Hi Rachel , is it at all possible that you are working too hard and putting a lot of pressure and expectation on yourself ? You mention that you have beaten addiction , which is awesome , and you are studying very hard , are you by any chance a bit of a perfectionist ? I know a few of them and they get very stressed if they feel that they are not living up to their own standards . Do you have a good friend that you can talk to or even a professional counsellor ? I think maybe you might need to learn some relaxation techniques , and also , because you mention blurred vision I think it would be a good idea to see a doctor and tell them about that . Please try not to worry and get these things checked out please . All these things are sortable but you must ask for help and open up and talk to the right people . God loves you very very much , He loved you all through your life , He's not ever going to stop loving you so don't be afraid of anything or anyone but please talk to your doctor especially about your vision . Much love to you in Christ .

    Dear "SALLY",

if I understand you correctly: It have not being a rapture, and i belive it will not be like in

movie versions now a days. So everyone who is from Jesus' death now and until He returns is simply in the "waiting room" Paradise. And these will then appear on the last day. Luke 23:43 Afterwards we will always be with the Lord.

So help me the Holy Spirit to be on the path that leads me into the arms of God. Amen

God bless u and yours, love u in Christ. Hope you understand what i mean.

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Who and why are they called the two witnesses?

Lord Jesus took Peter, James and John to a high mountain and He was transfigured before them and then Moses and Elijah was talking with Him ( Mat 17:3). These two witnesses had to see the Lord Jesus physically on the earth so when they return to the earth, they will testify about Him ( Rev 11:7) and turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to the father ( Malachi 4:5-6) in the first half of the tribulation period when they will appear on the holy mount. They all witnessed the voice of the heavenly Father speaking to them, that this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased and listen to Him.

These two were the ones who were given the power for the fire to come down, ( 2Kings 1:10) stop the rain, ( 1Kings 17:1) turn the water into blood. ( Exodus 7:20) They are the two candlesticks having the olive branches by their side emptying the golden oil out of themselves for they are the two anointed ones that stand by the Lord Jesus ( Zech 4:11-14) to testify about Him and restore all things as Jesus said. ( Mat 17:11)

Many say that Enoch and Elijah will come again.

They were taken up to heaven and will come back again and then be killed and after three and a half, Spirit of life from God will enter them and then go to heaven. Well in the time of Jesus many died and rose from the dead again, Mary's brother Lazarus ( John 11:43) the widow's son who rose from the coffin, ( Luke 7:15) Dorcas ( Acts 9:40) and the daughter of the synagogue ruler, ( Mark 5:42) yet they also had a second death in their old age. For then Moses and Elijah will die again and be resurrected again for the Spirit of life will enter them and they will go to heaven. ( Rev 11:11-12)

Some teach that based on interpretation of; Isaiah 42:7, 1Peter 3:18-19, Ecclesiastes 4:14-16, Psalms 142:7, Isaiah 53:7-12, Revelation 1:17-18, Matthew 12:38-45, Luke 11:29-32, Ephesians 4:8-10, Psalms 86:13, Acts 2:27,31, Psalms 16:10, but none of these are clearly stated nor defined so. Jonah 2:2,

    Luke 16:22-31,

I guess my question is why?

    Jesus has all authority: Luke 12:5, Luke 9:1, Mark 1:27, 1Corinthians 15:24, Matthew 28:18, Job 26:6, Psalms 139, Revelation 1:18,

    Revelation 20, 2Peter 2:4,

Let's not divide over these issues, James 3:6,

Hopefully these are helpful in your study

Much could be written about the differences in John the Baptist's baptism, Jesus' Baptism, & believers' baptism - each one different & specific in meaning & application. Though to your last point: "if someone is in no position to be baptized - God does not hold him accountable". I believe, according to your belief on this matter, that each one is very much accountable to God, for there has to be a water baptism to secure salvation. Why should God make exceptions - if salvation can only come by faith & water baptism, then the absence of even one of those aspects, negates salvation. If a man is breathing his last breaths on a hospital bed & responds in faith to the Spirit's appeal to his heart, he must straightway be baptized, for if he slips into eternity without it, he cannot be saved.

Rather, the fact of believing & being baptized must go hand-in-hand when a sinner converts. This was always done in this way in the NT & always instigated by the minister of the Lord. If a believer is not baptized today, one must ask, 'why did the minister fail in his duty?' The command was given to the disciples to 'go, teach, baptize', not, 'you new believers, hunt around for someone to baptize you': that's absurd & brings the whole meaning of water baptism into question & disrepute.

Unfortunately, many today see no value in being water baptized because the Church has strayed so far away from its normal & proper practise - what they read in the Bible & what's being practised by the Church do not align at all. Baptism becomes an optional extra, whenever the believer is ready to do it. And it was never an option in the Book of Acts - you believed, you were baptized forthwith - because that was the special significance of baptism. I'll stop here & again thanks & GBU brother.

Hi again brother Giannis & thank you for your reply. I will restrict myself to the main points.

In your initial post, you shared the Scripture, 1 Peter 3:20,21, & I focussed on it, bringing up the matter of water baptism being an act of having a good (or, pure) conscience before God. That is, water baptism is undertaken not for God's benefit, but for man's: that man visibly partakes in identification with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for him. In so doing, he has not only done what was required by the Lord but also his 'conscience' remains pure & established in his desire to follow his Lord. I was hoping to discuss further on that Scripture, but I see that no one else has pursued it.

Re: Salvation & Works. When I reflect on this, 'works' is anything that has to be added onto faith to make that faith or salvation workable. So, you might have one who wants to make his faith sure by meticulously adhering to acts of kindness, of helping the poor, spending more time in Church & the Word, & so on. Nothing wrong with those acts, but very wrong if they are done to supplement faith, hoping to guarantee God's Acceptance. So, is believing in the Work of the Cross & in Jesus, even responding in love & thankfulness, a work? I believe not. They are heart/spirit responses to acts of mercy & love - those responses do not contribute to the saving Work of Jesus, rather a response to it. Then is saving faith a work? No - it is a Gift of God to effect salvation's work in a sinner. Is obeying the commandments a work? Under OT economy, yes, for by obedience to them, the Jew endeavours to please God & gain His Favour. Under NT economy, if obedience to the commandments is mixed with faith to secure salvation, then that salvation is spurious, not based solely on faith. Likewise, any act added to faith, even water baptism, cannot secure salvation.

Some preach fasting as a command because Jesus said "when, thou fastest" Matthew 6:16-21,

Sometimes people & Church congregations fast for closeness with GOD, to feel HIS presence, & clarity on direction from GOD: Matthew 9:15, Mark 2:19,20, Luke 5:34,35, Ezra 8:21,23, Nehemiah 1:4, Nehemiah 1, (in context.), Daniel 9:2-3, 2Corinthians 6:4,5

Fasting & prayer to help deliver people from sin, addiction, mental illness, demonic oppression, Matthew 17:21, (context) Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:17-29,

    1Samuel 7:3

    1Corinthians 7:3-5,

    Fasting for deliverance: 2Chronicles 20:1-30, Esther 4:3,16, in context: Esther 3:8-15, - Esther 4, Daniel 6:12-23, Joel 1:14, Joel 2:12,

Fasting in repentance, sometimes even after GOD's judgement : 1Samuel 7:2-17, 2Samuel 12:7-23, (do you think it was easier to except it because he was fasting? While others were perplexed?) 1Kings 21, note 1Kings 21:27-29, Jonah 3:5-10, Joel 2:15,

    Also Isaiah 58,

Jesus fasted an extreme fast: Matthew 4:2,

When it says in: Matthew 10:8, Luke 10:9, Mark 16:17-18, can we do these things without fasting?

I believe there are too many scriptures about power in fasting, direction, deliverance & repentance to think lightly of.

Fasting is submission, Romans 13:7, Luke 20:25, Matthew 17:25-26,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Hi.

Humility is the opposite of pride.

God says He resists the proud, but He is always on the side of the humble. "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate" Proverbs 8:13.

John tells us that "the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world" ( 1 John 2:16). Where does the pride of life come from? If there is anything that comes from the devil, that is it.

Even our salvation should spoken of with humility, It is something about which to glorify God. It should humble you being you had no part in it.

Paul writes, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" Philippians 2:5.

What kind of mind did He have? Lowliness of mind. He said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle meek] and lowly in heart. Matthew 11:29.

Pride is destroying the testimony of many Christians and has made them ineffective for God. They go in for show and draw people after themselves but they are building nothing more than wood hay and stubble.

Jesus tought a lesson in Humility in John 13:8-15. ( Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.)

Matthew 23:11-12. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:25-26.

    God bless.

    John,

I think that if a believer strives to feed the spirit, keep his/her focus on Christ, remain in submission to Christ, that believer does well.

As far as fighting the devil, my thoughts are that we don't have to fight the devil because he's already been defeated. We are told in Ephesians 6:11 to stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil, not fight, but stand. Why? Because our position is in Christ at the right hand of the throne of God in the spirit realm!

My understanding of 2 Corinthians Chapter 4 is that the entire chapter is talking about ministry.

I have broken this chapter down into 3 Chapter Outlines in my Bible as such:

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 gives us the philosophy of ministry.

2 Corinthians 4:7-15 talks about the plan in ministry.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 is the perception of ministry.

But you are correct about feeding the spirit and not the flesh. We are to deny our fleshly desires if we want to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Feeding the spirit is what produces growth in the believer. It also shows our love for Christ!

I have a question about demonic oppression and if I am actually oppressed. I wake in the night every hour or every two hours every night. I have nightmares that I am being attacked and assaulted sexually by people who turn out to be like demons in the nightmare and our trying to rape me or hurt me and one even posed as a christian for a minute until I realized she wasnt and I was fighting for my life and my child was in the nightmare as well and we were fighting these things and I was directing her. I sometimes have thoughts telling me I am God or Satan and the thoughts are so strong I questions whether it is me really causing me to think this. I sometimes have thought I was possessed but I dont have loss of control over my body or have any significant changes in personality or my voice or anything. I have noticed Ive been a little depressed like being tired alot just after being up not even 6 or 7 hours I need a nap. I feel sometimes like in the book of Job where he questioned whether he was good or evil. Over the past 3.5 years I have gained freedom from irratic addictive behaviors and have been in a program all this time. I also am pursing my masters degree in theology and study the Bible alot. After having the nightmare last night I woke scared but in my sleep it was so real I thought it was. When I woke I told the Lord I was ready to come home if he was ready for me. Im not suicidal but scared and desire to be under his wings safe in heaven. Sometimes the mental oppression is so bad I cant hardly stand it. I have been through alot in my life and it came a long way by the Grace of God to get me here. Last when I woke from nightmare last night I wanted to read the bible and all the sudden my vision changed to like a blurry covering over my eyes and I thought it was possible something else was in the room with me. That is when I woke and turned the light on and studied the Bible for three hours. Do you think I am demonic oppressed?

    Bro Alex,

Thanks so much for your reply.

You are correct that Jesus was without blemish/sin. I also agree with you that Jesus didn't have to be baptized, but he did it to fulfill the scriptures. In addition, I will add a few more very important reasons that Jesus was baptized.

    - To prove that he was the Messiah! Everyone that witnessed this special event that day, very likely became a strong believer!

    - To show the Apostles and the future Church (You, me and all Christians) what He expects from us when he commands us to be baptized. He truly wanted to make sure that we understand, and He performed this as a 'specific example" for us to follow!

After Jesus died on the cross for us, he came back to meet with his Apostles and during this meeting he instructed them below.

    Mark 16:15

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

    Mark 16:16

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Jesus tells us above that if we believe and get baptized we will be saved. This bears directly on our Salvation! Reread!

I pray that you will sincerely take this scripture above spoken by Jesus to heart!

Thanks Brother Jesse for that clear & concise definition of 'predestination'. Indeed, that is how we see (or, should see) the word used in Scriptures pertaining to those in Christ. I think some may be incorrectly understanding that word, when they should rather refer to God's choosing or God's election of specific persons. Even here, I see it as God's prerogative based on His Foreknowledge & Purposes.
