  • Hearing the Holy Spirit speak - In Reply on Mark 10 - 4 years ago
Jesus went to the Cross to bring the Holy Spirit to us on the Day of Pentecost. He is the Spirit of Christ. He does many things to grow us up into the likeness of Jesus.

He speaks in the still, small voice to those who are tuned into His voice. I hear him near my heart or right ear.

1 Corinthians 12, teaches us on spiritual gifts. It says to desire the best gifts. The Holy Spirit gives the gifts as He wills. Verse 11. I think the best gift is the one you need most at a given moment.

    Hello Earl,

Thank you for replying; these issues need to be discussed openly and readily.

Your premise is that Revelation, in conjunction with the prophets, is completely symbolic and won't manifest itself here on earth.

The Bible was penned for us, not heaven. If prophesies concerning warfare are going to be fulfilled in Spiritual heaven, and not earth, what's the point of our existence? How are we to overcome, make it to the end if the lessons are not in our physical realm? You may think it is symbolic, but the fact of the matter is down here on earth we are always on the brink. We've had 2 world wars etc, and are staring down the barrel of a 3rd.

So, why do I sense war is coming; the warning lights flash on my map. If you are correct in your approach, how is this madness ever going to reach fruition for the people of earth?

I have read what has been written, and have come to the conclusion that modern day Israel will be baptized by fire. We have a little ways to go, the 6th seal events will come to pass before the day of trouble. When time ends, the mystery will be finished, and both of us will understand what it was all about.
  • Eating Heavy Bible Every Day on Genesis 2 - 4 years ago
I can't believe what I am seeing in here. I can read whole books of the Bible every day. I turn off the phone, the tv, get a large water and pray that my eyes and heart be open to the Holy Spirit.

He's our Teacher. Book of John 14:28,

    John 16:13-14, 1 Peter 2:2,

    1 Corinthians 3:2

If we're not quoting scripture like The Son of God, what are we learning?

Acts 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; BUT WHO ARE YOU?!

This is what we need. More Christians quoting scripture like the Son of God.

I have visions ok. I had this one of me as a baby Christian: I was sitting on a chair by this big table. I had my arms on the table pulling food into my mouth. Everybody's face looks like disgust. Then I hear and see Jesus laughing at the head of the table. He was pleased. I wake up.

Jesus likes to see a healthy appetite!

If I sound kinda rowdy it's because I'm from Texas. If we all ate the Bible like Texans can pack on some barbecue, we'd all be firing scripture like the Son of God.

When Jesus was in the desert, fasting 40 days and nights: he was challenged by Satan. Jesus said, IT IS WRITTEN: and He fired off the appropriate Scripture. He defeated Satan each time. We can too. We're his disciples too.

Why did Jesus cry?...Hi Sacha, Do you feel it may be possible that the lack of Faith in Martha and Mary could have made him cry?..Jesus knew Lazarus was to die as it was for others to see the Glory of God!..I may be wrong, I just feel If it was because Jesus was sad, would have not went soon as the messagers came ti let him know Lazatus had died? ..I know Jesus loved him, He loved all..but i have looked so hard and close at the scriptures that just maybe, Jesus cried because of th elack of faith they had in Him :) ...God Bless You

    Hello Bet,

Self control is not left out and is very important as you know. It is the word "temperance" at the end of the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:23.

    God Bless.

Genesis 19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

Why would he risk lying to this bunch of sexual perverts?

Why is "self-control" being left out? It is very important and included in all older revisions of the Bible. Do we no longer need self-control?

Mark 1 is beautiful a description of Jesus came to be an example and it shows from the beginning of when John was to baptize Jesus. He demonstrate the new birth experience by being born of the water and spirit. Showing us this is just the start of the fight as he was soon then tempted by the Devil forty Days.

Jesus's ministry was powerful because he told truth saying, Repent and believe the Gospel! As I was reading this Chapter I saw the power of the mere words of our God. Simon Andrew James and John only ned to hear follow me and they went. ll he need to do was speak to the demons and they went out. There was so much power just in the words that Jesus said. All things obeyed the Lord showing his power and might. I learned through this there is power in the words we say. IT can bring forth life and life more abundantly. There is much Power in the things we say seeing now those who are born again have been given the authority of Christ. Beautiful description of how JEsus started and moved his ministry by the Power of the tongue. ALL THINGS OBEY THE LORD

We think alike. My 1st message was to Adam, then I see you did the same.

I am thrilled you read the OT, it is rich with details. It's like 12 guys telling an insurance agent their version of the accident. Just for the fun of it, in a category called: Know your prophets:

Isaiah walked 3 years naked and barefoot.

And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

Ezekiel 4, God told them to eat human dung, but the prophet talked God into eating cow dung as a sign of Northern kingdom's Assyrian captivity.

Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth. Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith. Ezekiel 4:14-15

What do you make of Isaiah 14:2 Egypt and slavery connection, both 400 years?

Many times we just go through the motions like as long we fellowship, as long we take up a space in church, we fail to keep the sabbath day holy because we are focused on what the Lord can do for us. Instead we should put all that aside and give our savior Praise and Worship

It is good reminder to service others and to give praises.

God Himself instituted the 7th day sabbath since creation, since the foundation of the world. (No other people involved in the presence of God, save Adam and Eve) Jesus said He is Lord of the sabbath. The Pharisees expect Jesus to go by their law they made surrounding the sabbath and assume Jesus was just a mere man. Either they were ignorant focused on their own law or they missed something in the scroll.

    2 Peter chapter 3

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days SCOFFERS, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they WILLINGLY are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be BURNED UP.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness?

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be DISSOLVED and the elements shall MELT with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his PROMISE, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that YE MAY BE FOUND of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

    CINDY,

I'm not too sure these girls were virgins because Lot their father would have noticed blood on him the next day. Also being drunk would have been difficult for penetration. Maybe Lot thought they were Virgins. Anyway, that's my thought. God bless you
