I agree with Mary's idea . As I went through the chapters song of songs , there was a female mentioned here, and she was black. And the whole chapters never mentioned God. When we read the Bible that mentioned about the Queen Shiba, I already got my thought that she perhaps became King Salomon's lover and so on.
I think the Song of Solomon is true in what loves is all about. Some times we do things that pulls us from what God wants from us and do wat we think God wants us to do. Love is the only thing that God has for us that makes Him forgive us for those things. The same in a marriage. If one makes a mistake ask for forgiveness from your hard as we do to God and be sincere. Love is for eve so is God.
I believe that this is not intentionally racist, nor is it meant to be taken entirely literally. Very dark flesh in the ancient middle east would 've been slightly exotic, but it also is a common descriptor for evil or sinful ideas and actions. This was a way of saying that not all things dark fall into that category. It was also seen as an allusion to the queen of Sheba by the alchemists of the middle ages and renaissance and a common fantasy of the white European or Anglo was to purify the dark black earthly feminine into its golden white counterpart. One of many ways of describing the process of transmutation from the lead of simple fallen earthly woman to the golden white of the ineffable godhead. Also according to other myths of the time Solomon and the queen of Sheba have a daughter named Bellacarne who is black and white and whose name means "beautiful flesh " roughly translated. I think this proves that it is less to do with race and more to do with a balancing of the two extremes. Beautiful words.
Salomon is talking about his passionate love for The Queen of Shiba, that resulted is the fall of Israel He loved this woman the same love his father David loved Bashiba, ready to forget his covenant with God for her. And that resulted in his own fall and the all of Israel. I wonder if that would have happened if those priest would have left him love the woman of his heart, that 's all he wanted.
The song of Soloman to me represents the church how we long to see our betrothed coming. It 's a love story. The bride if Christ longing for her lover and her lover longing for her...I think Solomon was seeing into the future.
I think he is saying what is it other than nourishment that feeds the soul? I take it to mean inspiration to love and be lost in love and love unconditionally.
I dont understand what the song of Solomon is trying to say. I have prayed for understanding . It sounds poetic but speaks in terminology that is confusing to me ..
I love people who distort the scripture,as if one needs to explain that even though they are black, they are still worthy of praise. this is and has always been racist. "stick to the original verse ".
I don 't see middle eastern at all lets not ignore the truth once again. Solomon is more like the tribe of Benjamin or Levi so please brothers and sisters do your research it will help you to know the bible.
I thought the woman was speaking at this point and that she was the one who had black or very dark skin. Either way the people of the Bible, especially the Old Testament were of the Middle East and therefore a shade of brown light or dark they were darker than pale skinned Europeans I thought I would add that part for people like James who might have an image of pale skinned people when reading the Bible .
It great to talk about the bible even to otheirs. God bless to all.Everybody has a spark in their heart to open up life so you can change your life all around just reading the impance about the bible. God is great all the time and he will always be our angel.
It is very important to understand the big picture of Solomon to grasp the truth. The end really ties it all together with Revelation Watch YouTube Pastor Luke- Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes
Personal hygiene is important and the use of perfume is a plus. We can be around attractive people all day long but we must not lust after them that is only reserve for your husband or wife. So, don't let your eyes linger upon them to stir up passion of lust..
I think about dead fish selfish. If you don't have the Holy Spirit to guide you or you continue to do wrong to Gods people there will be consequences. People need to understand that the symbol of dead fish means a fish without the living water. Most people find times where they run into self centered individuals. These people can be in your very own family so you have to be on guard to take care of your own life before you allow someone to use you up.
All the Songs Of Solomon are foreshadow of Jesus' love for his bride the church. remember that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. Solomon is a foreshadow of Christ and the Shulamite Bride is a foreshadow of the church. The passion and adoration of these Old Testament characters represent Christ's love for His church. Remember Ephesians 5:25
The woman represents the Church and she talks with her love, which represents Jesus Christ. One day soon, Jesus will come back to take the Church to the King's chambers and abide there. Beloved Lord Jesus, tarry not long! Rapture your love to the home you've been preparing above! But until you're time be revealed, we will wait.
