regain who we want to be in having a close or closer relationship with God. The great upheaval in the world right now is causing fear and confusion among so many. Sometimes, as humans it is easier to run away from reality into dark corners to seek solace, only to fail and fall.
Sincere advice. Seek council of a trusted 'bible based' pastor. (they can talk on the phone or email, if you can not leave your house) Be honest about what you are dealing with, so they can pray with you and give firm council. Rid yourself of anything in your house that is causing this trouble/temptaion and do not turn it on again, buy it again, etc. Once it's gone, let it be gone. If your health is good, consider fasting for a few days and stay in prayer. Talk with God, so you are not alone when these thoughts come to trouble your heart. Walk, exercise, clean.
I have been having very intrusive sinful thoughts. I have prayed and prayed. Sometimes I wonder where is GOD for me! I don't even have assurance of salvation or heaven anymore. Can someone pray for me or help me to understand?
The Bible says a lot about the tongue- watching what we say. If even non-Christians think profanity is wrong, how much more should Christians watch their tongue and not use profanity, because Christians are supposed to be a light and good example to the world. Link
It's called an unclean spirit. When our guard is down and we hear too much worldly input; it squishes out of us. Ask forgiveness from everybody who heard it. It's spiritual warfare. Put on that helmet of salvation :)
I go on YouTube and watch some Mario Murillo sermons. You'll feel better.
From a religious viewpoint, swearing or cursing is generally considered sin. The main reason swearing is considered sin is because it reflects evil intent coming from one's heart, rather than merely the content of the word that is spoken. From a Christian perspective, swearing and cursing is not limited to just verbal expressions
Bob Hilt you are right. Check this out; Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel." Notice he didn't say God's gospel. HIS gospel? Acts 16:28-31, Paul has the opportunity to tell this man what it takes to be save. Luke 18:18-25. Jesus has the opportunity to tell this man. Hey wait until they kill me and believe on my blood and you shall be save. Paul teaching is difference from Jesus Christ. God greater then Jesus! St John 14:28Rom 8:11and St John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing- Rev22:12-14 St John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do." Psalm 72:17-18 Read and compare. Ty
Dear Victor, thanks for the reply. I replied to your assuming Paul was lying and I replied with points that counter that claim. Your response here seems to be on a variety of different topics which I don't completely understand.
>Stop praising the man
Are you talking to me, because I'm not praising a man, are you? You make a claim that Paul was lying and refuting that doesn't mean someone is praising someone if that's what you were assuming.
>Paul and rest of those boys Changed the truth of God into Lies.
Now you're making other claims. What 'boys'? What 'lies'? Are you trying to discredit the Bible? If so, how do we know that what you're saying is true and not a lie?
Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
2 Peter 3:15 - And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul (BELOVED BROTHER PAUL) also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2 Peter 3:16 - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things;
in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest,
as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
God Bless and prayers are with you.
I go on YouTube and watch some Mario Murillo sermons. You'll feel better.
2 Peter 3:15 - And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul (BELOVED BROTHER PAUL) also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2 Peter 3:16 - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things;
in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest,
as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
