I have always had a beautiful relationship with God. I started to backslide and feel He maybe angry. I am now suffering from debilitating anxiety, depression, addiction to the medication they gave me! PLEASE, PLEASE ask God to take all of this away. I don't know what to do I'm terrified

Even at the end of time, Jesus will still be there for them and us. I see Jesus' promise there in verse 20, as a description or an expression of the extent of His Love & Presence with them: even though the heavens & earth pass away, His devotion to His Church will never fail. Nothing can separate us from His Love. Romans 8:38,39.
  • Chris - In Reply on Exodus 24 - 5 years ago
Exodus 24:9-11 did say that the 74 people did see God, but what did God reveal to them about Himself? "There was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness." That's all they saw - what God chose to reveal to them.

Even Moses when He asked God to show him "His Glory", God obliged saying, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen." ( Exodus 33:19-23).

So you will need to discern how God manifested Himself to some people & what they saw & understood from that sight. Was the sight sufficient to satisfy their anticipation & hope? I doubt they were disappointed, rather, overwhelmed & left in awe & fearful at this revelation.

Just from what you've shared, your husband did absolutely the right thing to protect you & defend you from another's verbal abuse. The instruction to husbands is to "love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it" ( Ephesians 5:25). Such must his love for you even to laying down his life for you, as Jesus did for us.

But if you're in trouble for what took place, I can't be certain what your bosses have understood from the altercation. They may have sided with the perpetrators because of what your husband did, or maybe they expected that they should be notified first before other action was taken - I don't know. Whatever it is, the matter should be fully brought up to your bosses & clarified, even with the offending party brought in. If your boss overlooks this, then I'm afraid that either he is complicit to the other party or he's certainly not skilled in people management.

Whenever we as Christians suffer wrongly, whether for our faith or even in a work situation as yours, ultimately we have to leave the matter in God's Hands, & "suffer the wrong". Man may fail or hurt you, but God has seen it with His Eyes & will care for you & ultimately defend you. The Apostle Paul wrote about a matter of one believer taking another to court over a matter ( 1 Corinthians 6:6-8). Even though your situation is not the same, the truth is there: when there's a matter that is unjust to us & even if your bosses look at you in a bad light, Paul indicates that we should just take the wrong & not perpetuate the matter, maybe making it worse. If you're treated badly or lose your job over it, then you can trust God to take care of you.
  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Thessalonians 4 - 5 years ago
In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15, the word "sleep" is a euphemism for 'died'; because that's how God sees the dead - just temporarily asleep waiting for the resurrection, whether to be with God or going to hell. When Jesus comes for His Church, both the living & dead Christians will rise to meet him, but the dead will rise first. The Apostle Paul was encouraging the Thessalonian Church about this matter, since many were believing (& were in distress) that those Christians who had already died & were buried would miss out being received by Jesus coming for His Church. You can also read from 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, where Paul gave a similar instruction to the Corinthians. So his instruction was a comfort to them that when Jesus comes, all who believe in Him, will be raised up to meet Him & be with Him forever. None shall miss out - only those who have rejected Christ or those who may be good Church-going people but who have never been born again by God's Spirit will be left behind.

So, it's so important that people hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that He gave His Life for our sins so that by putting our faith in Him, God can forgive us & accept us as His children into Heaven. Without Jesus, there's no hope to get right with God - man has tried over the ages to find that peace with God & has trusted in religion or his philosophies to get him there. But the only way is through Jesus, the Son of God, who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." ( John 14:6). So if we come to God through Jesus, then one day, maybe soon, He will come for us to bring us to God. And by the way, that's a nice useful Bible you're using - spend much time reading it & asking God to help you understand it and live it.

    Hi Sophia,

There is much depth to this subject, and you can learn how to defend the faith by reading the Bible and by reading books or websites on this topic. Your answer depends on who is asking, age, how much they know about the Bible/Christianity already, if they seem genuinely open or are just ready to attack your beliefs, how much time you have, if there's distractions, etc. There's also countless logical fallacies that are commonly used to attack Christianity, but if someone isn't aware of them, some might be blindly accepted instead of called out. Here's what I do for example:

1: Why should I believe in God?

    2: Why shouldn't you?

1: There's no proof, you can't see Him

2: Actually there's tons of proof. Can you prove He DOESN'T exist?

1: Yeah, but why would you believe in something you can't see?

2: Are you assuming that if you can't see it, that it must not exist?

    1. Yeah.

(flip who is leading the questions)

    2. So, do you love your parents?

    1. Yeah of course

    2. So, prove it. You just said if you can't see it it doesn't exist, and you can't see love, so using your logic does that mean you don't love your parents?

You can go all kinds of directions with this, but the key is to address and counter each false assumption. Back to creation/evolution.

    1. Why don't you believe in evolution?

    2. Because there's no scientific proof of it.

    1. Yes there is, there's tons.

    2. No, there isn't. No one has ever witnessed one species evolve into another. It has NEVER happened, and no one has ever witnessed it.

    1. Yeah, but look at all the similarities. The DNA.

    2. So, are you assuming that if something has similarities that it must have 'come' from it?

    (flip who is leading questions)

    2. So, a unicycle has many similarities with a bicycle and a motorcycle. It has very similar 'DNA'. With your logic is, does that prove that a unicycle evolved into a motorcycle?

    1. That's different.

    2. What if it's not different? They were each designed and created.

    2. The problem is that you exist with more advanced features than anyone can imagine and your best explanation is that an explosion from nothing created you. Your interconnected systems show proof of intelligent design. So, where you intentionally designed or accidentally designed from an explosion from nothing? How often do we see advanced designs come from random explosions? No one has ever witnessed that. Since it's never been seen, and since it doesn't follow the scientific method, and since it violates the laws of thermodynamics, I think it takes more faith to believe in that to believe I was intelligently designed.

    Etc.

Comments by Alex about the Sower and his seed which answers to that great Promise that Christ wd be multiplied as the stars of heaven thus he will sire heavenly Children which are spirits a baby CHRIST, Thats y he has to know us they don't call him the bridegroon for nothin he wants to multiply himself in HUMANITY with his Word the seed of the Kingdom. Thats y he is saying these things are HID FROM THE WISE AND PRUDENT but revealed unto Babes our fruit from his seed the Word a baby God . That which is born of the spirit is spirit as god is spirit .Remember God ALMIGHTY swore by himself when he made that great PROMISE OF MULTIPLICATION. And thats is y the woman in Rev. 12 is giving birth after the book is opened AND THE CONTENTS OF THAT BOOK ARE THE LIVING WORDS, the seeds of the sower the words of God that new covenant, thats y they sang a new song. Many prophets and righteous men have desired to see the things you see and hear the things you hear but heard them not Hear ye there fore the parable of the sower and his seed. I will open my mouth in a PARABLE and utter things hid from the foundation of the world. ( the babes and sucklings ) The children of PROMISE his offspring via his seed our new heart and new spirit . Ya gotta realize that he reproduces after the God kind simply b/c his seed is the living WORD K

Jesus said a man must be born again , yet Jesus was not born again , he was born once in Bethlehem and needed not to be born again , because he was and is the Son of God .

Jesus had access to the father by his birth of the Father and also Mary . This is how he can say he is the door to God , and no man can come to God but through him . He and his father are one in that way . But the disciple and others can not understand this . Jesus death on the cross for sins past made the way possible to approach God , the first step , Jesus is the door to God for all men because of his relationship to God . No sin ever between Jesus and God .

I suppose there is so much that could be said . But when you know Jesus and how he brings you to God it's not hard to understand. It makes more sense when experiencing coming to God through Jesus .

I hope this helps someone .

Jesus is the Son of God and can bring you to God the father ! Amen!

Emily Abrams, Spencer is right. You can only be confident in your own relationship/experience with God, and other people in theirs. If you trust Christ to have paid for all your sins, what's left? It is hard for a sinner to accept the grace of God, that is, you do nothing to earn salvation, but you are led of God's spirit to love him in return by yielding to his leading you to make good choices. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance(self control): against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22&23 For as long as a believer is on this Earth, their character is being changed to a likeness of Christ. The more often you cooperate, the farther you go in the changes, despite the old nature which you will not lose until the body dies.

More often than not, believers can point to a time where God made himself known to them as their Savior. Something like a before and after situation. The title of savior becomes something more than just a teaching, but very personal, to you for you, forever.

Comments by Alex about the parable of the sower and his precious seed the living Words of God. Whenever ya read about the sower and his seed remember that great PROMISE that God the FATHER made to Christ his SON. He wd be multiplied as the stars of heaven and God was so passionate about this Promise that he swore by his very self and that is y we have the parable of the sower and his seed. Via this precious seed Christ will be multiplied as the stars of heaven, Its God himself that wants a posterity as Christ was the 1st born of many brethren. thats y Jesus said to whom the word came it made them Gods which is the H.G. The Israel of God. Now unto abraham and his seed was the PROMISE made but he says not unto seeds plural ( natural israel ) but unto 1 seed which is CHRIST the Israel of God, thus its Christ that is gonna be multiplied as the stars of heaven thus the sower and his precious seed thus there is a baby Christ in our near future, as Jesus said the good seed are the children of the Kingdom ( the babes and sucklings ) that are gonna be born in US SINNERS. our fruit unto God etc. B/C of that good seed Christ is gonna be born in US SINNERS Remember the field is the world where that good seed will be sown . Thats y Jesus refers to the H.G as the Children of Promise, Behold me and the Children the lord has given ME. The Promise was that Christ wd be multiplied as stars of heaven. And the H.G. fulfils that Promise as he is the results of our new birth via the seed of Christ the CHILD OF Promise. Long ago Isaiah said a lil CHILD was gonna lead us and he refers to them as the weaned child and the sucking child they will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain. Knowledge shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas. k

In 1 Corinthians 13:8-13, the Apostle Paul speaks about the relatively short life span of the spiritual gifts, whether prophecies, other tongues, knowledge, etc - gifts that will one day be superseded by 'perfection'. All that the Church has been given has been for its establishment & growth, but we have to confess, the full & complete expression of those gifts has never been fully realized. In the light of Divine Love, these other things will one day become obsolete - Love alone will always stand true & lasting.

In verse 12, Paul speaks about our vision being limited & lacking clarity, as one from those early days looking at himself in an unrefined mirror. But the day will come, says Paul, when our vision & understanding will no longer be limited but clear as our understanding of all things will be made perfect or complete. When will that time be? This is where commentators may differ: suggestions of the complete Word of God given to us (we know more by it now than the early Church which only had the OT Scriptures); others have suggested that when we see Jesus or more likely when we're lifted up from this earthly limiting plane, into the heavenly, when all knowledge of all things will be ours: "then shall I know even as also I am known (by Jesus)."

Comments by Alex about the parable of the sower and his precious seed which is the Living Word . The wheat is the result of his seed thus Jesus is the father of the wheat which are Gods to whom the Word came it made them Gods. Jesus said that satan is the Father of the tares b/c he sows the tares as JESUS is the father of the wheat simply b/c he sows the wheat by his WORDS, to understand this parable ya gotta realize that Jesus is not sowing anything of this world, his seed is the very seed of God thats y he is saying that which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the H.G. the Granson . I.E. being born again of an incorruptible seed etc His voice, My words are spirit and life . We are gonna birth a baby Christ but the CHILD IS SPIRIT, she brought forth a man Child which is the H.G. that is gonna rule ALL nations. My lil Children of whom i travail in birth till CHRIST IS FORMED IN YOU WHICH IS THE RESULT OF THAT HEAVENLY SEED . Unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as a LIL CHILD ( results of that good seed ) you will in no wise enter there in. Jesus said the good seed are CHILDREN OF THE KINGDOM . Thats y i always say there is a baby Christ in our near future which is the H.G. and this Child is the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is not in meat or drink but in joy and peace in the H.G. here we see that the real H.G. is the kingdom of God. Thats y he said that unless ya receive the Kingdom AS A LIL CHILD . When Isaiah saw the Kingdom coming he says unto US a Child is born . Thats y the new birth is so important , we are gonna birth a baby Christ the SON OF MAN . Thats y the MYSTERY of the Kingdom of God is Christ in you . When Jerimiah saw the new covenant he also saw ALL THE WORLD in travail and birth pains. Jesus said the field was the world where that good seed wd be planted. That Women in Rev.12 giving birth is the direct result of the sower and his seed n mat. 13 her child is spirit the H.G. We are that woman that is gonna birth Christ,a kingdom with in US . K

Dahg Melek, "God's 'Grace' is a specific period of time to make right that which has been wrong. It is not an indefinite, never ceasing thing in which we can continue to do what we have always done and there be no judgement." Your specific time frame is relative to our human station and responsibility. That is a narrow and limited definition of grace, that does not encompass the grace of God. To limit God's grace, is to limit God, which never or ever is possible. Only creation is limited to time specific. To contrast grace to judgement, you must first minimize both in your thinking, hence, the narrow and limited view you present. Both grace and judgement are everpresent qualities of God.
