Jesus Christ himself placed the benchmark high according to the prophets, and not about what's convenient for man. Uncomfortable truths here are discouraged from uncovering. Did Ham's son bear the curse God dealt out or not? If you can't face the small facts, how are you gonna handle the day of the Lord when it takes you by surprise, simply because you never understood what it was. The trumpets you ignore. That's a shame, but then the Lord says when His people are attacked, Ezekiel 21:12, they will not know from where it came from, as if they're too caught up in their own Gospel to know the difference.
Do you wonder why the USSR fell in 1991 of a deadly wound, and up popped up a new country, a new government, called The Russian Federation? Daniel 7:8 Russia is the little horn, more stout than his fellows Daniel 7:20 Russia is run by a president who refers to his nuclear arsenal as a "fiery serpent" Isaiah 14:29.
You people literally have no idea what's about to go down while this is what I carry around every day:
And it shall be when they say unto thee,Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shall answer for the tidings because it come as an every heart shall melt and all hands shall be civil and every spirit shall faint and all knees shall be weak as water behold it, and it shall be brought to pass saith the Lord God. Ezekiel 21:7
Ezekiel and the rest of the prophets see what I see coming and there's no denying it. If you have the least bit inclination as to what I'm talking about you may as well get your house in order now.
Exodus 30:36, Exodus 33:7, Ezekiel 37:27,
2Corinthians 5:1,4, Hebrews 8:1-13, - Hebrews 9:1-28,
Interesting it also has been referred to as temporary, moveable, place of worship & to meet GOD.
Hopefully this is also helpful
I think you are asking if our life in Christ changes with the times as contrasted to the life in Christ in Biblical times. I think that, in a sense, we are ever learning more and more about God, His character, and His instructions to us on godly living. Applying these instructions to our lives has changed across time because civilization has changed over time. It does not mean that what God deems as right and wrong changes, but how apply we apply God's principles for godly living does. For instance, just in recent history. Christians needed to make decisions about the godliness of such things as dancing, playing cards, movies and hobbies (not saying these are right or wrong). Now we are faced with online games, social media, and other influences. We have cell phones now to do more than just talk with others. So, we need to prayerfully make decisions on how or if we will us these new inventions.
In times past, people got around by walking or horse and buggy, now we have cars and traffic laws. In times past, people set out for the new frontier knowing they may never see their families again who stayed back. Now we travel to and fro with ease. All of these things affect our Christian walk in some way. I am not sure if this answers to your question, but it is how I interpreted it. If I am way off, let me know.
In summary, I think God's commands for godly living are really timeless. And our relationship with God still falls along the same lines of faith, repentance, loving Him and others, using His Word to teach and guide us, praying to Him, worshipping Him with praise, songs, lifted hands, shouts, clapping, and even dancing before the LORD as David did so long ago. God neve changes, but what we make use of in our walk with Him can change. We have a complete Bible now, even online, and access to far more teaching sites online than ever before. We have more options within
our communities to meet for worship, Bible study, and fellowship.
Hopefully this answers your question.

That is fine, Mishael, for you to have your own opinion.
I must add, you might be surprised to find how much of what you believe is actually what the RCC church has taught over the centuries. But there are many things added to their teachings during Medieval times on that are not Biblically sound.
I just looked it up. Emerods are hemorrhoids.. In this Scripture passage, the Philistines had just defeated the Israelites and taken the ark of the covenant captive. As a punishment, YHWH put upon them emerods and other skin problems that "sorely" afflicted them (pun intended).
Recently I was studying the words Jesus said "Moses wrote of ME'' John 5:46, & I've been amazed how many times I've found references for sure understanding now, clearly there I hadn't seen beforehand.
I would love to hear what you learned! Please feel free to share your findings on this Psalm.
I was just reading up on Saul in 1 Samuel 10 and 13. I think the kingship was taken from Saul because: first He offered a sacrifice to YHWH without Samuel, violating the commandment that the priests are to offer the sacrifice; and second, When Saul and his army went out to defeat the Amalekites, Saul took Agag the Amalekite king as a captive, destroyed all of the other Amalekites, took the best cattle and booty from the plunder. God had instructed Saul to completely wipe out the Amalekites, leaving NO survivors and destroy ALL of the Amalekites' possessions and their habitations, EVERTHING belonging to the Amalekites. Thirdly, Saul set up a monument to Himself in Carmel instead of a memorial to YHWH.
On his way back from Carmel to Samuel, Saul stated "I have kept the commandments of the LORD."
God had already told Samuel that the kingship and anointing of the Holy Spirit will be removed from Saul because of these sins (which included pride, independence from God, self-righteousness, etc.)
After the Holy Spirit left him, Saul was given an evil spirit within himself that distressed him, depressed him, and caused his mind to play "mind-games" within himself. After this time, Saul went to the witch of Endor to have her conure up the spirit of Samuel (who had died and also, had never spoke to Saul again after the encounter with Saul returning from Carmel and Saul's lack of remorse and repentance.) Saul wanted Samuel to give him the inside scoop for the upcoming battle with the Philistines (since the LORD no longer spoke to Saul to guide him in war).
This is where David come into the picture. Saul wanted a musician to play for him in hopes to soothe his vexed soul. David was recommended and chosen by Saul. David's music helped Saul' mood and lifted the oppression of the evil spirit for a time until David needed to be called again and again to play for Saul. Thus began the relationship of Saul/David/Jonathan. It was good at first. then went bad in time.
I've been studying much in the Old Testament. I've noticed amazing things over the past year that just amazes me. I've just noticed for instance Rebeka's nurse may have possibly been with Jacob from the moment his parents sent him away for a wife. Gen. 35:8 That it appears he was over 40 when he was convinced by his mother to fool Isaac. That they may have actually sent him away with the gifts for a wife, because the daughters upon leaving Laban said he had sold them, taken their money & inheritance. Gen. 28, Gen. 31:14,15,16,
After the Abraham Isaac mountain test. Abraham dwelt in a different place that Sarah seems to had died in. Gen. 22, Gen. 22:19, Gen. 23:1-4, It appears Isaac & Ishmael didn't fight. Gen 25:9,18,
Anyway, I'm responding to your note because there are many of us here that discuss the Old & New Testament but it's usually answering someones question. If you have a discussion you would like people to join in, just ask. If you were looking for some of those discussions, look in the questions tab several pages back, then tap to read replies.
I'd be up for a question in the Old Testament. Sharpening Iron :)
May I suggest you reflect on 1 Chronicles 4:10.
Well spoken.
I am sorry you feel disappointed by the content in the discussions here. We all come from different "angles" so to speak.
For me, I believe that our life with Christ is not all about prophecy and understanding it. Our life with Christ is very rich and involves so much more! I believe that the OT and NT is full of the God's revelation of Himself to us. Because of this, we all can learn from it according to the lead of the Holy Spirit for us as individuals. For me, I appreciate what people post about prophecy, as I am not feeling led at this time to delve into that topic. I am helped by the study of others in this area. So, I take the position of a student learning from others. Likewise, others may be helped by what I am led to study and can take that same position as a student. We are here sharing the Word with each other. We are fellowshipping together.
There is also a tab for prayer requests. If you wish, you can check that out and pray for some of the requests.
I hope you will stay with us for a while and see how God leads you. Certainly, we can learn from you.
Take care-have a good evening-God's blessing to you today.
"And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy."
It could well have been that God inspired the maid to say what she did, but I was simply stating the verse. Do you read it another way than I have?
And He calmed the storm and walked on water as well, which were miraculous, along with feeding the 5000 x two from a few fish and loaves of bread. Oh, and He transfigured before the disciples. Jesus did not release Himself from all of His divine powers in the incarnation, in my opinion. He could do miracles of His own power anytime, but He only did so in obedience to the will of the Father. But some people teach that He "emptied Himself of His divinity" in the incarnation. I do not believe that. Some people teach that he "emptied Himself of His divine power". I do not believe that either, because the divine essence cannot be divided, increased or decreased.
But I do believe that He subjected Himself to the Father in all things, being obedient even unto death. But the part of this that I do not quite understand is, since God is eternal and self-existence and cannot die, did only the human aspect of Jesus die on the cross? Did the divine aspect of Jesus die on the cross, also? If only the human aspect of Jesus died on the cross, what did the divine nature do when Jesus die? I guess I will need to study this more.
I love the way we discuss things and this prompts us to ask questions and dig for anwsers! I hope some will reply with ideas about these questions.
Have a lovely evening.
I love the Old Testament. It's absolutely imperative and relevant coupled with the New Testament, the two sticks of the word, rightly joined together! I don't pretend to understand it all but I love it and I believe it.
Here is how you define Tabernacle in the Greek by strongs dictionary in
2 Peter 1:14.
Greek:
Transliteration: sknma
Pronunciation: skay'-no-mah
Definition: From G4637; an encampment that is (figuratively) the Temple (as God s residence) the body (as a tenement for the soul): -
It is basically our bodies referred to as a tent. temporary dwelling place for our soul and spirit.
Here in 2 Corinthians 5:2. tabernacle is spelled different in the Greek and have a slightly different meaning.
I have no idea of the significance of the difference.
Maybe we can get some help.
Greek:
Transliteration: sknos
Pronunciation: skay'-nos
Definition: From G4633; a hut or temporary residence that is (figuratively) the human body (as the abode of the spirit): - .
This old body will someday get an upgrade.
Paul makes mention of that in Romans. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:19-23.
I hope this helps.
God bless
I came across a wonderful short teaching titled "Why Don't My Prayers Get Answered ?" by Dr. David Jeremiah, (under 30 minutes ;-)). I found it on YouTube. I recommend it to anyone who feels like their prayers aren't being heard. Maybe you're feeling frustrated or discouraged with prayer. There is a way to prepare ourselves to pray, scripturally speaking."
