My favorite Chapter in the New Testament is John Chapter 15. Jesus speaks about the vine and the branches, and that apart from Him, we can do nothing. In my opinion, it is a tremendous chapter and puts my walk with the Lord into proper perspective!
If we were to compare water baptism today with how it was done back in Jesus' day, there wouldn't be much resemblance. I am not aware of any church that performs baptisms the same way it was done back then. Baptism back then would be complete full immersion.
It is very interesting how these baptism's worked. The person who was performing the baptism (In this case, John the Baptist), they would never touch the person being baptized. So Jesus went into the water alone. John would just be there to witness it. The person being baptized would be responsible for pulling them self under the water and the witness would be there to make sure that all of you went under, hair and everything!
Everything had to be immersed and you had to be immersed three times. Even to this day the Jews immerse three times in their baptism. The Jews had no idea why they immersed 3 times for their baptism. But after Messiah came, and when He gave the believing Jews the commission to go out and preach the gospel to the Gentiles, He said, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, three times for the Trinity. Interesting background!
As for Matthew 3:11, the fire represents judgment, and we get that from the very next verse ( Matthew 3:12) where is says "But He (Christ) will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. So Christ is going to baptize His people with the Holy Spirit. That is the Lord's ministry. He baptizes people with the Holy Spirit.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:10 that we have been all baptized by one Spirit and all made to drink of the one Spirit, and we have been baptized into the body of Christ. When the Lord ministers His Spirit, when He gives His Spirit to people, that is called "the baptism of the Holy Spirit."
So fire is judgment! He is going to baptize people (Those who have rejected Him) with fire in the judgment. But He is going to baptize His people with the Holy Spirit. That is His ministry.

Proverbs 1 says nothing about a 1,000 year period.
James 5, as well, says nothing at all about a 1,000 yr period of time. The only possible reference there is to the return of Christ and maybe the Wrath of God. Neither of which contain a 1,000 yr period of time. Matthew 24:29-31 presents the one and only return of Jesus and details many of the beginnings of the destruction of the earth at that very time. Millennium doctrine does not allow for destruction of the earth until after the 1,000 years. It is not supported by scripture anywhere outside of Rev. 20:1-7 which is symbolic or takes place in the spirit, not literal/physical. Isaiah 13:9-11 supports the same as Mt. 24:29-31.
2 Tim. 2 does not mention any 1,000 yr period of time. There is no support of the Mil. The only verse that could come close is 2:12 about 'reigning with Him.' That is not a reference to a Mil. time period, it is a reference to 1 Cor. 6:17 - our spirit being joined to the Lord at this very moment if we are 'IN' Christ
Please post 'specific' verses or passages if you wish to continue so that we can get right down to Hebrew/Greek 'word meanings' if necessary. Posting entire chapters is a waste of time.
Millennium = 1000 years

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Revelation 20:3
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Revelation 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

A close study of Revelation Rev. 12:1+ suggests that the faithful REMNANT ON EARTH which shall be protected throughout the Tribulation and find entry into the Millennial Kingdom are those who flee to the wilderness-the woman who has a place prepared for her by God ( Rev. 12:6+). We saw that the 144,000 of Israel, who appear to have an evangelistic role, could not be a part of those kept in the wilderness. Because of their evangelistic mission, they will not be in Judea when the signal comes to flee to the mountains and subsequently the wilderness. Furthermore, if they did participate in the flight and subsequent hiding, how could they perform their evangelistic task among the Gentiles and Jews of the Diaspora?
Nowhere is it said that the seal which these receive is to protect them against death throughout the Tribulation and from all causes. Scripture only tells us they are to be protected from the direct effects of God's judgments poured upon the earth. This is why the four winds of the earth are held back until they are sealed ( Rev. 7:1-3+). Judgments upon the earth, the sea, and the trees may not proceed until they are protected. Moreover, they are said to be protected from the demonic locust judgment ( Rev. 9:4+). All of these dangers come directly from God and represent His wrath upon the earth dwellers. They are to be protected from this "friendly fire" during their evangelistic mission. Does this necessarily mean that they are completely invincible for the entire duration of the Tribulation? If the example of the two powerful witnesses of God is any example, then perhaps not.
These are those who will evangelize people Left Behind after the Caught Up (Rapture); Who hid out in the hills and caves to avoid the Mark of the Beast or execution.
I'm saying AVOID DEATH and receive Jesus as Lord, Savior, LIFE ETERNAL__TODAY.

If you have not been saved according to the Bible, do so now...
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.- Romans 10:9-13
No human can control life and death. Yes, they will, but have mercy on them.
Only God. He has created all things and can send destruction, yes. Like in Proverbs 16.9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
We have been given the keys to so much in the spiritual world. Tie the various witch doctors on the run! Why do you think Jesus came to earth? Too kill? Or to give life. As long as life exists in a human being, it is always willing to and could change!
The hope we have is Teachers, who are willing to learn from the Scriptures. Matthew16.19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
But I can agree that the different countries that stand up for the Lord. Will always be blessed lands. They can if the circumstances will it overflow of milk and honey. This is where the Prime Ministers and the Royals come in. What a country recognizes by. They are subject to God.
The countries that recognize Jesus as the Son of God. Blessed with food and water. Small earthquakes and floods. But the earth has been depleted by humans and many years change over time. But do we not see the blessings we who call ourselves Christians in a Christian country?
Do not kill. It does not help. So something is good in the new age when we understand what guidelines we have with Jesus Christ the Son of God.
I can share with you in the scripture today Mark chapters 9 and 10. There we can read about hard hearts.
God bless u and yours in Jesus Holy Name.
For added information, if interested, the Scythians were a nomadic people but quite fierce & warlike, often conducting raids into the southern areas (below the Black & Caspian seas). Maybe, that's why the Apostle Paul referred to them in Colossians 3:11 when declaring the comparison between Jew & Greek, those of the circumcision & uncircumcised, Barbarian (primitive/uncivilized), Scythian (warlike), & those in bondage (slaves) & the free. He was trying to cover the whole range of people groups, no matter who they were & what their beliefs & culture, that IN Christ they (& we) can all be one.
You may need to give more information on your second question (unless someone here is aware of a verse). The only one that comes to mind is a very general command and is found in Leviticus 19:18, "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD."
Isaiah chapter 47 is about Babylon & the Chaldeans (Babylon's inhabitants). I don't see America or any other country in that chapter, nor anywhere else in the Bible. I don't say that the nations will not play a major part in the end times, but Isaiah doesn't show it. Indeed, the wicked acts in that chapter might be common to all nations, but to state any specific country other than what is given, would be unwise for me to do.
Luke 21:20-24 when Jerusalem will compassed with armies, is sometimes connected with the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, though of course there will be other calamities during Anti-Christ's rule. And we know that Jerusalem has been invaded several times with many suffering & fleeing. But verse 24 I believe is the key: "Jerusalem will be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." 1948 might have been a special year for Israel but not the end of the matters in the Bible. We are presently in those times of the Gentiles, whether for the gathering in of those still to be saved or even of Gentile powers against Israel. But when that time ends, Christ comes with His angelic forces to overthrow all who have opposed Israel. Yes, Israel will suffer, as they have throughout their history, but God in mercy, will still hold His Promise true & those who survive these destructions & those yet to be saved in Israel, will indeed know the salvation of God & His Christ.
