I found out about Tobit when I was a teenager. I think my brother told me because he was into the Grateful Dead. Apparently they got the title of their band from Tobit.
The dead ; who were left in the street to rot after they were killed by the wicked king, were grateful that one of their country men took them and gave them a burial. He even risked his life to do so. I was never that crazy about the Dead's music , but I sure liked that story. It took a considerable amount of time to find it.
I'm of the humble opinion that if this gentleman did exist, and he did do as the story stated; then-
THE Lord was like" Wow! This guy is so cool that I'm going to put him in my book!"
I dont know... I like this story. I know doesn't it follow the general theme of the of the other books. They point to the messiah, or the nation of Israel, the people. This is story about poor suffering Jew in Diaspora who did something remarkable for his brethren.
I found out about Enoch when I was 12. Initially, I didn't take Enoch seriously. A year ago I re-read Mythology stories; honestly, my eyes are open never realized those stories were true sometimes we have to keep hearing the lesson; before we learn absolute, Biblical Truth.
i think if these books were added to the bible in this generation so many people would be mislead because of ignorance and they would receive wrong interpretation from the spirits of error
ALL THESE BOOK WERE Taken out of the bible by the Catholics they are all part of the hidden from us by men through satan but God will add plague unto them. woe be unto the who add and taken out
I am a 61years of age and for me the book of Tobit is a new way of learning about something I didn't Know. But I do know is most pastor have a king James Bible with the books of Tobit and the book of Enoch and the books Maccabees.but for these responds no teaching.
Whoever thinks that these books should be in the bible, have only read the bible, not studied it. These books ARE NOT in harmony with the rest of the bible. They confuse and draw people away from a clear 'thus saith the Lord'. In my opinion, they are the work of another Christ...
PS: How are you? I am from France :)
