    Hi Pentecost, Apostolic,

I was referring to my first response to you where I asked a number of questions. Not the question you referenced. I do not see that question in your first post on this thread. Perhaps I missed it.

In any event. I do not wish to get in a protracted discussion on this topic. I am convinced of my view, as you, yours.

Anyone else reading this thread who is unsure will have to investigate both claims for themselves. May the Holy Spirit reveal the truth to all and may the truth prevail.
  • JESUS's CHILDREN FEEDING AND GROWING UP - 2 years ago
[I cannot find who I wrote this for, so I'm going to post here and hope he sees it.]

I'm saying this for the benefit of others who have, or are going through it. Jesus cleans and clears out our physical and spiritual house. The Holy Spirit is inside of us. He teaches the Bible to us; as we read the Bible. We are GARNISHING our spiritual house. If we fail to read the Bible, the armor of God, is unused. Ephesians 6.

    MATTHEW 12:43-45

Also the parable in Matthew 13:3-12

We cannot be invaded again, if we garnish our spiritual house with scripture. Satan tempted Jesus in

    Matthew 4:

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the DEVIL,

2 And when JESUS had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the TEMPTER came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Streetpreacher: We must form a strong resolve to follow Jesus as a disciple (which is a student sort of). We are fighting off invisible enemies. Ephesians 6.

I've been praying over this some days. SATAN was an archangel. He was CREATED as like an angel; just bigger and more powerful; in charge of praise and worship of God. He coveted the praise all of the angels gave to God.

Coveting is a sin. He led a rebellion against God. Satan and 1/3 of the angels who followed Satans rebellion, were hurled into the earth.

His new mission was to hurt all of the people on earth__especially the ones that loved God, and followed Gods known Will for them. Later they were given the Ten Commandments written with the finger of God, to Moses.

Most or questions about sin, can be answered by the Ten Commandments., Book of Leviticus and Deuteronomy. It's easily understood how God expects His believers to follow Him, and not our sinful desires. Twisting truth to accommodate having what we want.

Do the do's, and refuse the dont's. Life gets easier.

    Receive Jesus as Your Savior.

The word "Dominion" is in regards to stewardship, caretaking, honoring. The word has been misused by many

to imply that humans can do anything we want with abandon. I agree with you, we have created the mess of

the pristine world we were gifted. We have befouled the trust the animals placed in us as caretakers of them

by slitting their throats, spilling their blood, and eating them. And, we have disrespected the environment in

multiple ways via the pollution in the process of killing 70 billion animals a year, polluting the air, soil and water as well.

I made a conscious choice over twenty years ago to honor God and the animals by not eating them. I am an ethical vegan.

    Peace be with you.

God gave us life and loves all of us as Gods' children. We are meant to eat the plant foods, not the flesh and blood of dead animals who suffered and were killed. They did not want to die.

"For meat destroy not the work of God". peace be with you.

Your reply so blessed me! I had a friend who had been tossed out of her uncles home. She came to live with me and my young son while she finished High School. She married and moved to California. I was only on Facebook a few months, but I found her again. She was consumed with fears over what "they spray over the cities." I studied it from her perspective (fear); and mine (faith).

She's like my child, I love her no matter what she's done. Jesus is great enough to love all His children to wellness; if we let Him.

The rumors were some elite group of world murderers were trying to kill off people they had deemed a scourge on earth. I know our Father in heaven will not allow that. It's more likely that dwindling food supplies will be their method of choice.

Then again, God has promised us that He IS OUR SOURCE. We need to not to be afraid of "world rumors."

To boldly lift up the Name of Jesus as our Source.

Years ago I lived in an apartment complex, and women and children would come by and ask for canned goods

Every year at Christmas I gather most of my canned goods and take them to a church that gave bags of food to the needy. I never have expired can goods in my closet.

If everybody did that, Christmas would be a lot brighter :D. I donate sweaters, hoodies, coats, that I don't really need. Jeans that I can't wear. All very nice clothing. All Churches could gather up unnecessary, but nice, clothing to donate to churches that have Benevolence Ministries.

It hurt my heart that people would go door-to-door asking for spare food. I cried, but Jesus would give all they needed. I wonder how many churches collect items and take them to community food banks? There's a greater need now to help others. Signs of the Times.

May God bless you and overshadow you.

Were you afraid of your mom or dad or grandparents when you were a child ? Were you afraid of letting them down ? Or displeasing or disappointing them ? It's the same with your.....Heavenly Father , He is your creator , your sustainer , He gives you every good thing that you have in your life and He adores you . If you didn't ever want to incur your parents annoyance or displeasure how much more should you not want to annoy or displease your Heavenly Father who , unlike your earthly parents , is pure and righteous and always knows what is best for you . It's easy for me to think of God as my Father and my Mother , my breath my sanity my life , I didn't have great relationships with my biological parents so I have no problem in accepting God as my supreme parent .

    Good Morning, Pentecost, Apostolic.

Wikipedia defines person as a being that has certain capacities or attributes such as reason, morality, consciousness or self- consciousness.

It seems that that the word can denote a human being or a spiritual being.

I do not wish to have long discussion over the meaning of this word. But thank you for giving the definition from the Free Dictionary site.

Most of us who believe that God is a trinity understand that God is not human in nature (essence) but spiritual (with the exception that Jesus, the Son, who added human nature to His person to fulfill the redemptive plan of the Godhead from which was determined before creation). Prior to the incarnation, the Son was pure Spirit in nature along with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

If you do not believe God is three persons in one Being, then that is your prerogative. I just believe otherwise, as the Oneness doctrine does not satisfactorily answer the questions I posed to you in my reply to your original post.

    Dear Edward

Briefly speaking the oil always symbolizes the Holly Spirit

Lets see in the OT a prophesy about our Lord

    Psalms 45:6-7

"Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows."

The oil of gladness is the HS

Again in the OT the prophets anointed Kings with oil. It again symbolized the Holly Spirit

    1 Samuel 16:13

"Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah."

Also in the NT Paul asks anyone who is ill to come to the elders of the church and put oil on him to be healed.

    James 5:14

"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord"

The oil again here symbolizes the Holly Spirit. It is Him who heals.

So we see that a general symbol for the HS in the Bible is the oil.

Here are a couple more quotes from this very same woman:

"There is no God. There's no heaven. There's no hell. There are no angels. When you die, you go in the ground, the worms eat you."

"I told my kids I just want three words on my tombstone, if I have one. I'll probably be cremated. One is "woman." I'm very comfortable in that role. I've loved being a woman, I've loved being a mother, I've loved being a grandmother. I want three words: Woman, Atheist, Anarchist. That's me."

One must wonder if she is regretting the things she said and having rejected Jesus Christ before leaving this world? I'm sure she knows now that there is a God!

    Jill,

Eternal life is only by the grace of God the Father given through the life death, and resurrection of God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We only have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, we are justified by faith without the deeds of the law, but by faith and obedience of the only begotten Son, as He was obedient to the Father Hebrews 5:5-9 Matthew 26:38-42

Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

When I was young growing up many many years ago, I loved my Dad who has been gone many years now. I knew if I did wrong I would have to face my Dad. Was my fear the punishment I would receive, when I was real young maybe, but later the admiration and love I had for him I feared letting him down, the source of security and love he gave me. We should have a sense of awe and respect for the majesty of God the Father.

In Proverbs 1:7 are we being obedient? Is fear being scared? No! We have His promise, He will never leave us or forsake us, Hebrews 13:5. But with the knowledge that God can be frightening it should give us motivation as sinners to say no to the temptations and riches of this world, for our faith and hope is in the next world to be with our God the Father and Jesus our Lord.

Colossians 3:12-14 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Obedience, not our righteousness which is of the law, but Gods righteousness, a gift through faith in Jesus Christ.

    God bless,

    RLW

In ancient times, a cubit was the measurement from the elbow to the tip of the middle (or social) finger.
  • Jesse - In Reply on 1 Thessalonians 5 - 2 years ago
    Jill,

1 Peter 2:17 says we are to fear God. There are three commands in that verse that are Present Imperatives, showing continuous action. One of them is that we are to be continually fear God. Is it right to fear God? Yes! In fact, just by studying the social habits of man, did you know that we make decisions based on who we fear the most, and who we love the most? Sometimes we compromise with our walk with the Lord because we fear how other people are going to react to us if we obey the Lord. We fear them. We fear rejection. We fear their response. But we are to fear God, not man. Why? Because fear causes compromise. We are to be continually fearing God.

In 2 Corinthians 7:1, it says, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

Here's the basis for this: It says in the fear of God. That's a healthy reverence for God. And just in our own human response, we naturally do not fear God. And if we do respect Him, we fear people more than we do God. Sometimes we know that we are disobeying God, but we also know that He's a gracious God and He will forgive us.

But oftentimes we compromise our walk with Christ and then we come back and ask God for forgiveness because we know He's gracious and that He will forgive. But we don't have a healthy fear. That is to say that if we're disobedient, what if God in His love decides to allow us or cause us to suffer the consequences. We think that God's going to protect us in all that we do, but He disciplines those that are His.

So perfect holiness in the fear of God, having a healthy fear of Him. It's the beginning of wisdom. It's the beginning of knowledge. It's the very first response that we need to be sensitive to. How aware am I of God and His power, God almighty, and the fact that I'm getting ready to make decisions in His presence that might be in disobedience to Him?

    I hope this makes sense?

My Son saw something in Wikipedia about King Solomon using demons to build the temple and Michael the Archangel supposedly gave him a ring in order for him to control the demons. I had no fore knowledge of this, and was wondering if anyone here could give me scripture for it. Personally, since the temple was sacred I can't see how demons could be any part of it! Thank you.

    Hi Gabriel,

Thanks for sharing what is on your heart and I am sorry to hear the pain of what you're going through.

Be aware of bad advice and I disagree with those who that say if things are currently going 'bad' then it automatically means unrepentant sin. No it doesn't. Job's friends and family assumed that too and were incorrect. Jesus himself as a man on earth was crying out to His Father why has He forsaken Him? Obviously Jesus did nothing wrong and everything right, so some are not only struggling already, but adding unnecessarily guilt on top of it. Of course if someone is genuinely living in sin that's different.

Also the phrase "God helps those who help themselves" is not from the Bible. I think its one of those hearsay phrases that is falsely attributed to it, and I don't think that's good advice for everyone.

You mentioned the devil talks to you. As a believer in Jesus Christ you have the power to rebuke him and he will flee. James 4:7 He holds no power over you. Do not fear him, only fear God. Our spirit is not ruled by other spirits. We're blessed with freewill from God, but we will indeed be tempted, but we always have a way out.

I don't understand your ailment or what you perceive as God turning His back on. God doesn't turn His back on anybody. Each person has an equal opportunity in this life to follow Him. Praying in faith isn't beating a dead horse.

Not sure your specific obstacle, but if its health, God doesn't promise us good health. We are allowed to have afflictions and flaws. God uses people with these to do His work. Moses had a speech impediment (possibly), Paul had a thorn in the flesh (physical disability?), etc. Those on TV that pretend that God is a genie in a lamp here to serve us is a lie. It's the other way around, but He loves us enough to give us the freewill to choose to love Him or not.

God bless you. You have a home and a community of believers here.

.....Jesus cd not refer to the H.G. as the Promise if he were not the multiplication of very God in humanity which proves Spirits can be born in us via his seed the word...Thats y they call the bridegroom...even in the natural a bridegroom always reproduces himself... thats y he is saying whosoever receives one such child in my name receives me....She brought for a manchild which is the H.G that Child of Promise...The multiplication of very God in us...Thats y he has to know us thats when the good seed will sown in our hearts producing a new inner man....our new heart and new spirits..

.....Natural Israel ...Abrahams' seed was humans,..But the Israel of God are spirits..As God is spirit Thats y Jesus is saying that which is born of the spirit is spirits which is the H.G. the Children of Promise that are gonna be as the stars of heaven in multitudes...Thats y the New Birth is so important....We are gonna birth a baby Christ...Thats y he always refers to himself as the son of man...mankind has to be married to Christ and bring forth fruit unto God which are the Children of PROMISE... Romans 7 : 4....THE MULTIPLICATION of God..Ya gotta realise that it was God Almighty that swore by himself when he made this Promise..

I have been struggling with the questions, why are we to fear God? I praise the Lord with everything and I Don't understand, is it a fear of what God might do and is it a fear that the bad people need to be afraid of God because they know they have done evil things against God and against Jesus Christ.

Thank you for helping me with this question. I don't know if I should be afraid and have this fear of the Lord that awls I can seem to do anymore is praise his name and try to live as wholly as possible interview blessed by God. Thank you again, Jill
