Remember this: if you are born again those spirits cannot possess or harm you. When they dance around you pray, "In Jesus's name get behind me!" Works for me when the devil comes roaring or whispering.

Is it not wonderful how Jesus spoke of the righteous as "us" with John the Baptist?
  • Cy on Hosea 6 - 4 years ago
Jesus was the lamb without blemish chosen from the creation/foundation of the earth and crucified four days later on Earth's 4000th year from creation . Just like the lambs from the Exodus were chosen on the 1(0)th of Nisan and killed on the 1(4)th of Nisan (4 days).

From the time he left earth at the resurrection and Ascension it will be 2000 years or 2 days. 28 -34 to 2028 - 2034.

He will transfigure before mankind after 6000 years and there will be 1000 years of peace. And he will comeback to repay the two Tiberius denarius to the inkeeper and harvest the world. And the Lord will come with ten thousands of his saints. Amen

it means to obey Jesus to be baptized in his spirit, in the name of the Father, the Holy Son and the Holy spirit. There are things we seem to be perplexed of his words but take heart to trust him in faith as he is faithful to us. For example do you trust your parents who raised you is the same way to trust Jesus Christ when we repent to leave our sins to him and he will take care of the rest. Every person is unique in every different experience once we get the holy spirit may be at the time of your baptism or a few hours later, it could be days or weeks whatever that may be.. don't let people or Christians tell you otherwise because you have a relationship with him in prayer by yourself and he will listen to every word you say.

believe me of course lots of patience and faith will come to you. I say to him to forgive my daily transgressions in knowing and not knowing, he knows we mean it when we confess to him. Not to a pastor or priest or Mary right :) will say a prayer for you sister.

  • Becoming A Christian - In Reply on Matthew 3 - 4 years ago
There's a link on the red link page. This is from item 3.

Respond: Believe, Repent, Confess, Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior

To be saved, we must believe that Jesus is Lord and believe that He died for our sins. This confession acknowledges before God that we are unable to attain righteousness on our own and that we accept His plan for our lives.

"...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:31

"Yet to all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38

"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" Luke 5:32

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

    Hope this helps :)
  • Names and Places of Hell on Genesis 3 - 4 years ago
Some believe that while Jesus' body was in the tomb, His spirit was in hell.Scripture doesn't support that position when it is taken in context and we look at the meaning of the word "hell." In the Old Testament, the place of the dead or the place of departed souls was called "SHEOL." It was to this place that all souls of the dead went to await resurrection.

In the New Testament, we find the story of Lazarus and the rich man who both died and went to Hades ( Luke 16:19-31). The KJV translates the Greek word "hades" as hell but most other translations use the Greek word. HADES had two separated parts: Those who died in faith believing in God's promise waited for the resurrection in Abraham's Bosom. Those who died spiritually separated from God wait in torment for the resurrection unto death, eternal separation from God. The rich man was on the torment side and Lazarus was in ABRAHAMS BOSOM which was called "PARADISE" by the LORD Jesus Christ himself when He addressed the thief who found faith the day Jesus was crucified ( Luke 23:42-43)

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment" ( 2 Peter 2:4). The word translated "HELL" here is not the Greek word "HADES" but is the Greek word "TARTARUS" meaning ABYSS or the lowest regions. This could very well be the "gulf" that was fixed between the PLACE OF TORMENT and Abraham's Bosom ( Luke 16:26).

Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fulfill all things" ( Ephesians 4:8-10). Leading captivity captive seems to refer to Jesus taking all those that waited in Paradise, to heaven to be with Him. The descending into the "lower parts" then refers to Jesus declaring Victory.

  • The Death of Stephen on Esther 2 - 4 years ago
    Are you saying, that as Stephen was being stoned to death (under Paul's supervision);

Jesus who is SEATED at the right hand of God, STOOD up as Steven died. Acts 7:55-56

The Bible says he's seated, but in this event He stood up... ? Anyone wanna bet that Steven did not descend to a place of holding. After this event, Paul was blinded, knocked off his horse, and questioned by Jesus, "why are you persecuting ME?!"

    Acts 6:8

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

    Acts 6:9

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

    Acts 7:59

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my SPIRIT.

    Acts 8:2

And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

    Acts 11:19

Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

    Acts 22:20

And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also (Saul) was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

There's is no doubt that Stephens spirit is in heaven now.

    Note: Acts 5:29-33

(Elk 16-6) is a very powerful witness to the power of the (Word) of God; we were new born Christians(2yrs maybe): I drove past this old abandoned gas station 2 times a day for at least 5 yrs; We went to a small Pentecostal church in Eagle Point Org.The Pastors name was Colluar;and he was a very fine minister;Well on my way home there was a brand new station; I stopped to see; as I backed up, I seen a little rough looking guy walking towards me, so I stopped and as I got out, he spoke my name (Jerry) & i had never seen him before; the (station) got my attention; &when he said (Jerry) that really got my attention; this is what he said;Jerry I am a messenger from God; & you need to know Ezk:16-6 because when This verse is spoken it will stop bleeding;& with in 2 weeks you will bleed & die if you don't quote Gods word in the presence of your bleeding; we visited awhile and he had to go; almost 2 weeks later I was bleeding very bad; my wife Wanda quoted Ezk:16-6 & the bleeding stopped instantly; oh yea; when I went to work the next day (the) old station was there; we have used this verse (MANY MANY) times& every time the bleedingstopped; I have been dead 4 times & have seen 7 angels so far; just search &see how often Ezk:16-6 is being used today!!!you will be very happy you did: Lov ya

Which comes first? Isn't it repentance FOLLOWED BY baptism? In Matthew 3 it says baptized FOR REPENTANCE. Please can you clarify?

    True, vows are carefully made.

Three vows that some may take and in this order is helpful. By God's grace in Christ Jesus,

keep any of these vows that one makes.

    A believer's vow.

A wedding vow with another free to vow believer.

    A minister/deacon vow.

    Hi Cindy

There are two pits, one pit is the same as hell these two are the grave, Job.17:16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit when our rest together is in the dust. Psalms 30:9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? Psalms16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. We see in Revelation death and hell are cast into the lake of fire there is no more need of the grave (hell), for there will be no more death. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

The other is the bottomless pit, this is where the angels that left their first estate are and where Satan will be chained and sealed. This is where the beast will ascend from. Jude.1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Rev.17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Many think of heaven and hell as a place people go after this fleshly death the first death. Heaven for the saved and hell for the damned. This has crept in from the Pagan religions starting from the Hellenistic times Christianity started and continued in traditions. I believe the lake of fire is not on this earth because people are still on earth when the beast and the false prophet were cast in. I believe the Bible teaches the saved and damned sleep in the dust until the resurrection when this mortal puts on immortality. I hope this does not offend anyone but I feel this is what the scriptures say.

    God bless us, Ron

Do you love these hymn lyrics as I do? (Based on Philippians 3:8)

LORD JESU, WHEN WE STAND AFAR

"I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord." Philippians 3:8

Lord Jesu, when we stand afar

And gaze upon Thy holy cross,

In love of Thee, and scorn of self,

O may we count the world as loss
  • Peter - In Reply on Judges 11 - 4 years ago
It doesn't fulfill the vow by any means it is what God said to do when they broke a vow. He made a vow to god to kill the first thing that came through the door. A trespass offering was to be offered for failing to keep a vow.

Example: Had he not kept his vow and had not killed his daughter, God would require a trespass offering for the sin of not keeping the vow. He should not have even made a loose vow. Vows are better not made than not kept so when making them they should be concise and genuinely kept.

You are so right ,if the whole world was ppopulated by Christians ,true Christians ,there would never be any violence because true Christians are pacifist ,we need to remember that in the old testament they lived by a slightly different set of rules ,an eye for an eye etc.David did quite a lot of naughty things and although God always forgave him He did punish David for his sins ,i often wonder about Saul and David maybe being forshadowers of the 2 sets of rules ,Saul died because he broke the law and wasnt forgiven because there was no forgiveness in the law ,David broke the law and broke oaths but he was forgiven ,punished but forgiven ,i think that God does punish us sometimes ,even though he forgives us he still corrects us like any Good Father should .
