I'd like to add some commentary concerning Jesus' ministry. The 70th week is split evenly, and over time, between Jesus and Anti-Christ: each having 42 months (3.5 years) power. Jesus' ministry was the 1st half of the week, 42 months, and was cut off, crucified, then in the end-times, satan gets the 2nd half of the week, 42 months.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

We also see that the 2 witnesses (The 144,000, The woman/church) are persecuted by by satan for 42 months, Revelation 12:4

These hostilities takes place between the 6th and 7th trumpets, during anti-Christs rule.

There is no such thing as a 7 year great tribulation, satan only gets 42 months.

Regarding the simplicity of salvation , John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

All we have to do is believe PERIOD

    Alfreda,

These books that you are referring to are called Apocrypha books, written in the four centuries between the Old and New Testaments. They were not regarded as inspired by the Jewish people, nor did the Apostles and early church fathers.

St Jerome was persuaded, against his original intention, to include the Apocrypha in his Vulgate Latin translation of the Scriptures, completed about 405 AD.

They were never considered canonical by any church body until the Roman Catholic Church officially recognized the Apocrypha at the Council of Trent in the mid 1500s, as a reaction to The Protestant Reformation.

They can be informative and helpful, but are not considered to be God-Breathed Scripture; not EVER part of The Canon.

Any way its all sorcery under different names ,i belive we are in the last days ,i certainly hope so ,we need an end to humans ruling over humans ,we need an end to people treating each other like dirt for no good reason ,we need an end to people ignoring the sufferings of others when there is more than enough food and water and medicines for all ,i am as guilty as everyone else and i belive we are all guilty of not doing enough to help our neighbours ,we are not americans or english or chinese if we are Christians then we arepart of Israel , romans 11 galatians 3,i cant wait for Christ to appear ,every day is a day closer ,the fearfull and unbeliving better get their acts together ! I think things are going to get tougher for us all but we need to rejoice in the signs of the times that we see and remember that God is always righteous and always merciful ,its true we dont know the day or hour but we dont know the day or hour that we are going to die and after we die the next thing we will be aware of is Christ calling our names to wake us up and take us to Himself ! • THE BOOK Of LIFE Our names must be in it on Psalms 15 - 4 years ago
All the Scriptures that pertain to the Book of Life; for everyone's information and edification.

    Psalms 51:1

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my TRANSGRESSIONS.

    Psalms 51:9

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine INIQUITIES.

    Revelation 3:5

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will NOT blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life....

    Revelation 20:12

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

    Revelation 20:15

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

    Revelation 13:8

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Philippians 4:3.....whose names are in the book of life.

    Revelation 17:8

    Revelation 21:7

    Revelation 22:18, a warning

Note: first 2 scriptures are what David prayed in prayer after he royally messed up, and knew it.

This is how we should pray in 1 John 1:9 always.

If thou wouldst have the dear Savior from heaven Walk by thy side from the morn till the even, There is a rule that each day you must follow, Humble thyself to walk with God. Humble thyself and the Lord will draw near thee, Humble thyself and His presence shall cheer thee: He will not walk with the proud or the scornful, Humble thyself to walk with God.

Just as the Lord in the world's early ages Walked and communed with the prophets and sages, He will come now if you meet the conditions; Humble thyself to walk with God. Humble thyself and the Lord will draw near thee, Humble thyself and His presence will cheer thee: He will not walk with the proud or the scornful, Humble thyself to walk with God.

Just as the stream finds a bed that is lowly, So Jesus walks with the pure and the holy; Cast out pride in heart-felt contrition. Humble yourself to walk with God. Humble thyself and the Lord will draw near thee, Humble thyself and His presence shall cheer thee: He will not walk with the proud or the scornful, Humble thyself to walk with God.

Can we believe that Jesus knows who will be faithful until the end? We run this life of faith in this hope, that we too may finish this life with our names written safely in the Lamb's Book of Life. So we encourage, so we run!

To: Chris - in reply to Romans 14, and Levi... I agree with both of you concerning Romans 14. Something that has been gnawing at my conscience for 35 years, is that I believe that Lord God was referring to Saturday as the Sabbath. I have read and heard that as far back as 336 AD, in the Council of Laodecia, is when the official Sabbath was changed from Saturday to Sunday. It is not my intention to be disobedient to what is written in Romans 14; but I would like to see responses from both of you; and also Bob H. Thanks and God Bless y'all.

The Law is the law that God handed down to mankind - the 10 Commandments.

    John 15:10

"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

This is the Law that Jesus is referring to in your scriptures"Till heaven and earth pass".

I also listed a couple of scriptures above that reinforce the importance of keeping God's Law's the 10 Commandments.

God made these laws to last until the end of this world.....so simple, but so misunderstood today.

    God Bless

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

    Andy,

There isn't. However, check this out:

"And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli," Luk 3:23

Theologians believe, based on the number of Passover celebrations Jesus celebrated with His disciples, that His active ministry was 3 1/2 years.

Hence 33 1/2 at His death.

    Rick,

The moment that ADAM ate the fruit, I believe, "the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons." Gen 3:7

Something instantaneously changed. Within a short period of time, God pronounces judgement, but at THIS point in time both Adam and Eve knew that they were naked and exposed. "It is more than probable that they were clothed in light before the fall, and when they sinned the light went out." (Barnhouse)

Whatever it actually was, this LOSS was palpable and prompted them to attempt to cover is aspect of their shame. It was an evidence of the brokenness that we all feel many times during our lives. It resulted in judgements and their being driven out of Eden, never to again partake of The Tree of Life.

Following this we see another principle:

"For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness." Rom 4:3

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."Joh 5:24

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."Joh 3:3

Born again, new life: Born once, die twice. Born twice, die once. However you describe it, the second birth come from God through active trust in The Son of God, Jesus The Christ.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph 2:8-9

    We were DEAD!

"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;" Col 2:13

    (Part 4)

There's some that taste of the Holy Spirit, they partake of the Holy Spirit, they get the knowledge and enlightenment of the basic truths and foundations of the things of Christ, and they might even in their mind believe that it's true. But that doesn't mean they are saved. A person must completely surrender their life to Christ, and trust in His power to keep them saved.

I believe in the permanency of salvation because I know who saved me, and I trust in His promise that He will keep me saved by His power. Salvation has nothing to do with me. It is all a work of God. The only thing I contributed to my salvation is the sin from which I needed to be saved from.

A person has to ask themself who they are trusting in when it comes to salvation. Are they trusting in themselves to keep themselves saved? Or, are they trusting in God's keeping power. Jesus promised to never leave us nor forsake us. If we are merely partakers, playing the part, we're not saved. A person must fully surrender to Christ. Once His Spirit indwells us, that is permanent, eternal, and therefore as long as He is in us, there is no loss of salvation. And He has promised to never leave!

    (Part 3)

These are Hebrews and Jews who went back and denounced the whole thing and were back professing their unbelief, and hatred, and anger toward the Lord and they were doing it publically. You see, a person can be in a group with believers and seem just like everyone else but not be saved.

They can give up their old lifestyle and seem to be following the Lord and then after some time just walk away and go right back to where they were before. And people might wonder what happened because they seemed like a believer.

Well, if you understand the parable of the sower, you know what happened. Only 1 out of the 4 people that received the seed gets saved. There are three others that heard the same thing that the saved person hears, but they have different reactions.

One of them is a person that's excitingly, with joy, hearing the word. But then when tribulations come, and by the way that's how you grow, through trials and tribulations, but when the tribulation came, they quit because it's not exciting anymore.

Now it's down to living life. Now it's down to trusting the Lord, and learning how to live by faith! And to the flesh, sometimes it's not as exciting as it first was. So they quit!

The indication in the bible that a person is saved is that they make it all the way to the end. All saved people make it all the way to the end.

A person who is not saved can look, act, and talk, and believe just like a normal believer. You can learn the language and learn the doctrines, and learn the lingo and say "praise the Lord," and you can learn how to put Jesus bumper stickers on your car correctly, and then one day just disappears.

The proof that one is saved is that they make it to the end. Why? Because we are kept by the power of God for salvation!

So he encourages believers to move past the foundation doctrines and elements of the things of the Lord, mainly because the people who stay in that area can either be saved or unsaved.

    One more, I promise!

    (Part 2)

It says they were made partakers of the Holy Ghost. Notice the emphasis. They were partakers, that is, they were in this interaction and the Holy Spirit was ministering to them. They were partaking of the Holy Spirit as He was enlightening them. But notice they were partakers of the Holy Spirit. The emphasis is the Holy Spirit, not Christ. The Holy Spirit's the one that's ministering. They didn't know Christ.

Hebrews 6:5 says, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

All these tastes, it's like sampling. A non-believer can sit in with believers and receive the same ministry of God's Spirit to that group, even in their own lives, as to the truth of Christ.

So they have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come. They were actually there to participate. I recall the ten lepers that approached Jesus and wanted their healing. So He healed the ten lepers and sent them on their way, and only one of them stopped and returned to worship the Lord, and the Lord turns to the disciples and says weren't there ten lepers? Nine of them just took their healing and took off. Only one turned to worship Christ.

There are people who participate in the powers of God's Spirit moving in amongst His people, and they're not even saved.

Hebrews 6:6 says, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

It says if they shall fall away. There's no "if" in the Greek text. It's just after having fallen away. They've already done it. It's after having fallen away. And you can see in all these things that he's listing, they are all past tense. It's something they used to do that they don't do anymore.

Verse 4 started off by saying it's impossible for these people. Verse 6 says to renew them again unto repentance; Impossible!

Seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to open shame.
