Have you ever sinned and/or lied? No one is perfect except Jesus. Of course Paul sinned like everyone else, but he turned from it to follow Jesus. To me it seems presumptious to claim that Paul lied so his books can't be trusted though. Notice it's worded 'If...' which may be a hypothetical and he might mean our lives in general are as a lie since none of us can accurately communicate or portray the Glory of God. These writings are inspired by God and true. Here's a commentary on that verse:rnrnIf our lie, our false life, has thus shown forth his glory, why should we be individually condemned"?
It's not what we think, just how many times does God have to point that out:.. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil Prov.3:5-7 ." Then Paul quotes God to say: Phil.1:27-29. And Ps.51:5.
All have sinned! That's why the earth was destroyed by the flood. But, Noah found favor...we have found favor in God's mercy and are not justified by The Law or Works, but by FAITH in God's SON v. 25,6! Amen and Amen
This particular verse is just one of the many quoted but misunderstood verses that's often used to justify misdeeds. Throughout the bible's pages, many men were deemed righteous such as Job 1:6. In the New Testament we have in the book of Luke 1:5-6 Zachariah and Elizabeth were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Adoniyah: Luke 1:5-6 is Telling Us How The Parents of John Done All Things Blameless in The Old Testament. Same with Job. We are Now Living in The New Testament. We are Free From Most Things in The Old Testament. Christ is Our One Blood Sacrifice for All Who Come to Him. Forever /If You, Me or Anyone Tries to Live Like They Did---- Lake of Fire / We Can Go to The Throne Room Boldly( Hebrews 4:16

God has put away our sin! He judged Jesus in our place! His wrath has been satisfied and judgement has rendered! All those that believe on His name will be saved! Salvation is a finished work! When Christ sat down at God's right hand we sat down with Him! Our position in Christ is one of rest! Our salvation isn't performance based but rest in His performance!
For the believer, circumcision or the lack of it was a matter of total indifference. What really counted was the faith and obedience that have always characterized covenants between God and humankind.
Amen the all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God none righteous no not one the Jew has to acknowledge the righteousness of God as well as the gentile must have to repent be baptized in Jesus name acts 2:38 the only way they will see Jesus they have no boasting being a Jew no more the old law makes them righteous but the new law old testament has been demolished.
Do we make void the law by faith God forbid we ESTABLISH the law, what this means is the RIGHTEOUSNESS of the LAW is ESTABLISHED by faith,THE LAW IS THE VERY ESSENCE OF GOD, TO LOVE GOD WITH ALL OUR HEARTS AND MINDS IS FOREVER, THE 10 WILL NEVA BE DONE AWAY WITH BUT THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL BE FULFILED IS BY THE NEW BIRTH AS THEM THAT ARE BORN OF GOD CANNOT SIN.THATS HOW HE WILL FULFILL THE LAW.
As it was in the Kingdom of Heaven so will it be in like manner in the latter days of the Kingdom of God - Acts through Jude. Always the religious people who reject the indwelling Power of our Blessed Lords Holy Ghost which is speaking in Tongues made of the true and genuine Temple without hands unto His Everlasting Glory to come amen indeed. The Kingdom of God is not of this world and never was.
Yes we need to ONLY trust in the blood of Jesus but if while were trusting we seemingly "sin" as life under law would say, we must understand we are no less righteous or worthy of God then we were 10 minutes before we missed God. And that is where the devil is messing with the church and messing them up. Jesus said I wish you were either hot or cold. Don't try to mix law with grace. Your Righteous
Because God's chosen people, the Jews, rejected Christ as the messiah,he opened the the door of salvation to the Gentiles also. We are all one in Christ Jesus,if we believe and are baptized into Christ, according to the plan of salvation, and live our life by his word.Using God's word, as it is written, to govern our lives and guide us,all may experience Christianity and be acceptable.
Bruce - Of course I knew that, and so does Mike Wms. I agree, it could have been stated better - now that you made me look at it from a different angle. But, the 'main' point of the statement is not the redeeming, but the ecumenical 'reforming' of the world. That's what Ch. Sheldon wanted to do. He just didn't understand 'salvation'.
Irene: Christ is The only One who Redeems. Without His Blood there's no Salvation. Verse 24 says: Redemption is in Christ Jesus. The Mission of True Believers is to Tell Others The Way of Salvation. We are The The Only Light in this World of Darkness
Bruce,I believe the verses you gave."fearful","spirit of fear"could be referring to worldly things.I will hold fast to: Luke 12:4"Jesus said,And I say to you my friends, be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do." 5."But I will forwarn you whom ye shall fear:Fear him, whom after hath killed hath power to cast into hell.Yea,I say unto you fear him
Lu2677: For God hath not given us The Spirit of "Fear";but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. 2Timothy1:7 / But the "Fearful",and unbelieving---- and idolaters and all liars, shall have their part in The Lake which burneth with Fire and Brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8 / Fear says one needs a Savior! / Let us---come boldly unto The Throne of Grace---. Hebrews 4:16
In this chapter, Paul posits that faith in God through Jesus Christ obviates the law. But this concept muddies the waters in that there is no concretion to the concept of faith. How is faith measured. It is self declared mostly by born again who feel enpowered now to ban the right of woman to chose what happens in their own bodies and who can marry who. Hypocrites! First cast out the beam
It saddens me greatly when you write things like"Fear of the Lord is reverence and respect".
Do you not know how powerful he is?Do you not know his might? Do you not see his judgments and wrath? Has he not taught you to fear him with dread and trembling? If you don't know that he wants you to be afraid of him you do not know him. Wake up and believe his word! It's the beginning of wisdom.
Amen
By keeping the law we are trying our best to do our part on this earth but if we stumble then we have an advocate in Jesus. Many want to use the word faith so we can try to avoid God's laws but works is a product of faith in Jesus. We are all sinners so let's do our best. God bless
I think. Romans 3 means that if you've accepted the Lord as your savior and die in your sin he is just to forgive you do to your lack of knowledge. When you know no better you do know better. When you know better you fo better.Do you think your earthly father will abandon you because you do wrong.No.Well your heavenly father loves you more. He's a merciful God.Love covers a multitude of sin.
The Fear of The Lord is reverence and obedience. Bowing our heads in prayer, kneeling before Him in church, etc. That is being reverent. I think reverence also implies submitting ourselves to God the best we can. Thank you for the fellowship Peace of Christ be with us all
