In the Wiki article about old Saint Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco, there is a panel below the bell tower clock which shows a quote, or reference, to Ecclesiastes 4:23, which says: "Son, observe the time and fly from evil". I have looked online at the book of Ecclesiastes and the last verse in chapter 4 appears to be 17. Can someone help me solve this mystery? Thank you

Greg, that was very informative & thank you for your troubles in explaining the Solar Calendar from the Book of Enoch & other references. I guess I've never looked into this matter since I don't regard the Apocryphal books as part of the Canon of Scripture. I can see a lot of interesting information therein (such as you have explained), but in all honesty, I could never reference them or use them in ministry. But your time given to explain that is appreciated though I don't understand everything you said, & agree that that is probably the more accurate method to determine our true calendar days.

With that said & this year's Sabbath falling on a Monday, how does this fact affect you in keeping the Sabbath (in respect to conducting life & business which follows the Gregorian calendar)? Or, would today's Jews keep the Sabbath according to the Solar Calendar? Surely, they must adhere to the Gregorian to conduct business as they would be 'all over the place' in every aspect of life. What you have presented is mind-boggling as I've never considered folk working with two systems like this, if at all.

Me: I heartily agree, as Grace & Faith are required for salvation today, there can't be a reversion back to either just the Law or a fusing of both. For those who will die until the Millenial rule of Christ, their destinies are either Heaven or Hell. For those still alive at Christ's reign & hear the Gospel preached ( Rev 14:6), it would still be the Gospel of Faith without the Law. And lest any think that this is a 'second chance Gospel' given for all, I sense that it is still the same Gospel sent to those living at that time, whereas those who rejected it earlier, perished because of their rejection of it. It seems that the validity of the Gospel is not based on a specific duration (i.e. a cut off time) but on its eternal value & offer to all living. And of course, where the Holy Spirit is absent there can't be conviction; but when Christ is present (Millenium), His Spirit goes to work. And the fact that it is preached today in all love & urgency as the Spirit still abides, is so that those who choose to reject it now & die, will never receive a second chance for eternal life, even though it remains valid.

The Anti-Christ proponents say that the verse speaks of the Anti-Christ in position for 7 years, first coming as a peace-maker (confirming the covenant he makes to this end). In the midst of the week (3 years), he breaks that covenant, stopping all Jewish worship & his position on the 'throne' desecrates & makes the Temple an abomination. Now I realize you are aware of the various ways to look at it, & even Carlos (I think) alerted me to the "he" in verse 27 as referring to Jesus. So, I'm well aware of both positions by taking off my 'pre-trib hat' & even admit that this understanding could be valid. And also, as you would know, there are many scholars who just can't fit the events of v 27 to anyone but the spirit of Satan. So that's where we're at: two opinions who firmly believe their understanding of this verse is correct.

b. You: "Isn't the chapter about Jesus confirming THE covenant (verses 24 and 25)? It's all about that. to make an end of sins, THE TESTATOR must die in order for the will or covenant to become in affect. All over Hebrews."

Me: I agree that it is Jesus that is spoken about in vv 24,25. But when you look at the 'weeks' of years given in vv 24-27, we see that Jesus was already crucified (v 26) & Jerusalem destroyed by Titus in AD 70 (69 weeks). Then in v 27 "he confirms the covenant for 1 week (the remaining week from the 70 weeks)". How do you understand this in the light that Jesus was already crucified at the 62nd week?

Robert, thank you for the time you've taken for such a detailed reply. Just to pick up on some things in reference to the Dan 9 account. And I'm trying to think not as a pre-tribber or any other 'tribber', but look at the verses in their context.

a. You: "There are TWO princes mentioned in this passage. One is Titus (secular little prince) and the other Jesus the Messiah, the Prince of peace." (v26).

Me: Yes, I do agree with you on that, but when we get to verse 27 & we see "And he shall confirm the covenant with many", this is where divergent opinions arise on who "he" is. Some say that it speaks of Jesus, others, Anti-Christ. For those referring it to Jesus, I sought understanding as to His "confirming the Covenant FOR ONE WEEK (7 Years) & causing the sacrifice & oblation to cease, etc." If it was Jesus, how & when did this happen at His coming & His death, as all things continued the same way with the Jews? If it referred to the "Prince that shall come", then it spoke about, either evil Titus at his coming in AD 70, or that spirit that was in him, to be revealed in the Anti-Christ.

Now, I realize that you've also given a fuller explanation of this & it is noted & appreciated. However, to fully appreciate both sides of understanding verse 27 (whether speaking of Jesus or Anti-Christ), we would need to understand "confirming the covenant", "for one week (7 years)", & a "ceasing & removal of the sacrifices & abominations". You've said that Jesus affirmed the promise through the Gospel (how so for 7 years?), the sacrifices/oblations ceased through His death & resurrection, & the desolation of the abominations at His Second Coming (I assume).

Can you imagine the church writing apostle Peter and saying we can't understand your letters because we have no seminary's and library of books to study them !

I'm not sure if someone is claiming the KJV has changed or not, but if that's the claim that can be easily resolved by looking any verse up in the 1611 A.D. version which is on this website. People have made this claim a lot and instead of taking a few seconds to verify if their verse has actually changed, some insist that the KJV is somehow wrong and that their memory is never wrong. Personally I trust God's word more than man's word. People should also keep in mind that the English language has changed a lot in 400 years, so in case it's a word being spelled slightly differently, it doesn't mean a translation is corrupted if it updates to the proper spoken language.

Sounds like you have more than one person ought to have. Read Ephesians chapter 6. Principalities and Powers are invisible but they manifest in mean ways. That's how you know they are around. You need to get more Bible into you to win against these things that afflict the children.

Schizophrenia is a demonic spirit. It may be working in sync with a familiar spirit (infiltrates and follows families). Learn from Derek how to run these demons off. It's the Holy Name of Jesus they must bow to.

Generally I suggest you would watch Charles Stanley videos on YouTube; but I'm going to add to that, videos by Charles Capps. He teaches on the Authority of the Believer. Both are fatherly Teachers. You'll enjoy the sermons. Greg Laurie teaches a lot of younger people. You might check out his sermons too.

I do understand how people can get things messed up sometimes. But I'm not saying Satan is doing any of this, in fact only God would have that sort of power in my opinion. I can't tell you exactly how, but I know what my Bible used to say and what it now says, and it no longer matches. I was born in 1974, I'm not aware of any of those things you referred to in regards to why I have it mixed up, but I'm going off of what I read in my actual Bible.

Mark 13:10 is a great example, don't you remember "and the gospel must first be preached among all nations"? It now says Published instead of preached. I believe it's the time of great revelation. 2020 vision. Truth is being revealed. Think of the division Paul brought to the churches. The confusion and all the various denominations (Over 38,000).

Well now Paul tells us in 2 Cor. 11:8 how he robbed churches. That was not always in my Bible that way.

I don't know why we have alternate realities but I read the Bible dozens of times, I just know it's changed for me. There's no doubt about it and it's in a supernatural way. The big one for me is the Thinker statue with it's fist to it's forehead. I had the statue growing up, yet he never had his fist to his forehead, it's supposedly always been to his mouth and chin. There's never been Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing, it's always been Kraft Stove Top.
