Adam, these are good words to us reading here, thanks.

I think the covid ordeal has caused many people to find themselves more isolated than they have ever been before. Some people, like my 88 year old mom, already live out a fairly isolated life and so the covid ordeal has not affected them too much. But others, especially those who are outgoing by nature, may find this period of isolation unbearable. Some who, prior to covid, entertained and fellowshipped with others regularly, and then have had to cease most of this. Each person has needed to adjust in their own situation.

But you are so right, we are never completely alone as a believer, because God is within us! You cannot get any closer than that!

Still, the absence of face to face contact with other people can lead some into depression and loneliness. Perhaps those who know people who are vulnerable to this should make extra efforts to call these people more often and have a real conversation on the phone, not just texting, or do facetime.

For me, an outgoing person who now am home all day, I am learning to be satisfied with being by myself and my husband, who works from home in his office during the day. I am learning to pray more, study God's word more, and research topics that come up on this forum. Participating on this forum has been helpful to me. I am learning to rest in the Lord more.

    Dear Ray

    Adding to GiGi's comment below.

Jesus as a Son of Man (which simply means a man) had all the right to represant humanity on the cross. As a Son of God (which simply means God) He had no sins so death had no right to keep Him since death is the wage of sin (God's penalty to people for doing sins). That is why Father God ressurected Him. If Jesus hadn't been ressurected (which means that He had sins Himself) we couldn't have been saved.

Dear Jayne, what you wrote touched my heart.

Many people may be physically alone all day (including myself), but don't necessarily feel alone, so this seems subject to our own interpretation. Since God is with us are we ever truly alone? When we have online communities like this and other social media are we truly alone? I personally think its more difficult to be alone in a crowd than physically alone, but everyone views this differently.

I also believe God made us with different gifts and different roles- some are behind the scenes and some are more in the spotlight. The joy of serving God I think is about being obedient and not seeking human validation or appreciation. Jesus healed people in the spotlight and still hardly received appreciation. Of the 10 lepers He healed only 1 said thank you. 10%, which seems about average from my own volunteer experience. I drifted off topic a bit but in general I think God totally understands our circumstances and we can make the most of it to serve Him, according to the gifts He has blessed us with. We can also frame our circumstances positively as 'tests', as I think such challenges can be used to build our character- a more positive frame than just blaming God.

Something I heard in a movie last night thought was good:

"Why would a loving God allow these tragedies to happen?

Does the Lord want us to suffer?"

"I asked for strength, and God gave my difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom, and God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for courage, and God gave me dangers to overcome.

I asked for love, and God gave me troubled people to help.

    My prayers were answered."

    God bless.

Yes Amen Jesus loves us but his love is as a Bridegroom....He wants to know us thats when the good seed is own in our hearts....Thats y the sower of the good seed wants to sow his seed in our hearts that we might be bornagain of an incorruptible seed...Even by the words of God as Peter says

.....Unless the lord of the sabbath had left us a seed we wd have been made like unto Sodom and Gomarrah...But the lord has left us a seed which are the words of the book in the right hand of the Father....the Words of life... Romans 9 : 29 KJV

...God so loved the world that he gave his only son...The living Word are the seeds of God...And to whom the word came it made them Gods...Meaning we are gonna be married to God...A marriage is when 2 are made 1...As a young man marries a virgin so shall thy God marry thee as the Bridegroom rejoices over the Bride so shall thy God rejoice over thee.... Isaiah 62 : 5...We are gonna be married to God ...ty Jesus

    Hi James,

People commonly like to say that everyone goes to heaven. But the Bible indicates something different to me. It says all will face judgment. It also says when Jesus returns the dead will rise and all will be caught up in the air- which I believe happens before judgment. Given the order the Bible says, I believe after death we will be in a state of rest awaiting Jesus's return. The Bible even describes this as "sleep" in a few verses.

Regarding children, we have verses saying to be childlike, but verses also say all have a sinful nature and all have sinned. We all will die, we just don't know the timing and God is a fair judge. He will also judge those who assume they were 'saved' but lived a life following the world rather than Jesus.

    Hi Dee,

I found a page of verses about that:

    Link

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10

So, the short answer is no, alcoholics nor drunkards don't deserve to enter the kingdom of heaven, nor does anyone else without Jesus, for all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God and sin is detestable to God: Romans 3:23.

But fortunately, Jesus died to pay for our sins and we have an opportunity to accept His gift and follow Him, which involves doing away with our old sinful ways and becoming new.

    How to follow Jesus:

    Link

To me the question is not 'can I continue doing this sin I love and still go to heaven' but 'how can I follow Jesus and put my full faith and trust and life in Jesus'? God bless.
  • What Happens To the Body and Spirit at Death - In Reply - 2 years ago
    I wrote this yesterday. S

    Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a LIVING SOUL.

    Ecclesiastes 3:18-21

I said in my heart with regard to the children of man that God is testing them that they may see that they themselves are but beasts. For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity. All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return. Who knows whether the spirit of man goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth?

Job 12:7-10 But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?

***In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of ALL mankind.***

    Ecclesiastes 12:7

And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Everything returns to dust upon death. The spirits return to God. (Immediately)

Im praying for the supreme court and that God would continue to be merciful to our country. Sincerely, Joyce P Gipson

Reincarnation is Eastern occult beliefs. If the word isn't in the Bible; it is not truth. Use the Search Box to verify words.

They were talking of the Spirit of Elijah.

John was mortal. He was first called: one crying in the wilderness (a prophesy). Put that in the Search Box.

Know what the penalty is for being an astrologer?

DEATH SENTENCE. It opens a door for the demons.

Listen ladies, my pastor posted a verse from Proverbs 24:11-12. If you forbear to deliver those that are drown to death... And those that are ready to be slain... If you say: Behold... we knew it not. Does not He that ponders the heart consider this? And He that keeps your soul. .. Does He not know this? And shall He not render to everyone according to their works? But, I have to admit or confess, Im not qualified for this conversation. Tell me, where do I signup for the redbill? And do you mind if I bring this conversation to my church? Please, pray that I dont get sidetracked with this message and forget this mission. Currently, Im not involved, and I dont know the news. Please, continue to keep me abreast of the news and be encouraged. Sincerely, Joyce P Gipson

    Google:

THE SPIRIT OF BONDAGE AND OF ADOPTION by Charles Spurgeon. It's online. Type that in.

I was delivered of drugs, alcohol and suicide fantasies when I accepted Jesus. Jesus is real. I saw Him.

Give yourself and all the mess to Him. He will protect you.

Drive straight home every day. Do not buy any booze. Every day I made it home was victory. Soon it was a week, a month, 6 months, finally a year!!! At one year I gave my body to Jesus. I'm 36 years sober & no slip ups.

Pick up the Bible and hold it to your heart. Open it and let Jesus change you-and love you.

Song of Solomon: I am my Beloveds. My Beloved is MINE. Hold tighter.

Read of Peter when the storm was raging. He saw Jesus walking towards him ON WATER. He wanted so bad to step out too. Jesus bid him to come. He steps out and starts walking, then sees the waves and takes his eyes off Jesus. He sinks.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and the front door. Drive past all the liquor stores and go in the house! You made it one more day. Let the days pile up; one after another.

Then you will know that Jesus and you, did this together.

you do need to Believe, but it is not that simple. the word says James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, ( and by works was faith made perfect? ) James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works (a man is justified, and not by faith only. ) James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that ( faith without works is dead? ) this is the word of God and not my own opinion. Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged

Amazon Prime is showing THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (by Mel Gibson) this month.

It is beyond brutal what was done to Jesus. The Roman soldiers looked demon possessed. I looked at a wall; the sound effects sound like real body blows. There was no area of sound flesh. I cried.

Jesus of Nazareth is free on YouTube (6 hours). It's the best movie for Easter I think.

This I give for you to think upon, If what you believe is correct, Then we have to believe that Acts 2:38 Should be removed from the Bible, and discount the answer that Peter gave to the question in Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? I concur that you must believe with all of your heart Just as we see That God sent Philip in acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. this is Gods Answer to eunuch, And again I give you scripture, Not my opinion Acts 2:34 Thru 38

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. So, If what you say is true we must discount this also. Gods Word is true and we must believe the whole word, If we start picking apart Gods word to fit our own Idea then we have made Gods word of no affect and a lie.

Remember that peter had the keys Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent,( and be baptized every one of you ) in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. I'll be praying for you, you seem to be sincere and I pray God shines his light in your heart . please rememder I do not give my own opinion, Just Gods word

As the perfect Son of man, Jesus had the right to enter heaven. As the Divine Son of God, He had the right to sit at the right hand of the Father. There are probably more that can be said on this topic. It will be interesting to hear them.

  • How Jesus came to Earth as a Human - In Reply - 2 years ago
Satan was not human and still isn't. He's a created being.

    Earth was created for humans.

Before Jesus came to earth, he had to lay aside his power in order to be born as human. (fully God and fully human) When he was born of Mary, he became the Son of Man. He did no miracles until Luke 4:18. He received the Anointing. ( Isaiah 61:1-3)

On the cross Jesus stripped Satan of the authority he stole from Adam and Eve when they sinned. Jesus came to get it back-and give it to all born again believers.

You might enjoy a video (youtube) by Charles Capps: "authority of the believer". We learn what Jesus gave each believer.

    Mishael
