Jim I've been a believer for 44 years and have studied for 40 of those off and on. That being said like anybody else I miss the mark from time to time. My position is if it doesn't fit with all of scripture and I also get into original

languages which believe me at times changes understanding and makes Gods Word fit like a wet suit. Some disagree with this and that's there privilege. Personally understanding some greek and hebrew really brings some spiritual stuff

to light. So as the scripture says 2 Timothy 2: 15 study to show yourself approved unto God, that's what I endeavor

to do in my mind and walk always with His Love in Mind first and foremost!
  • USING THE SEARCH ENGINE on this WEBSITE - 4 years ago
When you come into this website you're on the RED LINK PAGE.

Up at the top is the SEARCH BOX. Links for the entire Bible is below that.

It's a really great SEARCH ENGINE, but just for Bible subject.

You can put the word 'Atonement' in the Search box and hit the arrow >

The engine will fetch every scripture that contains that word. You can sort the list; and the engine places the list in book order.

Or you can read either Old Testament verses only

    Or, New Testament verses only

With DATES OR HISTORY, you'll have to go on GOOGLE. Type it in like this:

    "Atonement, history".

    (Or date)

You have to use ancient names from ancient maps.

By using all the search options, you'll learn some really awesome information. If search doesn't fetch anything try wording it differently.

If it fetches 10,000 verses; try wording it another way or just look at only OT or NT verses.

Look around on this whole website to see what's in it. If you get lost, just back out and come back in. Curious is good.

The location of the COMMENTARY BOX is below the search box. Touch a scripture and it will highlight Yellow. Scroll down slowly.

Jim No I have no Idea what your saying since God created life in mary by creating seed that would go with her

egg human side which would explain sinless blood. Since he also had spirit that would make perfect because he

always walked perfectly and did the fathers will. God didn't break any of the laws he set up for His son to be born

live perfectly and pay for our sins and complete His Ministry at Gods Right Hand. I don't know how your reading my replies because for the most part I agree. So if looking for argument or to prove your point I don't do that no profit!

Proof of Spirit remember Came down like as a dove.

Jim Your correct I went too far back in context still trying to figure out your point because the Love of God

seeks understanding not looking for error in everything I.E. thinketh no evil or pure hearts seek truth. Also who was He

addressing at the time was it not Israel and yes their is a point to this.

In the Gospels, Jesus quotes the old testament many times and how in his coming the old testament is fulfilled,

In the two verses you quoted, as in Colossians 2:14-15 Jesus is talking about blotting out the handwriting of ordinances, not the laws. Hebrews 9:11-14 explains why the ordinances are no longer necessary, because of the blood of Christ,

Rather he exemplifies the laws as in Matthew 5:21-45, 18-"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Galatians 5:14-23 "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." 22&23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith," "Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

Just one comment. Jesus didn't abolish the law.

As far as the scriptures are concerned. He fulfilled it.

Mat_5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Look into scripture and see how many times fulfilled is used in the New Testament.

Act_13:29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.

    See Psalms 22.

Hi Sabrina. The Hebrew word used in Exodus 19:3 is the same word used in 2 Kings 2:11 (when Elijah was caught up in a whirlwind to enter Heaven). And that word is 'a-lah', which means 'to go up, ascend, or climb'. So, it would correct to understand that both Moses & Elijah physically changed direction, one by walking up the mount to God & the other transported into Heaven to God. However, in both cases I would think that some degree of 'transfiguration' would have taken place; Moses' facial complexion changed/shone ( Exodus 34:29-35) and Elijah would have to receive a glorified body (i.e. with the corruption of flesh neutralized to enter Heaven) just as we would be changed at the Rapture ( 1 Corinthians 15:51-53).

    Hi Rick

The word of God is more powerful than a two edged sword.

Heb_4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Keep reading your bible. My father once said to me, If I sent you a letter would you read it? I said yes. He then said " Your heavenly Father has sent you a letter...Read it."

I'm in my late 60's and have read the bible for many years. I'm still learning from it.

    Thanks

    Hi Rick

No I don't think so. Consider Luk 13:22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. This suggest a period of time after talking to the ruler.

This message is to those who think they are doing Gods will.

Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Luk 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Luk 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Luk 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Yes it is important to be doing Gods will.

    Thanks

Dr. Lee There is a major difference between destroying the law or fulfilling and completing it to fulfill all

righteousness which was part of Gods plan nailing to His Cross as it states in Colossians 2: 8-21 especially

    verse 14.

    Hi Rick

A mans seed by itself will not produce a child.

We need a man and a women to produce a child.

God used the women to produce a child with a seed he implanted in her.

The women was of the line of David.

Matt 1:1 Both David and Abraham are mentioned here.

What do you think God is trying to tell you here.

Verse 1-17 deals with the lineage of Joseph. Yes Joseph is not the father of Jesus.

He is of the lineage of David and Abraham. God put this in for a reason.

The lineage of Mary is in Luke 3. Joseph father was Jacob Matt 1:16

    Heli was Mary's father.

Where does this lineage go back to?

It ends with Adam and he is called the son of God.

Jesus is called the son of God as well as Adam.

Jesus had the same nature as you and I.

The difference is that he didn't give inti it.

    He didn't sin.

If he couldn't sin then what is the sense of Heb 4

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Not only that but if he couldn't sin that means he didn't have the same nature as you and I.

    That's a dangerous thought isn't it. Consider 1 John 4

1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

    Thanks for your time

    Joshua 24:15

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, we will serve the LORD.

AS I was in a Prayer Team mtg at church I heard this retied pastor pray this way and thoughts started soaring and I know He din't mean any disrespect to God and God knows our heart and when we pray He knows so I'm not afraid of praying right or wrong but want to be praying in God's will and word. Are We suppose to pray that God help us to sin less so Jesus won't suffer anymore or as i once or twice hurting for my lost neighbors & family/world have said to God...Lord, if my heart is breaking for the Lost yours must be too so please help them surrender soon. This came to my mind when I this replaying in my head. It came to my mind that how can Jesus be suffering when 1 Peter 3:18 says Christ suffered ONCE, for our sins and Hebrews 9:28 says ONCE, He offered to bear the sins of many...Jesus Wept which is the shortest verse but that is past temse so why do we as humans think he's weeping for our sins When Revelation 21:1-7 says No More tears and pain in heaven and He is in Heaven from what I read sitting by the right hand of God. Do you really think God gets hurt inside seeing what His creation's doing or those that have accepted Him thinking He suffers. I believe God has righteous Anger towards us NOT listening, but I believe He is a fair, Just and Loving God who gives more than 2nd chances. At least I know He did for me. I think He allows our choices to draw US to a Loving Forgiving God and it's Our choice to surrender. I'm not sure about whether He feels about it in the sense of suffering or hurting or weeping then wouldn't that make His word a lie. I know He doesn't lie as His Wrod says He's the Word and He's the same yesterday and today. Please pray with me, I'm Praying about these things and praying I can talk to my Pastor Sunday. I just want to have sound doctrine if someone ever brings this up and I pray God will give me wisdom and discernement on this subject and I find Peace about it. Thanks for reading and your prayers and/or any incite.

Dr. Kyle Lee I understand what you are saying, that being stated this is the age of grace and if someone tithe its

from the heart not because you have to but because you want to. I won't criticise or judge because we are supposed

to walk in Gods Love Agapeo by example but again I understand you.

If you're referring to Ezekiel 1:4 Lynn, my sense is that the whirlwind/cloud came from the North. But his visions, began to manifest themselves as the heavens (expanse of sky above him) were unfolded for revelation sake. As the sky opened, the whirlwind came forth from a northerly direction.
  • Dr. Lyle Lee - In Reply on Psalms 110 - 4 years ago
Hi Rick Mentzer; I hope you have understood the priesthood of Levi, for the entire Old testament has been destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ, on Calvary, as he nailed it to his cross, he had slain that law of Moses and broke down that middle wall of partition that kept the Jews and Gentiles at war with each other. Ephesians 2:14-16 and Colossians 2:14-15

If you have fully comprehended this then you too would not be involved in tithing, or unclean animals, or circumcision for salvation, and the like. Also I would recommend reading time and again the Apostle Paul's master piece on the Ten Commandments in stone, known as the old covenant, and also Hagar. for Christians today must be under the Ten Commandments in the heart, known as the new covenant, and also Sarah. Galatians 4:21-31 I have written about this here in this book of Galatians, for your reading, and to further advance the knowledge of liberty given unto Christians who need to be make from the obeying any Old Testament laws, or the Ten Commandments in stone.
  • Chris - In Reply - 4 years ago
Thanks for replying Rick. Stay with it - read the Scriptures (the Old & New Testaments) with this in mind: God's Love knows no bounds as He is just that, a loving God as well as a Just God dealing with us as sinners. He made the provision for every person to come to know Him, even those who've never heard of Him but look to that One, someone greater & more 'merciful' than their idols, coming in faith & expectancy that their redemption must come from above.

Would a perfect lamb sufficed as a Sacrifice? Maybe it would as it would have been God-provided & God-accepted to make full atonement. But then again, how deep & unfathomable is the Father's Love, that by not only providing a Sacrifice that we could not provide, but that He gave of that one Sacrifice that could never be transcended in any possible way: Himself. This alone gives us much weight of assurance & great joy when we read in 1 John 3:16: "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." And, John 15:13: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Do I see Jesus in the OT? Maybe not His Name, but certainly the Promise & expectancy of His Coming at the appointed time to give both Jew & Gentile salvation that none can separate or rob us of ( Romans 8:38,39). Praise Him often for His mercies He has showered upon you, giving you life & hope that so many spurn, rejecting His Offer of eternal life.

Spencer Shaw You show me one place in scripture where Jesus Christ threw any of that unloving stuff at someones

face or implied it I'll eat the book. Most time it was shut up and get out because they knew who he was and these

people had no clue. It is unbelievably a lack of wisdom to get into this stuff because if theirs people who don't believe

in the true God then why would they believe in this stuff. Even people who worship satan a lot of times really don't

believe what their doing that's why they get delivered by God in the Name of Jesus Christ. Do what you will, I've

dealt with this stuff and never said anything like that to the individual because GOD SAID DON"T. Use some Wisdom!
