Romans 6 shows the relationship between sin and the law, demonstrating that sin violates the law of God but that baptized Christians don't have to follow that path since the cross has liberated us from sin. We now have the power, through Christ, to recognize, refuse sin, and not be in violation of the law. Grace permits us to turn away from disobeying the law of God whose existence points out sin.

It doesn't have anything to do with the nails or cross. However it does symbolize death and resurrection. More importantly baptism is just that. Being baptized a key part in steps to return to live with God again. Christ was baptized not to wash away sins but to fulfill all righteousness as stated in Mathew 3:15. In Mark it talks about being baptized of water and the holy ghost both are needed.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

  • LaTasha on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
We are not under the Mosaic law anymore. We are indeed under grace. Jesus came and died for us in order to fulfill the law that grace may abound. We should not be teaching the Mosaic law with grace. Because he came so the law would be fulfilled . So, we can't just pick the law back up and mix grace in. Otherwise, we make the death of our Lord and Savior null and void. The Mosaic law was impossible to keep that's why sacrifices had to be made to cleanse their sins. The Lord was a sacrificial lamb once and for all. Colossians 2:14 tells us that the handwritten ordinances that were against us were blotted out and taken out of the way by the nailing of it to his cross. So, this tells us plainly that the laws were done away with on the cross by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I thank my heavenly father for Jesus Christ out Lord and Savior, who died to free us from our sins. I'm grateful for God, our father's "Grace" that saved us and gave us another chance to live free from destruction. God is so good and he really do love us. He even promised that when we choose to follow him and stay righteous, his blessings comes with no sorrows. I love God!

Romans ch 6 is an exhortation to keep The Commandments which are all embodied in The New Commandment of Love. Yeshua taught over and over about keeping The Commandments in order to follow The Lord our God. To pursue The Lord is to love and pursue Holiness proceeding from The cleansing and doing of The Word. Rom2:13 28, James 1:22-23

Nothing but the blood of Jesus can cleanse us. For all that Jesus went through for us we ought to abstain from all things that is not pleasing to Him.
  • Lilian on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
Thanks be to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us. Because of his blood we are now redeemed on the cross, he have come to give us life. Our job now is to follow Jesus and obey his words. He who loves Jesus will keep his commandments until rapture. By his blood we are forgiven and pardoned. Thanks to Jesus for his Resurrection, His Ascencion into heaven and thanks to Jesus for sending us the Holy Spirit in order for us to have life in abundance and will be free from the hands of the defeated devil. We must avoid and stop sinning. We must seek God's kingdom first into our life and hear his words and obey them. Only from his words we recieve Peace, happiness and life in abundance. Without Christ we will not be save. If we keep ourselves away from God. The life we chose becomes miserable and God is not responsible for the life that we chose. Jesus always reminds us to keep ourselves be found in the Church and read the bible. God has the master key to open each door for us. Once he opended nobody can shut our door. Amen and thank you Jesus for your blood, i will trust you Lord forever for my life is yours. Amen

Romans chapter 6 shows that the reward of sin is death- body and soul. The reward of rejecting sin is everlasting life. Our sins are forgiven through the death of Christ but we cannot continue to sin just because God will forgive.
  • Mary MCcray on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
I think that Romans chapter 6 is wonderful, and very understanding like, We should yield our bodies as instruments of a righteousness life and not unrighteousness which leads to death. GOD Bless!! Ms Mary McCray
