Verse 19: Holiness is a product of committed righteous life style that mirrors Jesus Christ in you to the world. Righteousness is commitment to saying and doing what is right at all the time in season and out of season as a life style. Conversely, righteousness is commitment to avoiding sin and evil tendencies in season and out of season as a life style. You cant see God without holiness.

In the parable about the lord who forgave his servant, and that same servant went out and took his fellow-servant by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe! The other servants were grieved when they saw that and told their lord: so he called him and said to him, I forgave you all that debt, because you asked me; shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow-servants, like I had pity on you?
  • Tony Ekanem on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
The law stated " that a person who sold himself to another person (sin)because of his inability to pay his debt, can be redeemed by a close relative" Now, this close relative assumes the position of master in place of the "other person" The freed slave's Love, Loyalty, service and worship is now for his "close relative". Jesus paid our debt to set us free, he is our "close relative" and MASTER.

Forgetmenot,In Re:to the discussion about identifying a false Christian. It should not be a snap judgment and it should be based on God's standards, not men's. His Word tells us how a saved person is suppose to live. He tells us the sins that keep people out of His Kingdom. Christians are of one Spirit, they are like-minded. They love godly correction. One must be careful not to err in this.
  • Lu2677 on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
Forgetnot,Are you saying one cannot recognize a saved person?Last part;Matt.12:34"out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh"John10:5 (a saved person will not follow a stranger)John10:27 (Jesus said)"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" As in Isaiah11:2(does the person claiming to be saved have such things?)And 1Corinthians14:14. Saved=heeding God's word, repent.

The tree IS KNOWN by its fruits; and, Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen. We are begotten from above by the will of God, and by His divine power, through the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ: it is nothing that can come out of man's imagination or pretending. Until a man humbles himself in sincere repentance to God, and is truly converted, he won't experience.
  • Forgetmenot on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
To assume that one is free from sin, or converted cannot be verified except by God. To assume that one is saved also is up to God. That is why for this life of various degrees of suffering, one should be aware of the Big picture which includes the lawbook called the Torah. In that book one's rewards and punishment were swift and just. I consider the Old wine and new wine. My body-the bottle

I believe this chapter is a good lesson to teach everybody and retract those that say they know it. I will review this often. It has a real clear meaning to me.
  • Sydney on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
To live for Jesus and to love Him and to be in His Grace is so much better then living for the world and their so called lusts for life that only ends in death and never to My Savior again. Praise be to the ultimate gift of love and life.
  • Irene123 on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
To Arlen - Rom. ch. 6 is a good new convert chapter. And it's good for ALL of us to review occasionally - at least once a week - LOL. No, I'm not being facetious. Once a week isn't too often. The Day of the Lord is so much nearer than when we first believed .....
  • Vonnie Walker on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
Paul is teaching that the wages of sin is death. You can't make it's any plainer than that.
  • Zari on Romans 6 - 7 years ago

Love gives : This is the True way to show Love : By giving : God gives : The devil takes as well as death , it takes : Sin takes : I ask myself : What am I working toward : Life or death : Jesus Christ came to give life and that more abundantly : The devil came to steal , kill , and destroy : Now the devil does NOT make me sin : I do that on my own accord : I must be careful to make the right decision to go with God : There hath no temptation taken me but that which is common to man , but God is Faithful , who will not allow me to be tempted above that I cannot handle , BUT WILL with the temptation also make a way to escape !!! I do not have to sin !! Praise God !!
  • Lucy Whitt on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
I believe it is a warning to people to stop sinning and its an invitation to come to Know Jesus Christ as their Savior , and accept Him in their Heart, and have their sins washed away
  • LadyA on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
Thanks be to God for saving us and most of all giving his only begotten son who die on the cross. That's Love!
  • Lilian on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
Jesus reminded to Nicodemus that Unless a Man be born of water and the Holy Spirit He cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. It is very important for us to be Born Again in Spirit and not in the flesh . We should walk by Faith and not by sight somehow God loves us so much HE SENT JESUS FOR US SO THAT OUR SINS WILL BE FORGIVEN JESUS IS THE REASON WHY WE HAVE LIFE. LET'S PRAISE JESUS AND WORSHIP HIM
  • John nofi on Romans 6 - 7 years ago
There remains no more sacrifice for sin. Jesus death paid the sacrificial price outlined in the old testament. All that is left for us to do is be obedient, and that is a matter of response to God's overwhelming goodness and love.
  • Pastor Donnie on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
Romans 6 is a "Powerful" scripture when kept in it's proper context. It's important to recognize that the transition into "All" things spiritual. So many people think the apostle is talking about a water baptism here.He is not ! Paul is describing the spiritual baptism that we see in 1 Cor. 12:13. The work of the Cross of Jesus Christ is a complete work ! Nothing needed but faith in what he did!
  • John on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
Vs 4 - We are baptized (immensed) into Christ through the work of the Holy Spirt. A Circumcision not made by hands. (Col.2:11-12). Through the Law we understand what sin is ( Rom. 3:20). It converts us (turns us around). Psa 19:7. The Law is a SchoolMaster to lead us to Christ. (Gal.3:24). Through Repentance and faith ( Mark 1:15), we are Born from Above ( John 3:3), and delivered from the Law. Vs.14
  • Justin on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
When we receive God's revelation given in this chapter, we will walk in total victory over the world, flesh and the devil! Understand this chapter is spiritual not carnal....It's not speaking of water baptism, but rather, our co-participation in the death of Christ! WOW! When we got saved we DIED to sin, and now LIVE unto God!
  • Jim on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
Continuing with the theme of our old nature being crucified with Christ... when we believe this and count on it suddenly we step out of the picture. We are believing in what He did and we can take no pride in it.Our old nature is then diminished at least temporarily and we can experience periods of victory in Christ!Yes we should yield our members to Him but this is how it is done.He gets the glory
  • Michael C. on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
Sandra: I went through something like you. When the day of repentance came, it was a real and total conversion for ever. All praise and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! I soon found that there were a lot of things I had to unlearn from before, and to relearn; and many former brethren forsook me after I came back. It is a gradual process of the Holy Spirit's teaching and leading us into all truth.

The soul that sinneth, it shall surely die.
  • Sherri on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
My husband brought me to God Through Paul I grew up in church but never in love of it ,he took so much time trying to explain forgiveness and that I did not need to do the ten commandments and the guilt was gone that is when I started to love God ,see I could sin today and still be saved but why would I want to hurt my God who saved a person like me.
  • Wayne on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
He that committeth sin is of the devil. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8. Whosoever sinneth not is born of God. For His seed remaineth in Him and he cannot sin because he is born of God. Verse 9.
  • Laymen. William Wright on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
According to Romans 6:23 it states clearly that sin will bring you death and this is obviously a permanent death in Hell in the burning furance. Of course, this is the act of Christ, if you do not confess, repent and seek forgiveness of your sins. But through His love, grace and mercy, he will forget all of your trepasses. My suggestion to those who are lost, find Him soon, before it's too late.
