Ezekiel, from chapter 40 threw the end , is all about the millennium
  • Richard H Priday on Isaiah 33 - 4 years ago
These verses clearly indicate the period of time stretching from the Tribulation into the judgment immediately after into the beginning of the 1000 year rule of Christ on earth.

The first four verses show that once Antichrist and his armies are done with the work God has designed them to do through His Divine counsel to totally break the remnant of the saints (as Daniel states); and to bring national repentance for all who enter the Millennium; He will cause the same fate to be given to Israel's enemies as what they performed on them.

The next couple verses may indicate either those individuals trusting in God and or the future fulfillment of the peace of Israel following the time of Jacob's trouble. Verses 7 through 8 once again show the false peace and the effects on those in league with the Antichrist with the Daniel 9:27 covenant and the bewilderment following his betrayal. Verses 10 through 12 seem to indicate the "thorns" or tares who are in Armageddon and burned up with God's fierce indignation; while 13 through 17 show the characteristics of those who can dwell with "everlasting fire" (v. 14) with the answer in the following verse; which shows the characteristic of a Godly man. The rest of the chapter is clearly a Millennial promise for those who have endured the terror (v18 and 19) in the Tribulation; v. 17 shows how the throne of Messiah in Jerusalem will be visible from far away; verses 20 through 24 show the effect of physical healing and the permanence of His tabernacle where He shall rule throughout the 1000 years; with perhaps a literal description in verse 21 of waters from the throne much like that of the end of Ezekiel where the waters will make the Dead Sea be full of fish and partially freshwater (except for the borderline in the reeds). Such an intrusion of waters already is being observed with life in the Dead Sea showing this time may be very near indeed.

    Reference: 2 Chronicles Chapter 21 Verse 17 vs 2 Chronicles Chapter 22 Verse 1

King Jehoram youngest son is named Jehoahaz (2:21:17) why is his named referred as Ahaziah when he becomes the next King of Judah (2:22:1)

Note: 2 Kings confirms only the name Ahaziah; It does not say the name Jehoahaz.

I am new to the word of God but I have always been his rock. I am reading the bible linear from Genesis to Revelation to know his word. It is very complex but this is the first point of which I perceive a discrepancy. Am I reading incorrectly? Can you provide an explanation for the name change; please enlighten me?

How about before we accept you invite to what seems to be an debate how about you give us your take on these verses.

    Isaiah 65:14-25.

    Revelation 20:4-8.

And the contradictions you mentioned. And then we peacefully engage.

    God bless.

    And thanks in advance.

Amen, Mishael. It's nice to read a slice of your testimony.

I'm naturally wary of progressivism infiltrating the church. If someone comes up with a new term to describe a new movement that spreads like a marketing campaign, I think odds are high that it may be a false teaching. In Google searching this replacement theory I was not surprised to find that it doesn't sound Biblical or grounded in truth.

I think some of this originates from choosing the world as their foundation and seeking to make some of God's word conform and bend to it, rather than just use God's Word first as the firm foundation and not try to appease the culture. I think God's word is truth and can stand on its own as it already is and not need some new interpretive lens or progressive movement to reach people or to be understood.

Agreed. Believers have no business delving into these practices as they open doors to wicked influences. But I do think believers need to be aware of the subtle "doors" to occult practices. Yoga and mindfulness are a couple even if it is packaged as Christian yoga or mindfulness. Also, seeking supernatural experiences concerning the "presence" of the Holy Spirit, such as "holy laughter" "being drunk in the spirit" "feeling electricity going through one's body". Seeking the experience and not truth is dangerous in some ways. I am not saying that someone cannot be moved by the Spirit or feel the Spirit pressing on one to pray or do or say a specific thing. I have had such experiences, but I did not go seeking to be "receive an anointing or blessing" for these things to happen to me. Those who are experience seekers or wishing for a hyper emotional encounter with the Holy Spirit are often introduced to occult influences under the guise of a "blessing" or "anointing" or "encounter" or with the Holy Spirit. Scripture calls us to be sober minded and reverent in our approach to God. Since He is in charge and decides when and how He will impact us, there isn't a need to seek or press for such an experience. The Lord will bring it to us at the right time and in the right situation.

In today's church environment, there is a lot of new age or occultic practices being introduced repeatedly over the past decades. We all should be wary of anything that is the "new" thing in church circles. We need to keep our guard up, especially if we participate in a charismatic or pentecostal type of fellowship. I am not bashing these types of churches, but, just like the Catholic churches, "new" ways of accessing the Holy Spirit have cropped up over the last years that lead into occult influences. This is called syncretism, which is blending occult or pagan practices with Christian practices, often with seemingly "spiritual" Christian sounding names and descriptions. Let's be wise.
  • Richard H Priday on Isaiah 31 - 4 years ago
These passages seem to primarily refer to the abasement of Egypt in the initial 3 verses in Isaiah's time as many other passages do warning Israel not to flee there and trust in them when other nations are attacking. The rest of the passage referring to the "Assyrian" in verse 8 likely are a reference to the Antichrist; perhaps when he receives as deadly wound with the sword as Zechariah 11:17 especially with the analogy to shepherds in verse 4. The retreat to the fortress or stronghold also seems to correspond with the Gog and Magog war; when God Himself begins to fight for Jerusalem but before the final judgment is carried out and the final sacking of Jerusalem in Zechariah 14:2.

These passages indicate that God judges His people first; and verse 6 seems to indicate that they will turn "from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted"; in other words once the Abomination of Desolation occurs they will realize that they have trusted in an imposter; and God will begin to turn his attention on judging the nations; and then Antichrist himself. They will then turn from idol worship as well; which no doubt will accompany the Babylon religious system of the first half of the Tribulation. Perhaps the sword wound will be given from a Godly man at first; clearly the final end is not from the power of man either but Christ at His return although that may be only an indirect reference here.

Precious Luke, I would have to agree:

A missionary, in talking to the 'Hebrew' people, this would be appropriate - ie

Hebrew: haddon jesus hamashie ( ) = English - The LORD JESUS CHRIST

"Yeshua" (Heb) actually means "travel," so, I'm not sure 'how that is Even Appropriate' for 'calling' Jesus such a 'name'?

    GRACE And Peace...

The "Millennium" doctrine, that is taken from Rev. 20:1-6, is found nowhere else in the entire Bible. There is no confirmation of a 1,000 year period of time to come, nor any reference whatsoever to it anywhere outside of Revelation. Also, the concept is contradicted by many verses and passages elsewhere within Revelation itself.

    Hi again Roy,

the NIV says that Jesus is the Christ not was, but was does not always indicate past tense, as in someone who lived before. It can mean that the "argument" connects the two words before and after in an emphatic way.

Yes, the promises are scattered throughout the OT. You can put "promised messiah" or "anointed one" in the search box and see which scriptures come up.

    Hi Suze

It took me a while to learn how to find the post to reply to also. Then, once I figured it out, the admin changed the format a bit. The previous format was a bit easier, in my opinion. But, what I find helpful is to click the link on your e-mail message to take you to the conversation the reply relates to. You may need to click the "view thread: button to locate the post you are looking for.

Hope this helps. Perhaps letting admin know to create an easier way to maneuver replies to posts would be good.

Is a submerged baptism the only way to be truly baptized? This has been a very misunderstood issue with us. I was taught to be submerged my friends have been taught differently. All of us want to follow the TRUE instructions of God, but haven't been able to pin point it in the Bible .

What is meant by baptized by fire, Matthew 3:11?

    Thank you for your help

    You're welcome Monte.

I hold the view Adam and Eve was created in Genesis 1:26-28.

But there may be more to the word till as Brother Ronald said.

He may have something there, , I haven't studied in that area but when time permits I will. I don't think it will change the order of mans creation but it may have great spiritual application.

    God bless.

Good morning. I know what replacement theory is. I do not ascribe to any part of it. It reminds me of Twitter which I observed for about a week.

    I prayed.

This is the reply I got: DO NOT JUDGE.

    ESTEEM OTHERS BETTER THAN YOURSELF.

I am not willing to trade my peace with God, through the Lord Jesus Christ for anybody.

I was raised up in a southern Baptist church. If "the mothers" saw any kid doing anything wrong we got "called on it".

At 17, when I "experimented" with independence, I was told to abide by house rules or get my own apartment!" God always had His hand firmly on my shirt collar; know what I mean?

I was bad, but then my Dad, that I loved with all my heart and admired; if I saw him wince at my behaviour_I stopped doing those things.

I'm 70. I saw society go from one cycle of correction to the next: 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's Now both parents work, the kids raise themselves, not many get to go to church regularly, the internet teaches them about life, twisted love, and Hate. God is judging this nation. Leviticus 26.

I don't see Replacement Theory in the Bible. If we aren't following Jesus; we are following the World dictates. Wanna know how I pray? I pray for God to work within our WILLS to desire peace and love. For families to give love to each person (no matter what). Be strong enough to launch a kid that's prepared to be different and respect their fellowman; be the answer-not the problem.

Problem is, before God starts on THEM__He's going to start on US. :O

In Tulsa folks at church always said, "Git your business straight with God! We giggle, but it's true. I love God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, more than I loved my Daddy or admired Moms strength to ride herd on 5 sneaky children.

Replacement Theory is New. Everything the Bible teaches is "old", doesn't work for now. Proverbs, if anyone would've read it; tells parents how to raise up a man or a woman of God.and launch them on this needy world.

    I love you.

  • CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST_OR POLE - In Reply - 4 years ago
There are 27 scriptures that say it was a cross. Only 2 say Pole

    1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

    Galatians 5:11

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

    Galatians 6:14

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

    Ephesians 2:16

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

    Philippians 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

    Philippians 3:18

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

    Colossians 1:20

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    Colossians 2:14

    Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

    Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

*Next 2 verses referring to Jesus

    Numbers 21:8

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a POLE: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, SHALL LIVE.

    Numbers 21:9

And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, HE LIVED.

Loved this! Thank you. And this tells us we had better fear going to witches, psychics, palm readers, tarot, astrologists, horoscopes, angel card readers, crystal ball readers, black magic, white magic, ouija boards, satanism, Wicca, yoga, etc. and so on and so forth. These things are a giant no no!But the Bible also says that REBELLION is as the sin of witchcraft. I fear THE LORD of hosts! Saul was desperate when he consulted with the witch of Endor. Even she was terrified. She thought she would be killed. If I remember correctly. I always warn people about going anywhere but to the Lord. And to stay far away from any occult or new age practices.
