I go to a Nazarene church and the pastor wants to get me involved seeing my zeal and hands me a book called "Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith" by Rob Bell. When the book hit my hand, the Holy Spirit gave me a vision and a word of knowledge. Everything went totally black and the pastor disappeared for that tenth of a second and I saw the word DECEPTION in a 120-font in white and heard the Holy spirit say DECEPTION really loud in my spirit man. I didn't know who Rob Bells was at the time. I read the book adn debunked (Sacred Cowtippered) it. I was one fo the first to preach against the Emergent Church Movement on Youtube and many in the church attacked me. I have had way more persecution from the church than the world- 100 x more. If you have a good church, you are lucky. Most people don't hear the Holy Spirit. Sounds like you do. Nonetheless that pastor that pastored that church of 500 for about 25 years continued down the false road dragging his congregation with him. I hope I helped pull some people out of that mess. Pray for me if I should continue the home bible study or go out and try to find a decent (not perfect) church. The ones with good doctrine are pretty dead spiritually and deny the power fo the Holy Spirit. Those who dont' deny the Holy Spirit's move usually have a lot of bad doctrine. You may not know this but about 20 years ago 30% of pastors in America were addicted to porn and it is way worse now. I don't want them anointing me with oil and I can sure use prayer for healing.

Makes me think of John 3:8

The wind Blows where it listeth , and Thou hearest the sound thereof, but cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes; so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

me: amen bro. I am sure glad ot meet brothers like you. It doesn't happen too often.

All of us older folks should bless the church teens with what they need to spread some love around the neighborhood; if the Church will allow it."

Me:be the example and hope othrs follow

There's even space on it to write your Church's name and address on it.

Then be praying for your Pastor to hear from God every time he prays and gets his sermon ready for whatever day your Church chooses to assemble on.

me: I couldn't handle a lot of false doctrine and/or compromise anymore. I quit going to church about 3 years ago and started a home bible study. This is where a lot of the church is going to have to go to as things get worse. The home churches in China is why the gospel spread so fast there. State churches there are for show and tell so Christianized nations will do business with China thinking there is no persecution anymore. 99.99% of all churches n America are state churches (501c3) putting themselves under Caesar as the head instead of Christ. We will continue to see them compromise more and more.

Also, I have been marginalized at every church I went to. I couldn't use my gifts at the SBC church because I didn't JOIN their hierarchy which is borderline communism now and was going that route for about 15 years. Now they are into social justice. I went to a Pentecostal church for a whole year, and was very friendly toward people every week and couldn't make one friend. Worship there wsa awesome; preaching was decent and doctrinally sound for the most part but it was a click. I wonder how many people left there feeling they were not a part of the assembly.

    Dear Brothers & Sisters

Please expound on this scripture and tell me if Yahusha rose on the Sabbath or Sunday. Refer Mathew 12:40 if you agree on this then on what day was He hung on the Cross. On what day was He crucified?

    regards

send new thread. I am having a hard time finding your comments at this point.

"I'm an old street preacher too. Lately I have noticed unique ways people distribute Chick Tracts and others:

me: i was saved by reading Chick tracts.

Outside of a goodwill store I saw one on top of a trash can. Looked brand new. First I almost wept because someone threw away Gods Word. Got in my car and was praying out the pain; and I saw someone throw paper in the can and pick up the tract and take it with them.

me. God gets it done. I put them everywhere. Satan can't throw all the seed away.

I see tracts on the sidewalk (out of the foot traffic somewhat) and people pick them up!!

I've seen them on park or bus benches.

I know street ministry is still alive and well!

me: yes, satan can't stop it. I need to get back to carrying the cross. that opens doors. my back hurts pretty bad though. I have an awesome plan that could get the gospel to 1,000's in literally one day.

Almost everyone will read a Chick comic type booklet. They're inexpensive too.

me: got about 8,000 on the shelf still. This was Your Life tract.

I know they pray over them and ask God to lead people to them. He is the Lord of the Harvest! I hope more people will do this.

me: most Christians will not which Spurgeon said you can't be saved if you don't care about the lost. They are afraid to lose friends to even talk to them about the gospel.

I hope it's ok to send a request to everyone in here who cares about church freedoms.

I might remind that when the church was all fascinated by the launch to the moon, they didn't notice the old lady atheist that got the Bible, commandments and prayer kicked out of public schools.

Right now there is a Mandate being presented to our Congress, from the state of California:

TO STOP SiNGING in all Churches in the USA. Supposedly again it is for the safety of those who might be "exposed" to the virus as people sing. It is a violation of Christians first amendment rights.

So please exercise your rights to sign a Petition to Stop This Action before it is entered into Congress's calendar. Spread it around if you can.

Evil men prosper when good men do nothing. (Bible)

Please join me in prayer for the Holy Spirit to open the doors of the unsaved/the lost , their ears, hearts, souls, mind, and bodies to the Gospel and/or remove the scales of their eyes and hearts, to be removed so that they would receive Jesus Christ as their Lord/Savior, become born again of the water/ and the Spirit so that their names would be written in the Lambs book of life. For ALL To The Glory, HONOR, POWER and Praise be unto the Lord God our Father, who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb forever and ever, Amen!

My thought is that because we have laws that allow us to protect ourselves from those that seek to do us harm as well as rob us of all the things needed to survive. Other wise we would be as sheep led to slaughter, taken advantage of at every turn by those that neither believe or have any regard for others but them selves. Of course I will bring up the death of 6 million people in WW 2. Could you stand by and watch your own families lives taken from you before your very eyes and you still live and not raise a hand to try to save them? I am not a war monger by any means, but I believe there is a time and place otherwise we could be speaking German or have Oriental overlords in our lives right now. One other thing I do not think Zondervans had made it to that neighborhood yet.

  • Part Two SIGNS OF THE TIMES on Hosea 10:12 - 5 years ago
    Matthew 16:3

And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

    Daniel 7:25

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:

    Luke 21:25

    And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Sorry for doing this twice. This site wiped out half of it. Have no idea where it went. It was a reply to the question about weathermen.

Weather prediction is not witchcraft. People have been forcasting since Jesus time on earth and he didn't say anything about that.

He did ask them why they are not able to recognize the signs of the times? Why were they seemingly uninformed about prophesies that were being fulfilled. Much like we are today. Life happens so fast that we barely have time for anything.

In the Daniel scripture it mentions daylight savings time. Most people don't like it; but it's good for sports games, etc. However animals & plants live by daylight hours.

Recently in the news it was said ALL the worlds calendars should be changed to ONE.

That last scripture covers forcasting on weather events: like hurricanes, tremors, dust storms, wet seasons, dry seasons, solar storms:

Also Space related events. There's a scripture on a star (asteroid?) Wormwood. There's been a warning by NASA of one traveling towards earth now. All this can be googled.

Our President has formed a new committee to address that issue. A protective Space Program. I hope it gets voted on in the House. Praise God.

Let's be more attentive to ALL the signs of the times. Amen.

Richard, I believe that I wrote to you a few moments ago in a similar vein, but to respond to your question here.

It is true that Paul (then Saul, the Jew, the Pharisee), did commit those heinous crimes of blasphemy, persecution of Christians, & murder. Yet when he turned to the Lord, He found God's Mercy upon him. And we know this was a fact because of his encounter with the Living Christ on Damascus Road & the commission given to him to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles & others.

Then to apply Hebrews 10:26 in the same way would be wrong as we would have to ask, "is it possible for a believer to commit such sins as Saul, the unbeliever, did?" If you feel, "Yes", then I would say that there is no room for repentance & forgiveness. Rather, I believe (& I feel you would agree also) that a Christian cannot sin in that way. And I would add that a true believer cannot live a life of any type of sin: if the Spirit is present, there would be very clear checks about the matter & pleadings towards repentance & restoration. If the Spirit is not in residence, there would be no conviction, indeed, without the Spirit of God, we are not even Christians.

But as I mentioned in my other comment to you on the Hebrew passages: they referenced particularly to the sins of apostasy, when the Jews who had turned to Christ, or those fake 'believers' who shared in the blessings, then turned against Christ & His Gospel to return back to Judaism & the Law, which only led to death. To these, there would be no more place for repentance.

So none of these apply to you: you are saved, you have not committed the sins of Saul, & you have not apostatized. And I don't believe you are in a lifestyle of sin, according the pain in your heart about this matter. You need the assurance from the Word & the Spirit that you are a child of the King & nothing will annul that holy relationship. Keep storing God's Word in your heart & look for that confirmation in your spirit.

I completely agree with James that the tongue is a fire. If we don't constantly pray, and work on our speech, we can send out the wrong message continually. It is set on fire of hell. If we are not carefully, we can say words that will destroy someone and even drive them away from God. May the Lord help me to always, be a light.

  • Chris - In Reply on Galatians 6 - 5 years ago
Sheila, those verses can be confusing, that is why we must appeal to the original language to find the difference.

Gal 6:2: the meaning of 'burdens' here is a 'weight' = baros, in Greek. And in the context of the verse, Paul is imploring the Galatian Church that should help carry (or, share) each others' weights. In verse 1, the point is made of a believer overcome by some sin; instead of accusing that person, they should help that person to restoration, & in so doing they would share that burden by their understanding, care & help given to that person. So too, if a believer is worrying, perplexed, or having financial or marital problems, etc., another who is enjoying victory in Christ should quickly volunteer assistance to ease that weight that is getting the sufferer down which may also cause them to grow weak in faith.

Gal 6:5: the Greek here is "phortion" = load. This sounds similar in meaning to the other word, baros, but its use is for the load that we carry ourselves, or as a ship, or truck might carry. These are loads we can't share with another & on a personal level, it means that we have to carry & be responsible for our own loads as we walk along life's road. Paul, I think, is specifically referring to how we maintain our Christian life: are we careful, watchful, prayerful, self-examining, etc.? These are loads we all carry as we try to please the Lord with our lives. And these loads cannot be shared with another - they are for us individually to carry. Yet, Jesus says in Mt 11:30, that His "burden is light". Unlike the heavy burdens the Jewish religious leaders placed on the people, Jesus says that following Him won't be heavy at all, as He (by His Spirit) is there to make our Christian experience light on burden & heavy on joy & peace.

Debra I saw these numbers as well for years. I searched for years on end for understanding. My advice is to not research them online as you will be lead to Doreen Virtue and new agers who speak of angel numbers. If you awaken at one of these times in the middle of the night immediately pray. If during the day what was in your heart before you saw the number? Was it anxiety and sin? Is their repetitive sin within your life? If so get right with God and The WORD. Do not fear. Do not accept the anxiety. Pray. Praise Jesus in his name. As stated there is no scripture to provide us an answer. I can only provide my personal opinion and I stayed semi shallow here. When God calls, answer. Repent. Change.

    May God Bless You

Sara, this passage speaks about the apostle Paul when he was preaching to the believers at Troas. On that day, the Lord's Day, Paul was preaching for an extended period of time and young Eutychus fell asleep & indeed, fell off from his place at the window sill far to the ground (a couple of levels down). People thought he had died, but Paul went to him & found that he was still alive & gave that good news to the people. And so verse 12 says that the people were greatly (same as, "not a little") comforted by this news that the boy was still alive. So with everyone happy, & awake, Paul went on to preach for another few hours!

Otis, the closest verse I could find is in Genesis 1:29:

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."

This was at the time when both man & animals were vegetarian in their diet. Then from chapter 9:3, mankind (i.e. from Noah onwards) it seems was authorized to eat meat. However, some Jews hold that God gave this permission grudgingly, but I don't understand the Scripture in this way. And I suppose, from those animals which were herbivorous, some of them became carnivores: but there's no Scripture to show that.

Praise is truly important. Especially in times of great distress. Recently I was under persecution because the powers that be wanted a natural explanation for my skills. They wanted a weakness to exploit for the sake of there sadistic pleasures. But I made it clear my greatest strength is from that of The Holly Spirit. As a member of the Creed of Christians I have trained and experienced the hounds of horror. But despite the immense torment that the Devil himself has brought upon me I still thank God for it all. Because if it wasn't for these impactful experiences, how could I truly know what it means to be a Man of God?

Pray for me Brothers and Sisters. For the journey has only just begun.

Carleton, Isaiah 32 speaks about the time after the Assyrian army would be destroyed & peace & tranquillity would again return to Judah. Without going through the whole chapter, your question on verse 16 continues on with that theme of restoration.

I think the word 'judgement' is what is concerning you here. I checked the original Hebrew word & it comes up as 'mispat', (pronounced, mishpat), which essentially means 'justice'. So we can read that verse as, "then justice or righteous judgement will dwell in the wilderness (& this wilderness we're told will become a fruitful field (v15)), where righteousness will already be"). So it was a welcome prospect for Judah who were in dread of the Assyrians.
